Chelsea - The Aguero Times!

Star date Wednesday 2nd December 2009!

With the transfer window now beckoning for Chelsea, the mixed messages, not only about there being no signing but also the ongoing Sergio 'Kun` Aguero saga, continue to fill column inches.

Recently, Cendrowski, gave us a lovely update on how the situation is perceived in Spain,

Chelsea Tabled Aguero Bid, Click Here

and today, the Daily Mirror goes one step further when it comes to adding a little momentum to the story.

It carries a back page exclusive proudly implying that Roman Abramovich has given his blessing for the transfer to go-ahead, with the fee being quoted at around about the £40 million mark.

Continuing, the red-top suggests that club officials will be meeting with his agents in the next couple of days to iron out a few snags and that the deal will now be treated with more haste after rumours that Inter Milan, and a certain Jose Mourinho, are also keen to lure the Argentine youngster to Italy.

Now part of me thinks we`ve already done this deal to death and that it`s all getting a little tedious but you just never know do you, we could all turn a blind eye and hey presto there`s Mr Aguero sat in a press conference wearing the familiar blue shirt of our football club!

Besides, it sort of keeps me on the straight and narrow!

I think its more 'when' than 'if' now. We're going to use the Jan transfer window no matter what anyone at the club says. The club are also that 'marquee signing' Bruce Buck mentioned in the summer, and we're all away that we're in dire need of youth injected into our squad that can compete with our superstars. Aguero ticks all the above boxes, hence the mad fee.

Aguero! Aguero! Aguero! Aguero!

It's tough to give any credibility to this story because Carlo has said the very opposite of what all the papers are saying: that we won't be signing anyone. Do we trust his word, or is he being coy? Until the manager comes out and confirms we're trying to do business for Aguero, I'm skipping articles such as these. Sorry.

merlin - I sure hope so..Im not saying we need to sign aguero but to appeal the ban with the possibilty of missing out on at "least" next summer and jan it would be foolish to not buy anybody this christmas would you think not?

I'm always reluctant to make any assumptions, Merlin! Bottom line, if he's being coy, he's doing one hell of a job. I don't know what to believe.

RD: Ancelotti wrote in his book how he enjoys lying to and in the press when it suits him. This isn't anything new. It's just that he actually said so. The trick is to tell when he's lying. I assume, like with so many others in football, it's whenever his lips move. I'd advise you to do the same and use what else you know to determine what's true and what's not. I know independent thought is a struggle for so many here, but it's worth a go once in a while.
Squiddy
It sounds to me that Squiddy has read 'The Prince' by Niccolo Macchiavelli....a 15th century Italian 'handbook' for rulers and despots on how to be effective! Most Italians will have.....and are used to implementing it's pearls of wisdom. I agree with Squiddy...if anyone can pull the wool over Iberian eyes it would be the Italian Ancelotti!

We all hope so, mutters, we hope so!

Macchiavelli and Sun Tzu are writings always close to hand...
