'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Chelsea - Ancelotti on Hammers and Inter!

After the emphatic win over West Ham United you could forgive Carlo Ancelotti for the odd smile or two.

But the wily Italian was obviously in no mood to celebrate too much knowing our most important game of the season is only a matter of days away.

Speaking about the thrashing of West Ham, Carlo remarked,

"We played a good match and were a lot better after the second goal."

"It was important to play our football and to play with confidence."

"The result, of course, was important and we want to maintain this determination because we know any game can decide our future."

Indeed it is, with nine games left one significant loss could spell the end of our Premier League dream. Continuing, Carlo went on to discuss the keeping situation and with Petr Cech and Henrique Hilario likely to be unavailable on Tuesday, he chose to give Ross Turnbull a vote of confidence, remarking,

"Ross Turnbull deserved to play in this game because he has trained well and proved his quality."

"He was not involved in a lot of the game but he did make a good save in the last minute of the match."

"He played with confidence and we have confidence in him. I think he will play in the Champions League on Tuesday."

And I bet Ross can`t wait. However, when Scott Parker thumped home that wonderful equaliser I bet I wasn`t the only one who thought it was all going to go pear-shaped again. Thankfully it didn`t and Carlo was quick to talk about getting things back on track and looking ahead to the visit of Inter, on Tuesday, explaining,

"It was important after the defeat by Manchester City to have a good reaction. We had that against Stoke and now we had it here."

"I haven`t seen Inter Milan`s game (the 3-1 defeat against Catania on Friday) but I will watch it tomorrow."

"We have not sent them a message…it is just important that we turn up in a condition to do our best."

And I say if that is the case and if we turn up and do our best then we`ll have nothing to fear!

very nice of zola to play a weaker team, it raised a few eyebrows .... none more than ancelotti's left brow!!
springy
I'm sure the Man.ure loving pundits on telly visibly wilted at the team list put out by Zola. The man obviously has more than a soft spot for his old club!
mutters
That left brow shot up more than Terry's johnson at a wag convention. It was really nice on Zola,Of course he doesnt want to see the mancs take it again. After the parker goal I too also thought it was gonnao be one of those games.I must really have more faith in the lads.

I wasn't too worried, even when that Parker strike went in. We were by far and away the better side.
daspecial1
i think we will play well and should go through

We're always the better team even when we lose (barring both games with citeh) which makes it more sad.Lets hope poor officiating wont be our downfall,AGAIN. The poll is so warped right now doesnt poor flo get a break once in a while? With form like that I'm surprised he doesnt have his own fan club like bally.
