Chelsea - Your Thoughts on Next Season (8)

Rob Linton becomes the eighth to answer our seven probing questions.

1- Last season was a fantastic experience winning the Double. Do you believe we have the playing staff to mount a similar challenge this year or are we in danger of standing still?

The return of Michael Essien means that we have a fantastic chance to emulate last season`s success. We have a number of promising youngsters who Carlo is playing pre-season and there`s always the chance of some more signings. The only way is up!

2 - Which of those whose contracts had expired were you the most sorry to see go?

I love how the main response to this question is MICHAEL BALLACK. Indescribably happy for him to end his Chelsea career as a double winner. Unselfish, determined, reliable - simply world class. He was a big game player and I really hope we see him at the Bridge in one way or another to give him the standing ovation he deserves.

3 - If you could sign one player for Chelsea Football Club and one player only, who would it be?

Tough one. Any player? Be silly not to say Lionel Messi. Player we`ve been linked with? Has to be Fernando. He really does put the 'beautiful` in 'beautiful game`

4 - Who do you see as our main rivals for the Premier League next season and why?

Manchester. United. Why? Because they`re the second best team in the league!

5 - Which one of our many youngsters do you see making a real impact next season?

I hope that it`s young Joshua Maceachran. Capello wants him in the England squad and I think we may have a future star in the making. I think it`s more likely to be Sturridge and Kakuta, as I can see Josh coming good for the season after.

6 - Allowing for no more signings, what is your starting eleven for next season if everyone were to remain fit?

Cech, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Cole, Essien, (Kakuta/Maceachran/Matic), Lampard, Malouda, Drogba, Anelka.

Cheating a bit but I`m confident we`ll fill a gap.

7 - Where do you realistically expect us to finish in all four competitions next season?

Premier League - Champions

FA Cup - Winners

Carling Cup - Quarters

Champions League - Final
