Ramires Requests Dream Chelsea Move!

Here you go guys, our second signing on a plate!

Chelsea's bid of £20 million is on the table and the Brazilian star is waiting to hear whether or not it is going to be accepted.

However, the player has now spoken out in the hope that his desire to move to England gets the ball rolling.

Ramires, who has been linked to a move to Chelsea for several weeks now, has made his feelings publicly known with some encouraging quotes that are appearing across the world-wide-web.

This is what the Brazilian midfield ace had to say,

'I know there has been a bid for me from Chelsea, this is a great honour, it is like a dream come true''

'I have dreamt of playing in the Premier League and now to have the opportunity to play for the best team in the Premier League and for a club with so much history - it would be my dream."

'I hope this can happen, and I hope that I can help Chelsea to regain the Double and also to win the Champions League next season"

'I am looking forward to playing with the likes of John Terry, Petr Cech, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba, they are amongst the best in the world, to play with players like this under a manager of the stature of Carlo Ancelotti whom I admire and respect, in a club with so much spirit and winning mentality, would be a tremendous privilege."

'In the process I would like everyone to know I had a fantastic year at Benfica, and I respect them a lot, but this is a dream that I cannot let go.'

It`d be churlish not to buy the lad now wouldn`t it?

I've always been a fan of the guy, I'd love to see it come to fruition. By the way, where were these quotes sourced from?
Xtempore
this looks like a positive sign for the deal..............what a bout torres situation maka ?????? and yes Neymar...............
cechchelsea007
Not that I don't believe you, as I have written an article for the BBC on this transcript, but did you happen to see the inteview?
super_frank
Even aguero told like this and we haven't even sent a decent bid for him!
sanjay
It was on skysports news, no better source than that!
JVG_94
Lad with a good attitude. He will be a great competitor in the first team. I reckon he might break into the lineup and play alongside Lampsey and Essien. His passing range reminds me a bit of the one Tiago had. He is tougher though. Lots of assists comin' up. And goals too :)
essiential
Brilliant, feel a bit sorry for Nemanja Matic though, he must have thought he was finally going to get a real go.
super_frank
One more buldozer-ish player. Buy some creativity like Ozil FGS.
crazyforchelsea
Stoked for this one! Super player with a super attitude. Sign him up, Carlo!
frosty penguinz
Great quote--and I'm all for the Ramires signing. For those sorry for Matic, I've not seen enough from him to suggest he's ready for first team action anyway. Ramires gives Chelsea more options and more depth, and Matic will get his chances as he proves ready for them.
RadioactiveD
crazyforchelsea- why buy Ozil when we have kakuta and mceachran?
JVG_94
I think he is the final piece in our midfield jigsaw. If we play a 4-3-3 formation, then we can have ramires playing defensive midfield, with lampard in his usual left midfield and essien playing his more effective role as an advanced right midfielder, rather than a holding player. Not only this, but this frees malouda to not play midfield left and have lampard midfield right, but to play up front on the left wing, with Drogba and Anelka, instead of having Kalou. Carlo, sign him up!
Zhirkov
Radioactive- Well put, I would really like to see one of Matic, Kakuta or Bruma become a first team player, if only to get rid of this "Chelsea don't groom any players" non-sense that comes from the Mancs.
super_frank
crazyforchelsea buldozer-ish? His technique is really good, plus he's really quick. He'll do just fine. Matic as a 4th choice midfielder. Kakuta not a creative one? :P
essiential
Another point, last season Mikel and Ballack were sometimes criticised for playing too slowly at almost pedestrian pace, which consequently slowed down our attacks. Ramires is much more advanced and attack-minded whilst also covering his defensive duties. This should hopefully add pace and counter-attacking ability to our side.
Zhirkov
Seems like its a done deal. The reason I believe CA gone for him that he can be used at different positions in the midfield. And wage is quite low compared to present day salary. Only thing worries about him is his built. Sometimes he seems too light weight for PL. All in all i will be happy with this signing.
Keyser Soze
Sure he shows nice attitude. The problem is the muppet Kia Joorabshian who owns half of him since April (?). As long as players are handled that way Chelsea should stay away from any deals. As a player he is welcome, but as a deal I have to say no. Ban Jooarbshian from everything to do with football!
lindy
I say get him!!! They Guy must be following us.......he has touched the Double along with the CL....he looked good @ the WC and if u remember he gave that pass to Robinho when he scored his goal in the grp match........
the_blue_world
Exactly what Zhirkov said. I don't think though that he will play the defensive/holding midfielder. It depends if we'll go with 4-3-3 or the diamond. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRYmOem3g5s&feature=related he made the 3rd Robinho goal. That is what we lacked from Ballack and Mikel
essiential
Walker; Billy Clifford, Rohan Ince, Aziz Deen-Conteh, Ryan Bertrand; Scott Sinclair, Jack Cork, Conor Clifford, Milan Lalkovic; Franco Di Santo, Aliu Djalo team playing Wycombe tonight! not too dissimilar to the teams against Ajax and Palace.
eklim
If you watched the World Cup, you might find that Ramires plays a role that isn't exactly a DM for club and country. It is explained very well, with illustrations here- http://www.zonalmarking.net/2010/03/03/analysing-brazils-fluid-system-at-close-quarters/ (Thanks JTiG). Two players from the midfield tend to hold down the DM positions ahead of Bastos, Juan and Lucio. Meanwhile, Maicon and Ramires overlap down the right hand said allowing the two players to effectively cover 3 positions (RWB, RM, RW) due to their movement. I find that to be a more accurate description than "bulldozer-ish".
rslack
Have to aggree with RadioActiveD... I haven't seen enough of Matic and when I have, I haven't been overly impressed. He's certainly no replacement for Ballack. (People might say that Bally wasn't very good for us, but he did a lot of things people didn't realise 90% of the time - his creativity was stifled by Lamps being in the team). I think we should consider loaning him out for a season to a team lower down the Prem.. If he's good enough for us, he'll play the entire season in the 1st XI - then we can see whether he's worth it.
nar86
the deal is done and dusted already
Blue_Boy
Ramires I LOVE YOU
TheWorldIsOurs26
Nar86- I understand what your saying, the only problem I have with that is that the real world class players, I don't seem to remember many of them being loaned out to many places. I just worry he will say "forget it, I'm not going to get a game"
super_frank
wycombe? i cant see anything abt it in chelsea website
Blue_Boy
check the wycombe website http://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/page/LatestNews/0,,10430~2105666,00.html we lead its chelsea reserves!
eklim
Well, the lad certainly talks a good game! The little I've seen of Matic looks very promising indeed and I haven't seen nearly enough of Ramires to form an opinion but maybe Mikel is the one who should make way...?! I suggest he will have to up his game and start to fulfil his potential or else this season could be his last for Chelsea!
SpanishBlue
@eklim thanks mate
Blue_Boy
its level now
Blue_Boy
wer loosing now quite disapointing! must be Sinclair and Di Santo's last chance
eklim
seems as if sinclair is playing well on yahoo it says he has been a cut above the rrest. i believe he still has a future in the 1st team but just asa late bloomer.
JVG_94
i hope so! Sinclair's a clean dribbler and has amazing speed!
eklim
what about malouda who is gonna b dropped for dis guy mikel?
lukamolski
we got 3 box to box midfielders if we sign ramires and it looks like dey would want first team football its not balanced at all now
lukamolski
If we get this lad it'll be great.......lets just hope he can deliver. I just feel we need another one after this deal, I prefer an attacker. Cuz sooner or later ( rather sooner ) we're gonna need a quality forward......Pato facked it up a bit......he should have requested a transfer.
atomis
super_frank - Yes, totally.. But I reckon if Matic had world-class potential he'd already have been involved more frequently in our first team (as he's gone 21) and certainly selected in Serbia's 23 for the World Cup. Don't get me wrong, I think he'll be a decent player, but look at players like Fabregas who was playing at 17 in Arsenal's 1st XI.. And even Mikel in some respects, he's miles ahead of Matic and is still only 22/23 as was playing fairly regularly at 19.
nar86
nar86 - Matic only arrived last season - Ivanovic (who is several years older) didn't play more than a couple of times until his second season, please go ahead and tell me that he's rubbish?
the_legend_of_zola
nar players develop at different rates. Matic is quality, he has the physicality of Viera and the sweet left foot of a playmaker. The Ramires signing will be a blow to his chances, unfortunately.
jackstan
Benfica have apparently suggested that Ramires said no such thing!
Zbam
Blue Kenyan it is,he probably get #7.Matic will be world class, its just that chances are limited. He offers something different from ramires so dont doubt him just yet.Cesc was playing from a young age but it hasnt benefited arsenal trophy wise.We rely on experience.
Chelsea24/7
Looks like the deal is off:( at least temporarily.
xypher
Chelsea under 15's milk cup final yhhh baby!!! cnt beleive no Chelsea fan sites keep us updated on such things cmon Vital!!!
eklim
Guys the deal is very complicated. It will either be completed in 4-5 days or not at all. Apparently we have identified another target in Iberia itself as an alternative. My portuguese contact doesnt know much about him. But it maybe an Andalusian club we will be dealing with shortly.
Diego_rodriguezz
i would love to see him at Chelsea but this deal looks a little shady.....really hope we dont get into ***** like we did over the whole kakuta situation....or even worse like west ham who had to shell out close to 31 million....roman--tread carefully....
chelsea86
do you mean Javi Garcia Diego?
maka4chelsea
I dnt know. I have got a gut feeling that its Navas. Cnt tel why. But my portuguese friend said that the alternative target is currently playing for an Iberian club (Portuguese or Spanish). Another of my friends reported that he has recently come to know about Blues contact with an Andalusia club. Anyways I will keep you informed. Another thing, major obstacle in Ramires deal arent Benfica or the player but Kia himself who is asking for a huge share from the deal. That means either we will have to pay a bit more or Benfica have to take less both of which may not be possible.
Diego_rodriguezz
Navas hmmmm...... A lot of players come i the Iberian list. but Andalusia would suggest Sevilla..... in which case, how many would interest us.... Navas for 1. I don't think any of their strikers would appeal. 1 of Capel or Perotti perhaps? Navas has his home sickness problem does he not? That doesn't make sense. I'm not very familiar with the spanish regions... which other club comes in the Andalusia region?
maka4chelsea
Betis, Malaga, Almeria, Xerez but they aint top drawer.
Diego_rodriguezz
A few young sensations come to mind. Nigerian attacking midfielder Uche but we shouldnt go there due to Acon thing. Young exciting Argentine Pablo Piatti. Can do great thing with the ball. And spanish sensation Eduardo Ramos. He is 18 and would be a great buy for future.
Diego_rodriguezz
Uche is a decent player but doesn't make sense.... Piatti is quite a talent and i have heard a bit of Eduardo Ramos but i'm not sure there's a chance of any of these ..... Malaga have Caicedo and Forestieri... both have talent....lol what are we on about
maka4chelsea
Its has to be Piatti or Navas I believe. Rest are not enuf quality for us.
Diego_rodriguezz
Betis have Achile Emana... i've always rated him.... what a team though... UCL with us and pool one year... relegated the next. As i said... Navas is unlikely due to his mental issues. Piatti could be.... Or Ancelotti may surprise everyone by lining up Fabiano with Didi..... NAH that's not likely
maka4chelsea
There is the argentine centreback Federico Fazio who plays for sevilla and has been tagged the next Ayala. He is strong quick and can play across the back four and defensive midfield i strongly think he is the one
dozzy
im buying his jersey...
IvanoIsGod
LOl this transfer window............
Saimon_blues
Seems to be alot of news around the web, have to wait a few days tho to see if this materializes... cracker buy tho id say especially with losing Ballack
Crumley17
One more down!! Sami Khedira is out.........Real has signed him and made a official announcement.......
the_blue_world
Looks like Benfica have gone against his wishes and refused again.....
TonyBlue
If it means we'll look for a cheaper alternative,I dont mind missing out on ramires.Pastore is also a good candidate if we're still name dropping piatti, forestri & so one :)
Chelsea24/7
the name dropping has only just begun ;) btw i wouldn't give up unless Ramires himself comes out and denies... it came on skysports.com as well as soccernet.
maka4chelsea
and yeah Pastore is a good option... definitely and he once said that Chelsea were interested but his agent never told him... he said he woulda chosen chelsea in a heartbeat over palermo...
maka4chelsea
Not nly sky but dailymail also had same quotes
Diego_rodriguezz
i think sky took them from the daily mail. It's a suspicious paper... though in all fairness they were the first to capture the benayoun move. We didn't believe their quotes then. Correction: we didn't want to believe
maka4chelsea
The origins of the quotes come from soccernet.com, ESPN's semi-credible site. I believe the same person who broke the Ramires story now presented the quotes. If he's lying or misinformed, then the entire story is likely to be untrue. I did read that Benfica denied Ramires' quotes, which is weird: wouldn't the player do that? Anyway, I get the feeling Benfica is holding out for money. It always comes down to money.
RadioactiveD
navas wont b good to for chelsea see that his crosses wasnt that consistant wen he was playing for spain
lukamolski
Dirty Harry has never put up false Quotes though. Also it is believed that Benfica are holding out for a player to be included in the deal. My guess... Either Di Santo or Deco
maka4chelsea
aparently manyo leading the chase for ozil, and will get him for 12 mil, while carlo is busy boosting up mancity title bid!!!!!!!!!
kishaloy_nag_blue
Well forget the quotes. Lets wait & see what happens
Saimon_blues
Navas would be a great option for attacking right side of 4 3 3 formation. He is an old fashioned winger, very quick and takes plays on. That wont happen though.
jackstan
den why aint chelsea bidding for him cos they bid 20 mil for neymar and he aint comin so why not do a 20 million bid on ozil
lukamolski
ozil will feel at home in london wid all the turks here
lukamolski
and we have lots of mosques come to london ozil
lukamolski
maka who would want to believe chelsea r signing benayoun and signing benayoun just makes me think chelsea r out of money
lukamolski
or ambramovich aint as commited as b4
lukamolski
benayoun was the cheapest option of an attacking playmaker and they took it giving all of us doubts
lukamolski
luka, as usual, you oversimplify or miss the point entirely. The club is committed to becoming financially profitable. If that isn't a sign of Roman showing committment, I don't know what it. He's thinking of long-term; you're thinking short-term, if at all.
RadioactiveD
*is*
RadioactiveD
Luka, The club clearly has been operating a policy of reducing costs and making value purchases. I hope we'll see a total of around £40-50m spent before the end of the summer, on quality signings made for weaker positions. We don't need Ozil with Kakuta ready to step up for creativity, especially if the intention is to allow Essien to push further forward on the attack. I think the areas where we are still under fire is a 2nd choice keeper, a 2nd/3rd choice striker and maybe a 3rd choice center-back (If Carva goes!). A player like Ozil will most be effective if we have a speedy striker to dart into the space to collect the killer pass. Currently we don't have that as a first choice striker!
Bizarre_Blue
We have Anelka, Borini, Kalou and Sturridge. Germany don't have a fast striker and he played plenty killer passes in the WC.
jackstan
Yep, in fact, wasn't Ozil feeding the ball to Pizarro?!? I like Bizarre's point about 2nd choice keeper: that needs sorting and yet I doubt we'll see it happen. I don't agree with a need for a 3rd-choice keeper though: let Kalou and Sturridge fight it out.
RadioactiveD
Actually it is often statements like this that torpedo a transfer, instead of helping it along. Benfica don't need to sell, having made a cool amount from selling Di Maria, and they can very well just sit it out until Chelsea are 'forced' to make a bid they cannot refuse (minimum 30 million) or until we drop our interest in the player, at which point Ramires comes out on TV and says that he was never interested in Chelsea.
Born To Be Blue
Benfica are powerless if the third party decide that Ramires is to be sold, so we wouldn't need a '£30m bid'. Also, the fact he is owned by a thrid-party would not scupper the transfer as long as he is no longer part-owned when registered as a Chelsea player.
SuperChelseaFC
*third
SuperChelseaFC
Bizarre_Blue - I agree that we need some additions. Especially the 2n keeper issue needs to be addressed. But also a player like Ramires would be very useful, as he is a hard working player who can provide Essien with more freedom on the pitch. However, don't you think that Bruma would be a good 3rd choice centre back? His development has been impressive so far and even got the call up for the Dutch squad. As to the striker issue, I think its a matter of opinion. Some people like Drogba&Anelka, others crave for a faster, more technically minded striker. But even then its worth to question the need of buying one. We have Sturridge and Borini, who remains a very interesting prospect. And apart from that, the most important duty of a striker is scoring goals, which Drogba did better than anyone else last season, while Anelka's performances were solid as well. Therefore, objectively considered, we do not really need a new striker, especially not at the cost of 70m...
chelsey
And I hope that Carlo gives Kakuta a run of 8-10 consecutive games as a sub; maybe 20-45 minutes a game depending on the opponent. Give that lad the chance he deserves.
chelsey
Its not a question of whether Kakuta will make mistakes. He will - everybody does at his age. It is rather a question of how much and how fast he can learn from his mistakes. Given his talent, it should be worth a serious try.
chelsey
Considering the strength of the squad I think we can afford to give Kakuta his chances and the time to improve.
SuperChelseaFC
Let me do some dreaming: If we can integrate both Bruma and Kakuta and buy Ramires, we could line up like this: Cech - Ashley, Terry, Bruma, Ivanovic - Ramires - Lampard, Essien - Kakuta - Drogba, Anelka. Doesn't look bad, does it? There are creative players, there are young players, there are physical players and there are experienced players among them. Maybe that's the right mix.
chelsey
why havent we bought anyone over 20 million for years
lukamolski
lo what u mean speedy striker werder bremen had pizzaro not that speedy germany has klose not speedy.
lukamolski
luka, one reason is we haven't realy needed to and secondly, we're trying to cut expenditure.
SuperChelseaFC
chelsey, looks decent. I'm hoping we can bring in one or two more though. Not necessarily big names, but good young players.
SuperChelseaFC
lol if kakuta is gonna play 8 to 10 games as a sub r first choice is benayoun LOL
lukamolski
luka, what's wrong with Benayoun anyway?
SuperChelseaFC
hes old past it i wanna see someone young and exciting player come hes worth 5 million why have we got him in the main role
lukamolski
just admit we got the bad end of da deal liverpool got a better player from it in joe cole
lukamolski
he's past-it? based on what...the fact he is 30 and not 29? too much football manager for you.
SuperChelseaFC
yh reducing the average age of the squad wen we sold a 28 yr old and gained a 30 yr old ha. come on im not the only one who wish we would have someone better in the main creative role den benayoun
lukamolski
ok just wait to the champions league wen we come across real madrid wid a good defense and we cant break em down
lukamolski
we didn't sell Joe Cole, his contract expired. I think Benayoun's underrated and will do a decent job for us, plus he's proven at this level.
SuperChelseaFC
super wen we bought him i thought he was gonna b a sub for wingers and midfielders and chelsea were gonna by der main attacking playmaker
lukamolski
if kakuta is fit i would let him start every match cos i know he would always create more den benayoun anyday.
lukamolski
we haven't finished our summer business yet, but i reckon it's frustrating as it would have been better to have any new players for the pre season to settle in.
SuperChelseaFC
I think Benayoun would be a decent mentor for Kakuta
SuperChelseaFC
yh but i thought afta chelsea missed out on sniejder last season i thought dis season they were gonna go out and find a good attacking playmaker. But maybe dey think kakuta is ready to start match not as a sub
lukamolski
yeh on the bench he can mentor not on the pitch please
lukamolski
or, you could just support the players wearing the shirt instead of being so ignorant
SuperChelseaFC
i will start wen the transfer window closes but for now im gonna complain about him
lukamolski
den ill start again in january wen kakuta and benayoun r injured
lukamolski
You're going to complain about one of our players before he has even kicked a ball for us?
SuperChelseaFC
What good would moaning do anyway? It just makes you sound like a prat.
SuperChelseaFC
i kno how good he is already and hes not good enough to b a chelsea starter ill tell u dat now
lukamolski
chelsea lacked creativity against spurs man city inter milan
lukamolski
Stfu luka ur boring me. Is there anyway to ignore these coments.
