Chelsea - U21 Squad Representation!

Chelsea - U21 Squad Representation!

With Stuart Pearce having finalized his U21 squad for the forthcoming European Championships, we`re pleased to see that there is a quartet of Chelsea youngsters in the squad.

Ryan Bertrand, Michael Mancienne, Jack Cork and Daniel Sturridge have all been selected.

Interestingly though, you could speculate as to how many of those four have a future at Chelsea.

Ryan Bertrand may have made his Chelsea debut this season but with Patrick van Anaholt signing a new contract on Monday, could Ryan be worried that his own future at Chelsea could be in doubt?

Michael Mancienne has been out on loan at Wolves all season and we`d be very surprised if he were to feature in our plans for next season.

Jack Cork is another who has been out on a season long loan and a player who has openly admitted he sees his future away from Stamford Bridge.

Which just leaves Daniel Sturridge, a player that showed just how well a loan move worked out for him by scoring almost for fun at Bolton; but one who`ll be anxiously awaiting developments at Stamford Bridge to see if an opening appears for him!

It just goes to show just how big a hurdle actually establishing yourself in the starting eleven of one of the top teams in Europe is.

Nevertheless, we wish all four every success this summer as England attempts to land some silverware!

They dropped Josh, what a shame. But he is still very young for the U-21 team that actually can play some older players. England has a good team this year, might go somewhere.

Mancienne and Cork will wear other badges next year, of that I am sure. I can not see any of them staying in Chelsea considering. Mancienne had injuries this year but does not really impress at all anymore in Wolves and Cork has according to reports been decent, but in a midtable team in the Championship, plus his incessant "want-away" statements.

The decision to leave out Josh is laughable, he has been the stand out player in recent U21 matches. He has selected Lansbury, he has experience in the Championship but he is not fit to lace Josh's boots, he will be a lower league journeyman at best, awful player.

Truly an outrage but maybe the u19s are in action, that's more where josh is at.

I hope that they all stay although im not sure Mancienne could make it into the team although his premier league experience and the fact he can play in many positions could well see him staying at the bridge. Cork and Bertrand are new/younger versions of the aging Lamps n Cole. The big one here though is to keep Sturridge ... what a player!

I've lost hope in Mancienne and haven't seen enough of Cork. But Sturridge and Bertrand certainly look good enough - Sturridge now and Bertrand in a year or few.
