Wenger Raid On Chelsea??

Wenger Raid On Chelsea??

Reports are rife this morning that following Arsenal's top class display at Old Trafford at the weekend, Arsene Winger is storming into the transfer market as he launches his rebuilding programme. His main target is..... Chelsea.

He has apparently lined up an £8million move for our French midfielder Florent Malouda and has already offered £7m for our Brazilian centre-back Alex. It doesn't stop there - he is also apparently and is keen on his midfield team-mate Yossi Benayoun.

Now I, for one thing, think this is all a bit odd, but I do believe that we will see some departures today and tomorrow. Benayoun seems to be on his way out and I wouldn't be surprised if Kalou could also follow.

Could Kalou be used as part of a make-weight deal for Modric? Would we really sell Alex and Malouda to Arsenal?

The price seems very BAD business if it happened, but watch this space folks - will be an interesting day or two.

wish malouda and Kalou will leave; however i am curious as to why we will want to do away with Benayoun

I think we'll have problems if alex leaves. a couple of years ago we had a season with all our centerbacks injured , we had to put essien at the back, don't want this to happen again , so unless we get a new CB , I don't want alex to leave unless there's a possibility to get bruma back from hamburg if we get into problems ?
30/08/2011 00:35:00
hardly call it a raid.... bt malouda to arsenal???? errrr noo aint happening. heard rumours about liverpool cming back for benayoun too. we should sell these players to lille in some kinda deal to get hazard. malouda + kalou = hazard u get the point anyways
30/08/2011 00:51:00
u know what thnking further bout this say we keep malouda he's still a usefull sub. kalou+bena=hazard
30/08/2011 00:55:00
£8m for Malouda??? I'll call him a cab going to emirates stadium, and our board knows better than selling Benayoun without already having a replacement.
30/08/2011 00:58:00
If we sell Alex we'll be in big trouble when we get a couple of injuries at the back. Selling Kalou or Malouda will be good especially if it's part of the Modric deal, but we shouldn't sell both...squad depth.
30/08/2011 01:02:00
Why the hell are we trying for meireles?
30/08/2011 01:03:00
we shouldnt really be selling if we dont get replacements. @lukamolski i dont see it either why meireles... still scratching mi head
30/08/2011 01:07:00
hazard said a couple of hours ago that he'll stay at Lille tj_blues
30/08/2011 01:11:00
oh and who says we won't get replacements ? I think we need to offload players cause we're not allowed to get another foreign player in our squad.
30/08/2011 01:12:00
This meireiles link is stupid.
30/08/2011 01:14:00
@TheWorldIsOurs26 ... haha before mata came to chelsea 24/48hr before he said he wernt gonna leave valencia n now.... dont believe everything tht cmes out these footballers mouth just saying. and if we do sell malouda who r we gonna get withing 48hrs to replace him in the squad ... someone who would play number 2 to mata... answer me this ?ion
30/08/2011 01:19:00
Wenger's interest in Alex is a no-brainer. Benayoun, a good player who's been given almost no opportunities at Chelsea, would give Arsenal something they lack in terms of experience and maturity. Malouda--same thing. Chelsea certainly shouldn't sell to make Arsenal stronger--not for those low sums anyway.
30/08/2011 01:31:00
Wenger as our rescuer; Malouda, Benayoun and Alex... he could have Kalou as well, as far as I'm concerned.
30/08/2011 01:55:00
I dont care about the rest but Alex shouldnt be sold, Benayoun already tweeted he's leaving
30/08/2011 02:05:00
Rescuer, Maestrinho? Show a little respect. The players you insult are all good players, especially Alex.
30/08/2011 02:40:00
I myself have a personal grievance with Wenger and i want him to take his money elsewhere. I dont believe we should be helping our rivals strengthen. Business wise i guess giving them Benayoun is alright but Slo Mo and Alex are good players and should stay at the bridge.

no way Alex and Malouda to gunners. if we do that it bites us back later. sold them to Italy that´s ok. I´m not sure if sales Alex is wise move. it leaves as short without replacement. @NJ Blues.. AVB sold last year Mereiles to Pool. firstly he´s injured and secondly why would he want to buy back mediocore player who´s sub at Pool. and @ FrLamp - can you confirm this : According to television networks like HLN and many other Dutch and Belgian sources, Chelsea have reportedly agreed to a fee €10M for 20 year old Belgian Kevin De Bruyne.
