Luiz Obliges (Many, Many Times)

Although injury prevented him from playing yesterday, David Luiz continues to gather stock amongst the Chelsea support.

Stood in the tunnel, whilst his team-mates were going through their warm-up routines, Luiz, literally signed a mountain of autographs including one for a lucky girl in the top tier of the East Stand who through her David Luiz shirt do to the Lower Tier for the Brazilian to sign. Having obliged, the shirt was, eventually, returned to her.

However, once again, Luiz features amongst the transfer speculation in the newspapers this morning with it being reported that Barcelona are set to renew their interest in the central defender.

Now whilst I hope he stays, I can`t help thinking that if we don`t win the Champions League Final, in Munich, this summer could prove to be something of a barometer with regards to the futures of several players. We`ll soon see who are loyal to the cause and who will leave in search of Champions League glory!

I am sure we can count on David to stay.

Chill out guys..We are not Arsenal the feeder club of UEFA FC..WE are CHELSEA..There is no way CFC is going to sell luiz to them..Even if they bid way over the odds like say £60M..Only way i think we wil sell him is a direct swap between him and messi...ha ha ha..Catalan (unts wil know fully well they are wasting their time if they hover over our players..

I must admit that this barca rumor of them sniffing on luiz is unsettling cos such rummors alwayz turn out to be true. they are definitely in d market for a top class ball playing defender. barca are capable of unsettling any player, infact they are very good at it. i hope we would be mean when d time comes & do what levy & spurs did with modric.... afterall luiz has contract till 2016.

Its been written that man utd are into getting back pique not sure how true that is, or why cause he's jank!! We don't need to sell him, and I don't think we will. Chelsea have never been a selling club and I don't think we're going to start!! I hope he stays bacause he seems a genuinly nice bloke who wears his heart on his sleeve, also a great player. Bet he's good to have around the dressing room as well. Hope he stays!!

Lets be fair, some of our boys would only go to a handful of elite European clubs. If Barca come knocking then I would understand any of our guys wanting to go (a la Ronaldo or Robben with Read Madrid). Like SPON said, if the price is right then I'd sell any of our players and wish them well. My only complaint would be if one of the players made it public that they want to leavejust so the buying team could do the transfer on the cheap!!
Bizarre_Blue
Out of all our player, he is the last person I want to see leave. If need any other motive, let's win in Munich to ensure David stays here! Im sure though that he as well as others will acknowledge that we have the quality in our squad to only have a one year absence from the CL, that is if we lose in Munich, and im sure very few will be abandoing ship.
hazzabee
Think they will go after Thiago Silva.Which on one hand is bad news, because he would strengthen them no end,but on the other hand,It's fantastic, because they wouldn't be getting Luiz.
BlueBlaze
if they will give us pedro, and thiago +15million,we should consider there offer. no player is unsellable.
Dwonder
I hope we win the CL and that will put the sprinklers we must keep hold of our prized assets.
Elbowz
Or just tell barca to feck off!!

@Dwonder - Messi? lol - I would not touch the deal you've suggested if i'm honest. (nor would Barca) but keeping a squad together is vital and so is keeping your best players. Even though I wanted MOdric in the summer, I gained some respect for Spurs for not selling up, despite Modric expressing his desire to leave, and regardless of their form of late, that decision more than paid off for them! Luiz has the potential to be one the best in the world and selling him would be foolish, even at a ridiculous price, we don't need the money, even with the new financial rules approaching.

The problem nowadays in football is that there is very little loyalty in football. Just because chelsea may not have the possibility of no CL football if we don't win the competition, doesn't mean I'm going to transfer my support to a team that is in the CL. I love Chelsea, and if David loves us then he will stay through thick and thin.
Blue1989
We pursued luiz for two years b4 we got him....He stood by them and told us he'l only consider us if we agree to benfica's terms
Desmondadonis
All our expressed sentiments are well and good but this guy joined us from Benfica only a few years ago...he is not like JT or Bertrand who are Chelsea blue through and through..we need to ensure come May 19 we do the business and not thus not give Barca the ammunition to test Luis's loyalties more than he is able to resist. I cannot imagine them being able to pay him more than can but one year out of the Champions league limelight especially since he seems to have fallen out of favor in the Selecao selection may be a really big deal to Luiz. I sincerely hope they get neither Thiago silva nor Luiz..let them use someone from their famed La Masia rather than poaching the best talent from other clubs (which they do far more than they would like to admit) and then later saying in their sanctimonious manner that they build from within.

lol i know the girl, i follow her on twitter and yesterday she upload the photo of her with DL

Luiz will stay and make history at this club. I dont see Barcelona paying so much as chelsea paid for Luiz.
