Sturridge Eyes Opening

Although the season my have ended and there are, no doubt, some players keen to get away on their annual vacation, for some the Euro 2012 Finals now take precedence.

The Chelsea contingent of John Terry, Ashley Cole, Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill have been given extended leave to rest up after the events of last weekend but one other, Daniel Sturridge, is currently in limbo.

Sturridge was named as one of the five players on standby and his dream of going to the Ukraine / Poland might be about to come true with the news breaking that another Daniel, this time Welbeck, is struggling to be fit suffering with an ankle knock.

One man`s fortune is another`s misfortune and all that!

STURRIDGE>welbeck
TafChels
He should realize what a golden opportunity he has floundered just by being selfish
Blue India
I really really hope he goes! i'm convinced that he will light the tournament up if he actually manages to get on the pitch, despite general opinion of him on VC.
hazzabee
he'd have had a guaranteed spot in the team had it not been for some legend-lover...this lad has talent and just needs proper coaching, AVB proved how good he is and to be getting better before he was sacked and some chap took over. No wonder Chelsea are hesitant on him, he'll ruin other talent...*bigotry*
@Mq
It is chance for Sturridge that he will seldom get when players like Bent and Welbeck are fully fit..he would be wise to take full advantage of it and play for the team rather than just trying to score a goal..Roy will be watching closely how he handles himself.

I dont know why RDM did't play Dany more.He did everything right whe he had an opportunity and in terms of qualities he is way better than Kalou.His pace and his dribbling skills are incredible,but he cant use them when he is put on the left flank,coz he just cannot cut inside due to the fact that he has to shoot with his right foot.His crossing is also far from decent,and his abilities have been spoilt.I think that if he was told that he has no other option but to track backagainst Barcelona and Bayern,he would have done it and we would have had better opportunities tor counter attack.It is strange really,bearing in mind that he was one of our top scorers this season indeed.I hope that we do not buy a typical centre forward and give him the chance he is so desperately seeking to play in that position.And good luck at EURO 2012 should he is given the opportunity to participate.

I think d olumpics would give him a better chance of getting on d pitch since d euro players wont be picked for d olumpics. however if he does get on d plane to d euros then i hope he gets to d chance to get on d pitch. perhaps that was d reason he was so eager to impress. i also hope he has learn some lessons this season. i like him & hope he continues to develop his game but him not wanting to sign a new contract shows he is being too ambitious!!

sturridge-carroll-walcott d way 2 go.....if studge gets selected.....after rooney's suspension is over replace carroll with rooney...england defense...... cole terry cahill jones hart midfield lampard gerrard parker(ppl said lampard and gerrard both couldnt go forward as 1 had to pull the strings...with parker both can barge ahead) So ideal line up Rooney studge gerrard(c) walcott (gerrard and lamps interchanging sometimes) lampard parker cole terry cahill jones hart

Simeon23,i av loved the boy since he made an appearance against man utd in the community shield in the summer of 2010....What an impart sub....But his gloryhunting is akin to @mq's.....He has to stop being selfish,play for the team and play where and when asked to.....@mq..Such a clueless addlebrained again...Rdm ruined him?...What abt C.A who benched him b4 loaning him?
Desmondadonis
@Mq rdm does trust youth...the fact that he played bertrand in the final is evident of that... n also how dare you disrespect a man who has engineered our best season ever... n also reflecting on avb's sacking though i myself was critical of it then... now i feel it was the best thing that would have happend to us this season if not for the champions league...
peacockblue
The lad mq thinks with his mouth than his grey matter....Hmmm....How fickle

Mq - with these sorts of comments, don't try to convince us that you are "objective" in your arguments of why RDM shouldn't be kept and why Guardiola should be hired. You let your personal preferences have a lot of influence in your reasonings - which is silly and childish. Rubbish selective arguments by the way - you want to brag on about how RDM "destroyed" Sturridge? What about Bertrand? And Hutchinson?
FrLamp
Frlamp...It beats me mate it beats me....What abt torres,mikel,cole and lamps revival? Luiz got his acts together,cahill played well too under RDM.....What we want is for Rdm to try his hand out with quality before we slate him
Desmondadonis
its a sad state of affairs when andy carrol gets picked over a champions league and fa cup winner...and what exactly has welbeck done to prove he is better than studge
heart_of_blue
@Desmond.An idiot will always reamin an idiot.Just have fun with troll @Mq.Agree or disagree,Sturridge's attitude is not good.I wish we sell him.
cfc250
Next season Sturridge has a higher chance of being at Chelsea than RDM..."who's bad??" (Michael Jackson style) *LoL*
@Mq
@Mq.You have lower chances of being at VC than Foreign_Viewer.
cfc250
@Mq is an 8 year old asian kid who knows way too much about the internet, sadly he found Vital chelsea before Vital spuds.

Mq = Lukamolski in disguise!
Ess...DaBison
I still think he wont go to euros. Welbeck will go as it appears that the injury is not that serious. England have only 2 matches to worry abt and i think they would play carrol as a lone striker for those matches.
Blu_run
He should have made it if he continued to do what he likes most. Playing football.
