People say great players deserve top level stipends and use Arguero as an example..i actually agree but the thing is Hazard is no arguero..i was one of those who had been begging for us to get arguero when most were focused on neymar...Hazard is different..he is not that level of quality yet his ego is greater than Maradona's at his peak. I really feel for you guys who are falling all over yourselves on this..i am not..this drama is ridiculous...whoever "wins" this guys signature may be getting a really albatross tied around their necks. I actually now hope we don't sign hope because I really like Ramires and want him to play on the wing in 4-2-3-1, he can't play in that 2 and if we want to accomodate Ramires, Hazard, Torres, Hulk and Mata, you'd have to play 4-3-3 which wouldn't suit our current best player Mata.

Guess we're pretty much set on the winger apartment from now and many years forward. Really excited about this one, I must say. @i am number 7, the transfer fee paid is spread over the length of there contract. so if we pay £35 million for hazard it will get broke down over the 5 years he signs for.so in the ffp it will show next season like £8 million spent plus wages then again over the years of his contract.

I dont think we need to dip in the market for an RB..between Hutchison, Kane and even Kalas i think we have more than enough cover for Brana.

In regards to Hazard picking to sign for Chelsea, this shows exactly why CL competition is so important to a club. With all the riches on offer at Shiety, Great Manager and stability at Manure, his choice to sign for CFC was attracted only for the sole reason of us being the European Champions ))) (can never get tired of hearing it!!!) With Debryne, and Marin coming in, and possibly even Hulk, along with Hazard (which will hopeful spell an end to our giggs wanna be Malouda), with Torres to finally find his golden scoring boots, our attack will be easily as lethal as anyone's on the planet. With so many trophies to play for next season, including the UEFA Super Cup (which i badly want CFC to win it) will probably start shaping our clubs dynasty in world football, and being present to witness this glory will be magnificent to say the least, with hopefully the right manager this time to lead us toward all this glory. We as a club has something special right now going for us, unlike any other club at the moment including Barca/Madrid/ and Shiety with the right choices by our Board and Roman, we are able to become the next Barca/Madrid/Milan in terms of being the power house and elite club of world football, if we people who are making the decisions at the club can make them with less errors this time we will all witness true greatness coming from Chelsea FC, and I'm for true excited (to say the least) for whats waiting for us ahead in the near future, and no sore losers spurs and that you never win anything fans can ever take that away from us.

I agree with all those who said that now that we have signed Hazard there is absolutely no point having anything further to do with Kagawa or moura. Hulk though would still be very helpful because of his versatility as a right forward, winger and Center forward if required. Left to me i think if we can also get Hulk the only other signing we would have left is a central mid field utility player to take Michael Essiens role and provide cover in case Romeu decides to return to Barca.

Couple of points : What formation we will play ? Hazard is 10 just like Mata. He may be unhappy since we will prefer Mata in 10 as he has been here for a season. Dont know whether Hazard is a great winger. We may not get Hulk particularly after signing Hazard. If it was not Hazard , I am sure we would have got Hulk. Because You have Ramireswho plays on the right side ? Where will you place him in the line up ? who was so influential in the last season. We wont sell him. Now what happens to likes of Piazon ? Mceachran and Kakuta ? That shows the owner had enough of finishing in 6th. He is not ready for any gamble. We cant think about finishing outside top 4. I think Piazon will be a substitute in first team.Fair enough. But will that leave Hazard happy ? He will want to play whole 90 mins. Manager has a tough task or he may leave in a year or two time. actually the midfield is the main cause of concern. we have got ramires mikel lamps essien romeu. but apart from lamps romeu and ramires other two just cant bring the ball forward. and lamps is not the future. he is on decline. so that left us with ramires romeu as only players with good football brains. and its not good enough. they cant play whole season. we need to sign one player with visuon. and i think modric is that player. romeu can keep modric and ramires on their heels and they will have to be rotated. and along with them McEacharan can evolve as well. i really dont think is going to teach anybody anything. he is only going to create problems in media whenever he is benched. and he will be benched. he is going to get benched with england also. i would love lampard to stay and finish here. but he is not someone who will stay back and contribute from bench. he is sulker in that case.

For the CM position, I think we should try to steal Sahin or Granero from real madrid. None of them are having playing time there, therefore they should be attempted with a move. another option is Banega from valencia, he is a good CM too with great vision and passing ability. we can have one of them for less than 15 million, better than paying over 30 for Modric.

@GabeU, we are still talking to Porto about Hulk. Doesn't live a good taste in their mouth if we pull out now. Hulk is a good right forward player, but a ***** center forward. Not sure what striker roman is looking at, but looking like jovetic when we do pounce. Cavani is looking juvenile bound (if they can pay) while falcon is way too expensive unless we are sellin Torres. The only utility player that can truly replace Essen in my mind is Bilbao's Javier Martinez. @jayblues, depending on the manager we get, don't see hazard dictating his position to them. Like I said in another post. Hazard has played 40 percent of his games on the left wing, 50 percent on the right wing and about 10 percent in attacking midfield. There is still more to come this summer and I won't rule all coaches out.

@desmondadonis just keep quite modric plays as a deep lying play maker. and that should be one of the position in double pivote which we currently play. like currently tottenham play 2 central midfielders in parker and modric. that way i wanted to say. and if i ever make mistake in saying something then no mean to make fuss of it. but its just my opinion and not the final decision of any of the board member.

@cobhamblue,To buttress my point mate....Josh is as creative as they come,if he was at arsenal,tottenham or any other team..He might be starting...He collects the ball camly,he retains the ball,has good high for reading the game,passes well and a good tackler...I watched his games for us...He seldoms lose the ball or lose a good tackle.....The only thing modric have over him is a wicked shot......And besides we already have more than enough äcreativity in the team its true that we have signed hazard..

According to me this is a very good signing for the below reasons:
21> he is a fantastic player who can walk into any team. He is going to take us that 1 step higher.
> by beating man utd and city in this, we are already are 1 up against them..we have got a good head start for the season psychologically.
3> he is only 21, even if he takes a few months or even a whole season to get used to the pace of premier league, it wont matter as he is very young..
4> [the worst case scenario] say after having a good 3-4 seasons with us, if madrid/barca come calling for him, we can sell him for double of what we paid and will be a great piece of business. also, we might not be losing much as by then we will have our own superstars like paizon/feruz et all..

@desmondadonis.. its ok mate.. i got you wrong but you seem to be great person.. mate i just wanted to say that josh will not start all the matches and he is incapable of playing week in week out. so we need a solid starter (not specifocally it should be modric, bur i memtioned him as he quickly came to mind). and slowly and steadily we can bring him forward and make him a regular. that way it should be as i feel. if we are only going to play yungsters then it will be failed project as it happens to arsenal every year. the truth is they dont have any real amition and any solid players and that is why they regularly play younsters like wilshere and oxlade chamberlin

@dezmond.. no no... we are friends from today and i also agree with your points regarding youth developement. josh will need to train hard next season to proove himself. because he knew that he could not get into the p13 teams midfield so he will need to up the socks and train hard to get into the midfield of european champions. i think a loan move (where he actually plays.. may b bolton because he is good at taking the best out of youngster) may b needed. because the reality is he will get the game time of close to nothing at chelsea. so a loan move to championship for six month and a step forward and a loan move in premier league for next six month will be great for his confidence. because i do think this swansea move might have affected his confidence.

According to one article chelsea have allowed Hazard to tweet about joining them as long as he doesnt give any interviews until he has offcially signed after the Belgium v England game. Therefore Chelsea are unlikely to confirm this signing until early next week due to medical etc. As everyone from the BBC to ESPN and SKY SPORTS have said its chelsea he's coming to Id just sit back and enjoy the realisation we are about to sign a true world class talent.

@desmond, we should know the script by now. Every season, we announce they will be given a chance to prove themselves, but we end up loaning them. A lot of people believe they will be going on loan. Stoke city is a waste Of time formlukaku. They play lump the ball footy which doesn't look like what we would play in the future. Chelsea won't buy any players from stoke except the keepers.

He is a good, solid and strong player, he has enough pace with good technique (both way: offensive and defensive) and he has quite a lot of room for improvement. I read that MCity is interested to buy him. Also I heard that Mourinho wants to sell Nuri Sahin. Also Axel Witsel is worth to mention as option as CM/DM. To RB position I think someone like Daniel Opare would be ideal. Cheap and good team player. Also he has a lot of potential. Hazard is decent signing, so is Hulk (if we finish the deal).

Guys, just to clear something up, it's reported 100k a week NOT 170k! But could still be either, and I doubt we'll see a huge pay hike for Mata or Luiz because they're both quite down to earth, but we may see a little increase (e.g. for Mata from 65k to 80k or something like that).

Well, 170k a week for hazard is someting i dont believe is true, Hazard had terms agreed with ManU and City, and i dont think manure would ever agreed to pay him that much. It was reported hes getting around 500,000euros in a month, that is around 100,000pounds pw. The media are saying that figure is after tax, but i know they are saying that because its Chelsea.

to attract the best talent you have to give them "suitable" salaries to ward of competition. Forget the football of old when players moved to clubs for passion, if you want passion give them the "paper-action" and they'll perform. Don't you think it's ironic that the "best European Clubs" (according to UEFA) are also the highest payers (Madrid and Barcelona)?? It's all about the Benjamins (Ice Cube said) and you'll know what this means. If Lamps (a part-bit past it player) can be paid 150K, what more a younger, WAY BETTER and more exciting player get??

But paying higher salaries doesn't a "best European Club" make. The two things are independent, although a relationship appears to exist. Torres has been receiving a substantial salary, but that hasn't directly translated to goals. Pa***** Cissé was an excellent signing for Newcastle, but we cannot say that his 13 goals in 14 appearances would be better if Madrid were paying him twice his current wages. Likewise it is pointless to comment about paying Lampard money that we are contractually obligated to pay. It's not an argument, it's whining.

using Lamps as an exhibit @RSLACK...but look at the performances of us in our Mourinho days, Barcelona and to a certain extent Madrid and you'll see the correlation of high salaries and success although this is not very evident on the continental stage where you need some luck to go with that but in the respective leagues you'll see the correlation. It's a fact that in the modern football spectra high salaries have become the norm to attract top talent hence I'm definitely not against our pursuit and seeming agreement although I'll quickly point out that I doubt we paying Hazard more than Torr-mentor
