Kalou - Germany Bound

Kalou - Germany Bound

With the news being released, last week, that Salomon Kalou would not be offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge, many suspected that he`d remain in the Premier League.

Arsenal, with Arsene Wenger (reportedly) a long term admirer looked to be in poll position although interest from Newcastle United also looked to be forthcoming.

But the buzz, this morning, is that Salomon could be moving to Germany with Schalke 04 keen to secure his services and are also offering a financial package that is very attractive.

If Salomon does take the plunge to move to the Bundesliga then there is a fair chance that our paths could cross in the Champions League next season.

Congrats Kalou, glad things worked out well for you in the end. You surely deserve it.

I'd much prefer he go to Schalke--and I bet he'd do well there.

I hope this is true, and I hope they pay him loads. Nice fella on and off the pitch. Just didn't develop his game quite enough to take that last step up for us. Will always be grateful for his big moments in a Blue shirt, as I will always remain frustrated that there weren't more. If you are reading this... Good luck to you Sir. And thank you!

I join others in saying thanks to Kalou for his time with us. It wasnt for want of effort on his part. He also always had a great attitude and was your ideal team player. The problem was his skill level simply did not match our needs and expectations. I wish you well sir..i understand that especially at his age he needed to aspire to more than being a perpetual super sub so this is a good move..Wish you the very best except of course if your team crosses paths with Chelsea. Au revoir Salomon.

@Mq... Granted he wasn't one of our top players but he could always be relied upon and never hid, a great impact player to have, who never moaned and did a job on more than one occasion, to say he was a waste of money and squad space borders on ignorance.

Thanks for everything Kalou. Time to move on and I hope he ends up at Schalke rather than Arsenal.

Someone who didn't complain about being on the bench and really came good after avb's departure. If its a question of money, theres no way he's going to arsenal

we need "better" off the bench players like our youth players who give a better prospect of developing, I actually wish he'd left 2 years earlier when Kakuta was at his most confident...what a waste to lose talent like that or Sinclair for Kakou

Kalou contributed his quota but its not enough in my own opinion and never really raised his game...But for what its worth....Thank u kalou....The court jester in the dressing room along with bosingwa

Kakuta would be miles ahead in development had we sold Kakou (oops) 2 years ago

And to think he had the Ivory Coast and Netherlands fighting over his eligibility for the national team early in his career. Best of luck to him, wherever he goes.

@Mq and #Gondo, I really think you are crazy. you should at least be grateful. He has done good for CFC whether you like it or not and i can't believe you sentiments about him. Hasn't he scored important goals for us? Assists? You mentioned Kakuta where Kalou is mentioned? come on!!!!
