To Loan or Not to Loan?

To Loan or Not to Loan?

The all inspiring question!

Yesterday, with rumours inferring that Kevin De Bruyne could be heading off to newly promoted Southampton, on loan, we asked if you thought a loan spell would be the best idea for the young Belgian international.

Judging by the results, clearly you were against the idea with 63%, almost two thirds of the votes cast, opting for the NO option.

On the other hand though 30% thought it would be a good idea, opting for the YES option whilst the remaining 7% couldn`t decide what day of the week it was!

Our latest poll asks whether the Vital Chelsea fraternity likes that monstrosity of an away kit, the white thing with the sky blue diagonal stripe! (no prizes for guessing which of the three options I went for.)

The stripe is definitely the worst part, the rest of it is great, just, the stripe makes me sad.

When pre-season starts many of the first team will be rested so it would be a good time to assess Kevin then.... From what i have seen he could add a lot to the current squad now. I was more excited about this signing than the Hazard signing. I have a gut feeling that Hazard is going to struggle to live up to the hype, and i have another gut feeling that Kagawa is going to get off to a flying start... I hope i am wrong

It's better than last season's away kit that's all i'll say. It looks like petr's kit from last season with an extra stripe. I don't love it but I don't dislike it. I like the general idea of the kit. The white with the light blue, but perhaps the stripe ruins it.

I'm surprised that even after after "wasting" Josh we considering another loan move...perhaps let's do it "Barca-style" and sell players with a buy-back clause, I'd bet that'd yield better rewards than loaning as the "receiving" team will be more obliged to play "their" player

KDB has been decent at Genk, a "top" team, why move him to a "bottom" team?? It's a mental issue playing for a "top" team and thriving then moving to a "bottom" team

Away kit is total goats udder! nasty piece. wouldnt be too bad without the diagonal trip strip. on loans, there a great idea IF and i say a big IF the players out on loan play like 80% of the matches from the first whistle. otherwise it is just pointless for us the player and our coffers. as we normally still pay a chunk of the players wages. if debruyne, lukaku, kakuta and josh go out on loan we need to have a clause stating they need to be starters week in week out. not squad players. josh's time at swansea was a total waste!

The away kit is beautiful. The florescent lemon away jersey we had during the Ancelotti years was attrocious. This is elegant in a futuristic way. Love it!

yeah i have to say this is my favourite away kit for a very long time....as for KDB no point loaning him to a newly promoted team we need to start loaning players to decent mid table teams like everton...good teams that need all the extra players they can get this way he will get plenty of game time on a team that wins a good few games not just coming on as a sub for the last 10 minutes when the team is 3-0 down that wont do anything for his development and confidence

For me Debryne must stay, he is better than must of us think and is not gonna be another Lukaku as he is more polished, btw, he is almost, i see him as a natural successor of Lamps and can be a perfect back up for Mata next season

I agree with ur assessment on KDB..he must not be loaned,he'l play a part next season,i hope his injury heals quick,i have a feeling He'l awe us with a good performance...I'l be gutted if we dont know how to utilize the embarassment of talent we have within our team...We have the best midfield talent in england mikel,lampard,rammy,romeu,josh,mata,davila,kdb,hazard,marìin.... jeez

It's all about having the balls to play these guys. Kdb, lukaku, josh, piazon are ready to play their parts in our squad for next season. I even think courtois should be back here giving Cech some proper competition, but he won't and we'll end up loosing him, as he won't want to wait the full four years of Cech extension to become no1. I actually think we don't know how to use our young players, do we buy them for the fun of it. Again a lot depends on who the mamanger is and what is his remit. I heard pep was gong to get 2 years with no. Pressure to win anything, do you think another manager would get that.NO is the answer, then that manager will be under pressure to win games and trophies and thus completely ignoring the young guys we have. We have the best academy, the best young players in Europe, it's shows because we've won FA Cups at those levels. I will say one thing, something I've said and will be forever repeating. Take James Anderson as an example, england are 2-0 up against the windies, so they have won the series, they decide to give him a rest and that gives another player who doesn't play often but with lots of talent the opportunity to show what he's got on a big stage. Now Anderson may not like it, but it's been done because he is at an age where England need him to be fit for the riggers of the summer ahead. Rotation and communication and understanding are the key, perhaps certain players at our club could take heed from this example. You don't always have to play the small games, let someone else have a chance.
