On Goes the Belgian Revolution

So it appears we've signed three more Belgian players.

Tika, Lamisha and, most excitingly, Charly Musonda.

The three brothers are set to sign from Anderlecht for an unknown fee. It appears that Arsenal and Man City were after them with Arsenal in the latter stages of talks when Roman and his crew stepped in to ruin the signing and steal them for us.

Tika, 18, is a defensive midfielder with good prospects, I suspect with the right training he could come good.

Meanwhile, Lamisha, 20, is a central midfielder, who in 3 appearances at the U-21 Euro Championships managed to gain 1 assist. Again with the right training he could come good, although he is reaching an age at which you'd hope he'd already be quite strong.

But the most exciting prospect is Charly Jr. (his father is also Charly Musonda, and also played for Anderlecht), 15, touted to be following the path of Eden Hazard with a similar style of play and a very high level of potential.

He plays as a quite attacking midfielder, with the ability to play pretty much anywhere within the midfield. Being only 15 however, I had a tough job finding any footage of him so the best I could do is this:

It appears we truly are playing the long game, this is another youth team signing and another bit of brotherly love after the many young players signed in recent times (including the 3 MK Dons brothers, Patrick Bamford and I guess we can include Lucas Piazon in it too, although, that wasn't quite so recent).

It appears that they may take our William Gallas, but they'll never take, our Belgiannns (said in Braveheart style)... Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Nonetheless it seems we have a new era forming which will be littered with Belgian and South American stars. (especially with rumours ripe about the possible signing of either Marouane Fellaini or Moussa Dembele.

How'd you feel about that?

Would you rather we be chasing Spanish or English youngsters?

I'm getting fed up with this policy. And to be honest, Kakuta at 15 looked like an even so good prospect, although Charly looks more like a team player than him. Oh well...we shall see.

Honestly we should have gotten only Charly, the other two are kinda old.

@FrLamp, as in you'd rather us be getting players ready for success now? Or you'd rather us stop buying the "next Messi's" who often end up not fulfilling their potential?

I think it depends on the young lads, no matter how talented you are if you are not hardworking you might not become a great footballer, CR7 was talented and very hardworking,DD was always training hard and trying to improve his skills, Betrand is talented and i heard he trains really hard and wants to become the best, Piazon and Chalobah are also very hardworking they work on their skills and want to get better. Kakuta is talented but his body language on the pitch is poor. The board is trying to give these guys the oppurtunity to be world class players and i think they are doing the right thing, but they need to take it slow and focus more on the first team for now as we have more than enough talents in the Academy for now.

All these brilliant youngsters signed, and still only Bertrand and Sturridge have been given chances. We got a transfer ban because of Kakuta and he isn't even being given a proper chance.

Why do we even bother when we all know they‘ll be loaned, loaned some more, loaned again then replaced with 32million pound Munain,33mill pound Brazilian Oscar and 30mill pound Ross Barkely.

ALL OF YOU NEED TO LOOK AHEAD! At one point or another, Roman is going to leave us, and we may not be fortunate enough to buy the biggest players in world football, like we can now. BUYING THESE PLAYERS IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. Just look at Piazon, Feruz and Todd Kane. Remember these names...they'll soon be stars for us. Charly is a good buy.

looks like all the youngsters have choose the wrong path coming suspecting that piazon also feel the same once after we sign marin and then hazard and probably hulk maybe walcott and bla bla the end of the day, they will realise that they need to move on and go to other clubs that gives them a proper chance. if i were one of them, i will never come to chelsea..yes i know that chelsea academy is one of the best in the world but our graduate will never get a proper whats the point? want to become a feeder club?

We are understandable targeting young players mainly because they are cheaper young than when they are "more matured". The point of an academy is to identify such and develop them and while we've identified, development hasn't been as forthcoming.

What we really need now is a proven youth pro-manager to integrate them. Someone who's worked with youth players and understands their tendencies, mentality and has been successful in assimilating them into the 1st team.

All these young players we sign will have to work hard to get into the first team its simple as that, we moan about these players not getting chances imo its up to them to step up the club ppl are not fools are they those players get to the highest with not just skills hardwork is just as important, if we get one such player fom the youth team am sures the rest will know what it takes to reach tht leave and will follow suit, and its also numbers game if we buy one good player we cant expect him to become a star at the same time if we have a brigade of the you are guaranteed to get there, personally what the club is doing is right for me, the reason we dont believe the youth system is becuase of the result which is abysmal, bide yoir time the day will we'll hail the system

18 & 20 may not be old, but in 3 years time, if they don't break into the squad(before which they'll sent on numerous loans, they will be branded as failures after which they'll move to a lesser club & become stars. Remember Fabio Borini, He's part of Italy's squad for the Euro's...

The best way to nurture young talent is let them play "liberally" then control the liberty. These players perform because they are "free" and if you leave them to a "bondage" Manager we'll always be buying for higher and selling lesser. I know just the manager who's the best at this :)

Mq, what are you on about? Terry was exceptional and got his break as a 20 year old. How many players under the age of 20 played more than 2 premiership games last season? There is no best way to nurture a player as they all develop at different rates. It has always been the case that it is the player that needs to put the work in and demonstrate he deserves an opportunity.

They wanted only one in Charly Musonda Jr and the conditions to get him was to get the brothers too. It will be a stepping stone for them to get time in EPL, but in another team.
