On Goes the Belgian Revolution
So it appears we've signed three more Belgian players.
Tika, Lamisha and, most excitingly, Charly Musonda.
The three brothers are set to sign from Anderlecht for an unknown fee. It appears that Arsenal and Man City were after them with Arsenal in the latter stages of talks when Roman and his crew stepped in to ruin the signing and steal them for us.
Tika, 18, is a defensive midfielder with good prospects, I suspect with the right training he could come good.
Meanwhile, Lamisha, 20, is a central midfielder, who in 3 appearances at the U-21 Euro Championships managed to gain 1 assist. Again with the right training he could come good, although he is reaching an age at which you'd hope he'd already be quite strong.
But the most exciting prospect is Charly Jr. (his father is also Charly Musonda, and also played for Anderlecht), 15, touted to be following the path of Eden Hazard with a similar style of play and a very high level of potential.
He plays as a quite attacking midfielder, with the ability to play pretty much anywhere within the midfield. Being only 15 however, I had a tough job finding any footage of him so the best I could do is this:
It appears we truly are playing the long game, this is another youth team signing and another bit of brotherly love after the many young players signed in recent times (including the 3 MK Dons brothers, Patrick Bamford and I guess we can include Lucas Piazon in it too, although, that wasn't quite so recent).
It appears that they may take our William Gallas, but they'll never take, our Belgiannns (said in Braveheart style)... Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Nonetheless it seems we have a new era forming which will be littered with Belgian and South American stars. (especially with rumours ripe about the possible signing of either Marouane Fellaini or Moussa Dembele.
How'd you feel about that?
Would you rather we be chasing Spanish or English youngsters?
