14/06/12 - Euro 2012 Match Day Moments

14/06/12 - Euro 2012 Match Day Moments

And so this competition rumbles on and on………but I have to ask am I the only one who is losing what little interest he had, very fast?

Last night, with Holland taking on Germany in what should have been the fixture of the tournament, so far, I had great trouble keeping my attention fixed on the match, instead of my lap-top.

But one thing I did notice is that Mario Gomez seems to have rediscovered his scoring form. Such a shame (not), that he couldn`t hit a barn-door at the Allianz Arena on May 19th.

So what`s on the menu tonight?

Well Spain takes on Ireland and, if Del Bosque decides to field a striker, we may get to see Fernando again but I fear that we`ll be kept waiting for a glimpse of Juan Mata.

That`s closely followed by Croatia taking on Italy and with Uncle Harry packing his bags, at White Hart Lane, this morning, could we be one of the clubs having a vested interest in a certain Luka Modric, or has that time long gone?

Either way, on the entertainment scale, I reckon tonight won`t be one of the tournaments better nights but then again I might be wrong, so tune in and add to our growing comments thread.

Curious to see the line up Spain puts put. Don't think it's necessary to go with the 4-6-0 again, so who will be deployed at CF?

Wonder how badly Milan regret opting for Seedorf over Pirlo right now. I'm Pretty sure Ibrahimovic would've had his nine straight league win by now if they had managed to keep Pirlo out of Torino.

TORRES!!!! If he misfires today, I will lose all hope.. :( Whatever people say, he was looking fantastic in the last game.. Comapre that with Cristina to get an idea.. People talk about the two chances he got as if they are sitters... Go eL Nino! Please show us some light at the end of the tunnel.. :P

Yeah! They weren't sitters and he created the chances for himself with the runs which the spanish midfielders couldn't do for themselves so it's definitely the right choice for Torres to start in this game.

Delbosque offered torres the best mates today. If he has to score today, because there is no need for him to shift right/left to help create chance like he does with Chelsea. Elnino, no more room for excuse, you gotta shoot at the goal everytime the opportunity occurs. Good luck body!

Not sure it's the right choice to start Torres, but glad to see Spain playing more progressive. Unfair for Negredo and Llorente that they do not get an opportunity after their seasons.

stamfordblues5... Negredo wasnt that great towards the end of the season... Llorente too was too tired to play in the final stages of the season (Del rey included) and it was blamed on Bielsa playing the same XI most of the time.. Torres was playing better towards the season end... Apart from all that acc to all spanish pundit Torres has been terrific in the training throughout.. So there is a reason why Del Bosque is opting for him despite Llorente having had a much better season..!

F9T... I hate to be rude, but you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to Negredo. He scored 8 goals in his last 9 games for Sevilla. Seriously, look at the stats. Also, it's clear you are a fan of Torres and it seems impossible for you to be unbiased when talking about him.
