Target Undecided?

Target Undecided?

One name mentioned as a possible recruit to assist with our apparent lack of depth at right back is the Lille French international defender Mathieu Debuchy.

Debuchy, also tracked by Newcastle, features in the press this morning with the Lille coach, Rudy Garcia, explaining that his club has rejected a bid of £4 million from Tyneside as being derisory but also indicating that the player, if the right deal comes along could leave, explaining,

"He`s torn between staying with us to play in the Champions League in our new stadium or going elsewhere."

"If he does go and it`s a sporting progression, we`re happy to see him evolve."

"But we`ve certainly not made any plans to replace him."

Personally, I`m torn between which way I think this one might turn out, it wouldn`t surprise me if he did come but then again I wouldn`t be that disappointed if he remained at Lille, but just perhaps, the thought of playing with Eden Hazard might be enough to make his mind up.

He isn't a bad player at least better than Bosingwa, watched some of his teams Ligue 1 matches and I think he is decent enough to wear the blue shirt considering we can get him for between 6-10m depending on our negotiation.

@SOJOF...Bosingwa was a Champs League winner (and multi-Portuguese League winner) when he joined us. What has DeBuchy won to suggest he's better than Bosingwa??

i cnt believe people want a right back who attacking skills should be like messi and his defending skills should be like terry....guys be in reality you wont get a complete player there wil be one or two loop holes in any players....wether its his in attacking skill or in its defending skills....so dnt think you wil find a player who is 100% perfect....every player wil have some default in them....

Honestly i hadn't even heard of him till the euro qualifiers. Piszczek on the other hand i have watched a lot of at Dortmund - that guy is class.

im tired of us watching a player for 3 games at a tournament then everyone on vital chelsea coming on and saying he amazing lets buy him! you cannot and shouldnt scout a player then buy after a good tournament! they can muster all there energy and play out there skin for 3-4 games then be total tripe when they sign and the season begins! i dont know why we need another right back while we have ivanovic and ferreira as his back up! plus toddy kane!

@Mq, sincerely Debuchy is good am not saying we should buy him at all cost and for what he has won at least he has one Ligue 1 title to his name with Lille from upper season.

It is like someone wants him and we are left to speculate or is it that they wants to show Porto that they are not ready to be reaped off and wants them to use it as a bait to convince them to sell Hulk to chelsea

Its very obivious we in d market for a right-back and with ivanovic also a back-up CB and todd kane expected to make d progression into d 1st in 2-3 years time, i say Debunchy and Piszczek are our best options available. They of d 27 years age range and ve been consistent for their clubs and ve won trophies too. Personally i would prefer d polish but its seems we would be going for Debunchy which is ok. Ferriera may be allowed to see out his contract but him & hutch cant provide enough cover and competition to iva and we should rush kane.

I wasn't sure about him, but one of my friends who is a big fan of the French league told me he is very solid in defence and has excellent positional sense, and we have seen he is also fast and skillful. I have been impressed with his performances so far in the Euros.

so you base your "faith" on a friends perception SAMEX?? What has DeBuchy won to "rate" him better than Bosingwa??....*being a Chelsea fan*

so guys as much as i have seen from him - about 25 to 35 games last season, i can clearly say that he is a very solid and quick defender....in going forward he is no alves (which is good i think) and i also think for that value we should at least bid for him and have a look if we haven a chance! The chance we dont have by lukas piszek! he is dortmund bound....just read an interview with their manager - there is no way we get this guy!!!!! but lets wait and see

i'd rather see debuchy than VDW atleast debuchy can cross the ball i dont want ro compare them but well imo debuchy is perfect for CFC

I'd rather see ivanovic keep his place as first choice right back. Ferreira as back up and Kane nurtured to take over. Not get debuchy or van der Weil who will just give Kane even less chance of a break through.

@MQ Sagna has not won as much as Bossman, but does that make Bossman better than him?? Isla has not won what Bossman has won but he is better than Bossman. Piczek is 5 times better than Bossman, that he is not a UCL winner does not make Bossman better. You dont think before you speak and thats your problem, the fact that Hillario is a UCL winner does not make him better than Manuel Neuer. Think, for God sake

@MQ if someone comes to you and ask you about Terry's qualities and you tell him all you know, don't you expect the person to believe you as you watch Terry every now and then and you know if he is world class or not, you know his strenghts and weaknesses. That friend of my is a big fan of the French league and watch their games very often so why shouldn't i believe him.
