I have to say that the first two quarter-finals appear to be the appetizers ahead of the main course.
Although the first semi-final was entertaining, with Portugal squeezing past the Czech Republic, the second one (tonight) doesn`t fascinate me.
Germany should squeeze through against the plucky Greeks but the quarter-finals really ignite, for me, when Spain play Francey (on Saturday) and England take on Italy (on Sunday).
We`ll focus on the latter quarter-final from tomorrow onwards and discuss the Chelsea implications, but first, as the excitement builds relating to France trying to knockout the reigning World and European champions, our very own Florent Malouda has given a few quotes to the press about our very own Fernando Torres.
Reading between the lines, it looks as if the French are a little wary of our £50 million striker with Malouda commenting to the media,
"Fernando finished the season strongly with great determination."
"He has a lot of desire to show he is still one of the best strikers."
"The Euros are a perfect showcase for him to prove this and return to Chelsea an even stronger player."
"It will be very difficult for us because in Fernando we meet a player who has won the previous European Championship and World Cup."
"He can score two or three goals and makes great runs."
"Fernando will be a true menace - we must make sure he does not shine."
Although there`s still some way to go before the game kicks off, can anyone see a result other than a, comprehensive Spanish win?
