'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Rare Treasure

For those who are heavily into collecting football memorabilia, especially that relating to Chelsea, our Swedish correspondent, lindy, sent me this info.

Apparently, one of his readers has the ball that was used in the 1998 European Cup Winners Cup Final, up for sale, or as the article published on CSFC.SE point sout,

Cup Winners Cup Final match ball

I have been contacted by one of the ball boys, who was 14 years old at the time, the Cup Winners' Cup Final at the Råsunda Stadium in 1998, a match where Chelsea won the trophy beating Stuttgart with a goal from Gianfranco Zola.

It was Chelsea's second victory in the Cup Winners' Cup and it was in the second last final ever played in the tournament.

The ball boy took care of the ball after the game and also managed to get several signatures from Chelsea players on it:

Frank Leboeuf
Dennis Wise (captain)
Roberto Di Matteo
Gianluca Vialli
Gianfranco Zola
Tore André Flo

Now the ball is for sale.

If you are interested you can contact the seller directly by e-mail through lindy`s site. Then you can get more information and hear about the price and other things. We recommend that you contact him as soon as we got to know that there might be more interested.

So there you have it, see below for further access details,

The article itself can be found on http://www.csfc.se and at the right hand menu - Matchboll till salu (is the link).

There is also a link to the seller at the end of the article. KONTAKT it says and links through the webbrowser-email client

You never know, at the right price a piece of Chelsea history could be yours!
