'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Narrow Escape!

Called into the England squad, as a replacement for Kieran Gibbs, everything looked rosy for Ryan Bertrand yesterday.

His meteoric rise to the top appeared to be set to continue but, unfortunately, there was a slight hiccup yesterday.

Ryan awoke with a sore throat and was confined to his hotel room whilst the England squad trained and then met Prince William and his lovely wife, Kate, as they officially opened the new St George`s training facility just outside Burton.

Probably a quite sensible precaution, after all we wouldn`t want royalty to be sent back to London with a throat infection, an infection that the hacks would, no doubt, lay firmly and squarely on the shoulders of Chelsea Football Club!
