More on that Cole Apology

More on that Cole Apology

And so, after a large slice of humble pie has been eaten, Ashley Cole is available for selection for England this Friday, when they entertain San Marino.

Cole, who apologized personally to David Bernstein has, in doing so, alleviated Roy Hodgson of a problem he was looking forward to dealing with.

Speaking about the change in events, Hodgson has remarked,

"The chairman has gracefully accepted the apology from Ashley. I know how disappointed and saddened he is with the situation."

"This is a player with 98 caps who has hardly ever missed a game for England when he`s been regarded as one of the best, if not THE best left-back in the world for years."

"No one would commit his commitment to the shirt, which makes his contribution the greater that he might have put his position in jeopardy. I`m glad he hasn`t done that."

"I was always hoping he and the chairman would sort it out between them and I wouldn`t have to make a decision of this magnitude."

So can we take it from that Ashley is set to pick up cap number 99?

Ash did the wise thing here to offer a total and unreserved mea culpa to the FA. I felt more bad for poor Uncle Roy having to grovel to apologize to Rio because of his ill advised words on the tube..well at least when all said and done Rio still cannot even smell the bench of the three lions even with JTs voluntary retirement from international footy while Ash, the player Rio instigated his little brother to also insult by refusing to shake his hand despite their prior many years of friendship continues to command a starting position with the three lions..that is satisfaction enough for me..as if to add to the karma being served in all this..even after buying a whole new team of players (12 new signings to be clear), Antons team QPR still sit dead last in the BPL with only two points so far this season and Anton himself is still out injured..ironically enough injured since their game with us and really the only thing he has contributed to that team this season is the "hand shake gate" melodrama. The only one regret i have is that we were one of the two teams so far to have gifted QPR a point..other than that Karma has been fully served and may it continue right to the end of the season with QPR finally hopefully going back to the championship.

We gifted them a 100% record because we got our selections wrong that day, I really wish they relegate, but sadly it might not happen, sparky is a bit good as a coach and that QPR team has quality

He will get the chances for sure. He must play more than 100 games for his country while still at chelsea.
