After the boring international games and friendlies, we all hope at vital here that our players remain fit and injury free.
Injuries are a cause for concern and sincerely I for one wait with trepidation and anxiety till the break is over to access the squad and what damage control would be needed if any of our first teamers are unfortunately injured.
Alas guys, let us be optimistic and not filled with despair as our players don't get usually injured on the international stage.
Spurs are a team that are on form and are among a few of us playing good football presently in the league, they have good players in Dembele, Dempsey, Sigurdsson, Sandro, Vertoghen and a dangerous Defoe, to ignore their attacking threat would be suicidal, but a weakness we can explore will be their defence, which is nothing to write home about if not for the brilliance of Brad Friedel.
AVB will definitely be out for a revenge mission, but we can easily peg him back if we remain focused and use the right player selection.
Spurs is a team that thrive on pace and I envisage a highly entertaining game and bookings as usual, if RDM wins this game, it will announce us as firm title contenders and if we end up coming with a point which is more likely since the teams are always competitive between themselves.
Another line of worry will be that most Spurs players won't be participating as much as our players internationally, so RDM needs to be careful and wary of spurs abundant energy.
Moreover, we have a game that is as fierce as Spurs game in the Champions League against a Shaktar Donestk side which have not been beaten in 30 games in all competitions, a team that drew with a high flying Juve team in their home ground and was just unlucky not to have bagged the 3 points at stake. They have players who won't be going to any international games too and will have two weeks of more training and rest, players like William, Texeira, Costa and whoever they have there are fantastic players that don't have international commitments yet, so we need to be careful both in their home and away game to us, after which we'll host Man Utd in a double header both in the Premier League and Capital One Cup.
I think it is safe to say that the honeymoon is over for both RDM and Chelsea, now is the time for all Chelsea players to earn their pay and show the quality in face of stiff oppositions.
What is your take guys?
Can we triumph in this game rush?
