Lampard and Bertrand Ruled Out!

Frank Lampard and Ryan Bertrand will not take part in England's match vs San Marino tomorrow due to injury.

Both will return to Cobham to train over the weekend and will meet up with the England squad later in the hope that they will both be ready and available for the game against Poland on Tuesday.

Lampard is suffering from a knee injury he picked up against Norwich, whilst Bertrand remains ill after he missed out on the chance to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge earlier in the week.

Bertrand hit out at critics on Twitter, who thought a sore throat was a poor excuse to pull out of the England squad by saying,

'Just to clarify.... It`s not a 'sore throat' I`m ill. Swollen glands in my neck... And constant headache for 3 days now and freezing cold,' 'Do you think a 'sore-throat' could stop me being apart of a match for my club or country #yourf***ingnuts this is what every boy dreams of.'

Personally I think it's a great shame that both will miss this game. Despite it being relatively good news for Chelsea, this match was a great opportunity for Bertrand to show Hodgson what he's made of, and for Frank to continue adding to his impressive cap list. Thankfully both should be available for the big game in Warsaw on Tuesday.

Its not great. They both are proud to be part of England squad and must feel pretty bad they can't play. Betrand should be ok for Poland game but Lampard is likely to miss few weeks.

Lampard should play, england needs him and about betrand's tweets, I hope it doesn't put him in trouble like ashley cole's tweets, I heard he deleted his tweeter account.

The FA has issued a statement on Ashley Cole and a misconduct charge, plus there is further news on Ryan Bertrand 's illness. The statement on Cole reads: ' Ashley Cole has admitted an FA charge in relation to a Twitter comment which was improper and/or brought the game into disrepute. 'Cole has requested a non-personal hearing, the date of which has yet to be set' Cole is currently with the England squad ahead of Friday evening's match against San Marino however Bertrand withdrew on Thursday morning and returned to Chelsea. He will be reassessed on Sunday ahead of England's World Cup qualifier against Poland on Tuesday. The news of Bertrand's condition is he has a systemic viral infection.

All this twitter nonsense could have been avoided if the FA had just said to start with he had a Systemic Viral Infection instead of a bloody sore throat. I mean I'm not condoning his behaviour, it's just plain stupid for him to post that kind of thing, but I can see how you'd get annoyed when people all over the nation were calling him a wimp and less polite terms over the radio, BBC Sportsday, Twitter etc.

Twitter again...for the life of me i dont know why these guys even have twitter accounts and all this other social media stuff..it is just a recipe for trouble..i hope poor Ryan does not pick up a fine or sanction for posting what can be construed as a profanity on his account.

Bertrand still has time and will get his chances no matter the timing. He is the future of chelsea and English football.
