More Guff on Sturridge

More Guff on Sturridge

They`re like a dog with a bone these tabloid journalists aren`t they!

They`ve got this idea in their head and like the dog with the bone, are refusing to let it go.

Once again the tabloid press has little snippets, in their gossip columns, insinuating that Daniel Sturridge is heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door.

However, this time they`ve gone a little further and have actually latched onto a club they believe he`s destined for - Liverpool.

But this is where the solidarity between the red-tops stops.

Whilst one suggests that Sturridge is bound for Liverpool, on loan in January with a view to a permanent deal in the summer, the other calmly informs us that Brendan Rodgers has no intentions of paying a huge fee for Sturridge but wouldn`t mind taking him on loan come the opening of the January transfer window!

I bet he wouldn`t!

I hope he scores plenty wherever he's loaned, maybe we'll just keep him instead (I doubt though as long as RDM is in charge)

Whatever we do Danny should not be loaned out..if we are to sell him much as i object lets get is done quickly and make some money of the deal but to enrich some other club like Liverpool so they can literally have their cake and eat it makes absolutely no sense.

Loanning him will mean bad business. But i for one believe he can impress before January. But in the absence of that ,an outright sell remains expedient and the fund realised used to finance Falcao's acquisition. That won't hurt either.

He wouldn't go on loan. He rejected a loan deal to liverpool at the last transfer window, why'll he accept it now???

Beside.. Why'll chelsea loan him??? For him to improve to our standard? Really bad business if true. Sell him or offer him the money he wants.

I hope he does too @mq.. just wish it was with us rather than at pool or wherever.. I suppose one could argue that a loan move with him banging in goals could put his price up on the plus side? Surely Liverpool would agree a fee though "as an option to buy", if it all worked out. For me hes better than any of the other young talent we have let go in recent times.. I can only hope nothing materialises, and that he and RDM or whoever get over whatever it is that is going on behind the scenes.

I doubt Danny will go on Loan...He rejected the loan move on deadline day this summer. he is looking to move permanently and surely no one is ready to pay more than 15m for him along with the wage demand of 100k per week. Chelsea will sell if they get anything more than 15m..Heard Liverpool are interested in Ba this Jan as his 7m release clause is still active. So, if Liverpool buys Ba and take Danny on Loan, then I can feel that Danny will not see much action at liverpool as well...It is better to sign the extension at chelsea, work hard at training and impress RDM...and finally get rid of ur arrogant attitude...you can learn, develop ur footballing skills at training grounds but not ur attitude.

if we loaned him on the last day of the transfer window would we have retained 1 striker (Torr-Mentor) or bought another in his place?? And what sense would it had made then us loaning out 2 strikers then buying another??

Sturridge crime is his hunger for goal. But is that a crime? Is it not in the DNA of a natural striker to always seek for goal? Are some of the greatest goals in the history of football not the result of selfishness on the part of the scorer; those two goals of Ba at Stamford Bridge last season not result of striker hunger for goal? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying striker should go for goal all the time if he has the better position team mate to pass to, all I'm saying is that Sturridge is just hunger for goal whenever he touch the ball which is a good thing for a striker BUT all he need is direction and guideline on why it is good to pass to team mate sometime. I have read some article where people have rate Welbeck high than Sturridge, well all I will tell you is look at Welbeck performance 3 years back, You will see a player with selfish attitude and who lack dribble skills to take on defender, but look at him now he play for the team more than he play for himself. If the Coach can sit Sturridge down and tell him what he need to improve in his game, we may end up with a striker in half of Thiery Henry. It will be a mistake if will let this boy go.

I just need to see him given time at chelsea. We have lost far much too many young players in recent times and wonder if any player will ever come to chelsea and get the chances. We have only 1 striker at the moment and hope it is the injury that is laying Sturridge back. Am in hope that RDM has plans for him and all that we are reading is what we have been used to.

it's also about club (Management) attitude BLUESARMY and from what I read here I understand (confusingly) about the stance being taken against Sturridge. Our club isn't a developing club, we want 'ready made' sadly

First we should play him. Then we can decide on what to do with him by january when we have seen what he can do after been played as a striker

Club will want players who play for the team, show their commitment...otherwise, they dont waste money on Piazon, Lukaku, KDB (combined we paid about 30m pounds)...So, dont say chelsea want only 'ready-made' options...RDM and his team should have seen something in sturridge which is not good and which he is not correcting in the training sessions...we can wait for the development of a player only if he has the right attitude..

22yr old, 65k per wk, expects 100k per wk, got no confidence from his coach (maybe he is not showing his commitment in the training ground), but wants first team chance ahead of a striker who works his a** of to help the team???? Thanks..Sturridge...either sign the extension and prove ur abilities or you can move away...

Atletico's Adrian Lopez might be a good option. Mata can convince him, coz arsenal're going 4 him.
