What Does the Future Hold for Oscar?
Does anyone know just how good Oscar can become?
Is he just a talented youngster or is he on the verge, over a period of time, set to become one of the best midfielders our game has seen?
It`s very rare that I get so excited about any one player, I`ve learnt over the years that as you mature your thoughts become more rationalized.
But Oscar is different.
Everything about him oozes class and for somebody so young he`s settled into life at Chelsea Football Club with consummate ease.
His movement around the pitch allied with that touch of class we normally don`t see, belies his age, but perhaps the best thing about Oscar is that you get the belief that he`s generally pleased to be at Stamford Bridge.
This morning, in one of the tabloid newspapers, there are a few comments that illustrate that point perfectly with Oscar attributed as having remarked,
"It`s a pleasure to play for a team which attacks like this."
"I`m Brazilian so, of course, I like playing this style of football a lot."
"It makes me happy to be part of a team playing this way."
"It`s very important to me to enjoy my football and to be with a club with such a philosophy."
"I have already struck up a good understanding with Juan Mata and Eden Hazard and our relationship is improving with every match we play together."
"After every 90 minutes we feel as though we have a better understanding of each others game and, hopefully, there is much more to come from us."
Now that is something to whet the appetite, the prospect of the trio getting better and better only augers well for Chelsea Football Club.
Naturally, any interview with the youngster, so soon after Wednesday`s triumph over Shakhtar Donetsk, just had to mention that exquisite goal he scored with Oscar adding,
"Yes, that was a beautiful goal. I`ve not scored many better than that in my career and it`s definitely the first time I`ve scored form that sort of distance."
"All four of my goals so far for Chelsea have come in the Champions League but that doesn`t mean I`ve found it easier to play in Europe than the Premier League. I feel as though I`ve settled in well to both competitions. The most important thing is I am adapting to Chelsea and to my team mates and I have to keep the process going."
Could Oscar be an early candidate for our player of the season or, if this form continues, could he achieve something much higher, when the individual awards are handed out at the end of the season.
