Well that told it as it is didn`t it!
At the pre-match press conference, ahead of the clash with Liverpool this Sunday, Roberto Di Matteo laid it on the line as far as John Terry goes.
Those expecting our club captain to be an automatic inclusion in the first team were left reeling in their seats when Di Matteo remarked,
"John is a fantastic player and a great defender. He will continue to be our captain and leader when he plays"
"I am aware of what he means. I know the history of the club and the players, and I`ve known JT since he was a very young man."
"He will be a big asset for us, on and off the pitch and I`m glad he`s back. Now we can focus on football. That`s good for us."
"But I don`t think anybody is guaranteed a starting place. All the players have to work and fight for their place in the team."
Now I wonder if a certain Andre Villas-Boas is watching, listening and learning!
It seems there`s a way of doing things and a way of not doing things.
