Match Day Moments - Liverpool (h)
It`s fair to say that the last three home games we`ve experienced have been real humdingers with a plethora of goals, action galore and last minute goals to raise the roof.
Will today be the same, as Liverpool come to Stamford Bridge, or will it be one of those staid clashes we used to have with the mickey-mousers when Jose Mourinho was in charge?
Either way we need the three points if we`re going to hang on to the shirt-tails of a Manchester United side that came back from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 last night.
So why not join us for our usual Match Day Moments thread whereby we discuss the starting eleven selected by Roberto Di Matteo, the possible tactics to be deployed and all the action as it unfurls, it`ll be a scream!

hopefully Torres going to start from the bench for this one, available stat. suggests his performances for Chelsea against his former clubs have been abysmal and in the spirit of giving other players opportunities to show their ability and help the team, i think its about time someone gave Torres a challenge for that first striker spot, we are behind Manu on the league table largely because we havent got a striker to salvage the team from difficult situations, a situation like the one Manu found themselves in at Fulham yesterday before the 'little pea' contrived a winning formular that saves the manures.

Cesar can match sterlng 4 speed so stat him out LB, ivan can handle downing or suso.. Cahill/terry 4 suarez ( cool heads needed there).. Of the 3 muskateers mata is the key soo he stats, moses and marin speedy, good movers and eye for goal plus the added surprise... Sturidge is a jack in the box.... Tough game today.... the only game I have been worried about..... I think what Chelsea have done with their squad is quality just need 2 or 3 players to be complete. I think it will be tight and it will go down to if you can keep Suarez quite or not his on form and looks hungry for more. If you can do that then that's half your job done the other half is breaking us down you got the players to do that but our defence is been getting better as the season has gone on. Anyways good luck for the rest of the season

I won't mind if torres is not started, he can be used maybe later in the game, or watch what he is going to do and yank him off at the 65mins if he aint doing well, I still see him as the only puzzle we don't have answers to yet, but if by miracle he gets to have a good game, then we can expect atleast a goal or an assist, but with giroud banging in a brace yesterday, who knows if torres will get a hat-trick or a brace too

Not a bad starting line up for Chelsea. With matches coming thick and fast I suppose RDM has to do his best to keep his team fresh to challenge on all fronts. He can't win with any team he picks with some fans as they have their favourites but he's a clever man RDM and will have picked a side looking at the coming weeks fixtures too. Would have started Moses instead of Hazard to keep him fresh though.

Cahill played against Spurs, Man U twice, Swansea and Shaktar in the space of 2 weeks- I suppose he's been rested. Although Ivanovic did play well against Swansea so RDM has possibly gone with two experienced heads as his CB pairing. Either way there is healthy competition at Chelsea at the back- shame it can't be said about up front.

David Luiz is out because of illness. Would have expected Cahill to start alongside. Ivanovic and JT are bit slow for Suarez's movement. I really hope Suarez doesn't skin them alive. With Van Persie's performance, Chichi and now Dzeko's performance, Torres has to look at the mirror and be ashamed of his performances lately. He really has got to step up with the fixture list getting crazier and more difficult.

Our game looks dull and lack urgency, I just hope we keep the lead and try to get that 2nd goal. As per the game, we had our chances. Mata should have passed it to Hazard at the end of 1st half, that would have been the game winner. So so disappointed. We are playing without a striker really. Torres is so poor. I mean it is out of any stretch of imagination he can not score whatever you give him. Ok 1 can argue he did not get clear cut chance today. Well if he will score if the goal is presented with a plate then there are plenty of others who can do a better job. The Dzeko goal today, Harnandez goals yesterday underlines what a striker can do. He will win you matches. Torres is the reason we will not win the league this season. We have only ourselves to blame.

We had our chances to kill this game early on. No criticism due on Robbie this time around. He made the subs and they were ineffective. Simple as that. Well actually, any manager being third in the league with Champions League winners (actually this team is better than the UCL winners, except for Drogba) should be criticized. A 24-point total from 11 games is just not championship-winning form. But if our ambition this year is to finish in the top 4 then we're certainly on the right track and the manager is the best for that job.

Talented midfielders control matches, talented in form strikers win you points. What the Manchester clubs are doing is the perfect example. It's not just luck. I think we have only two options. One is to buy another striker and sit Torres, or use him in a two striker system. I just can't see anyone wanting not only to buy Torres, but to pay him his salary either. Maybe we should ring City and ask them which striker they like least...

So much for the winter slump. Maybe we re expecting much from the young and rebuilding team, maybe the coach is still understanding the rudiments of the game. We were not clinical,apparent enough, but then we are a better side to what we were this time last year. A STRIKER is need urgently,Torres is lost and we are losing studge too as a result of lack of game time,moses and romeu too. We do need to play to our strength onwards.
