Surplus to Requirements

After Chelsea signed Marko Marin, for £7 million, from Werder Bremen, it was perceived that the player would be the answer to our lack of a wide-man.

However, the 23 year-old has failed to make any sort of impact under Roberto Di Matteo and despite having put pen-to-paper on a five year contract, rumours have appeared in one Sunday tabloid linking the German international with a return to the Bundesliga.

One club that has popped up as a clear favourite to take him, possibly on loan in January are Borussia Monchengladbach, a club where Mario started and spent four seasons.

Rumour or impending truth?

We`ll soon see!

I hope its not true.. I really want to see him play & succeed here.

Marin has got what it takes, I will be disappointed to see him leave, as I want him to be a huge success here. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

I read that news,its more like a wish or should i call it a dream by the Glabach chairman. One which certainly wil not come to pass. Something tells me there is strong plans for Marin,one that even the fans and other teams don't know about. He is just another player i don't want us to give up on. Though at present,it may appear the deal favour W.Bremen more, they gave us an injury prone player who has been inactive, took some amount from us,also secured a hugely active player who has been performing for them.

I strongly hope MArin gets over whatever problems/injuries he has and beomes a star player for Chelsea. He has huge potential. Lets not sell him prematurely
Blue_Mel
and he hasnt played a game yet. come on at least one full game

*aint going anywhere

guys,,,Marin aint going anyway..he'll soon be unleashed...rdm is a wise and smart coach...he is given the boy absolutely no pressure..fecking brilliant move..the deal is Werder Bremen's loss....special player...lets keep watching...
layorh12
Marin still lacks match fitness to complete games, he hasn't reached the level he was when he played in pre season...

We'll see a little of marko marin today perhaps, so I am sure we won't want to entertain such talks of loaning him out when we see him play

I feel like we bought Marin as a hedge, in case we did not make it into the Champs League for this season and couldn't attract the right players like Harzard or Oscar etc, at the time it was best to have a Mata alternative sowed up as a safety net...now we champs of europe, we have osc-mat-haz who are ahead of Marin, as well as Moses who is doing fine...

We have to put blame for the bad results on Di Mateo,he has not utilised properly the players on the bench.If Marin is in the group for a particular match,it means he is ready,but he hasn't played a single minute after the 6-0 win over Wolves which whas I do not remember when.I am sure that his fitness is OK he could be really helpful to the team and once RDM does realise that he has more than three players on the bench and MAZACAR cannot be on the field at the same time every game,our results will improve dramatically.Marin is a different player from what we already have,he does play wide,which will really benefit the team.Playing with 3 number 10s is a great idea for some matches and and incredibly stupid one for certain games.Excluding the Capital One Cup game vs man united I do not see what was the contribution of Moses in terms of purely winger duties.Di Mateo s insolent enough to talk about rotations,when the attacking part of the team with the two pivotal players are one and the sme in every game that it matters.
Simeon23
We are getting too predictable.....i fear we will end up like barca without a Plan B....RDM needs to correct this
Blu_run
If we keep the trio playing this entire season of transition, then i fear a burn-out for them next season when we expect us to win all the avl trophies...
Blu_run
I laughed when people were calling the signing of Marin a "master stroke" I mean since when has a player being nicknamed "Messi" been sold for such a cutprice??
@Mq
It was obvious from the start that we were getting mugged....
@Mq
His injury history is proving to be a letdown. Hope he comes, picks himself up and start getting the games.
Kendemsblue
Oscar,hazard, and mata need to be rested periodically; i aalso fear a burnout come spring....it would be wise to inject a Moses.....Piazon/one of the Mazcar.....Marin. Play them against teams who are lower in the league
bleedblueSTL
That is true and my concerns also @bleedblueSTL
Kendemsblue
That will give other players the chance to show what they can do and the power of the bench
