Striking a Solution

With an article today (11.11.2012) in the Daily Mail about "Citeh" possibly wanting to sell Mario Balotelli got me thinking about Chelsea`s current striker situation.

See this link:

Now Torres I still like and even now I think he will get better and perhaps really deliver what he has been promising or rather what we think he should be providing. We have been saying this for quite a while but then he is not totally disappointing is he?

His skill on the ball when he gets it still world class and I don`t think that he can be really criticized for what he brings to the team. He still scores goals, not as many as we would like and he does look a bit off the pace but nevertheless he is not that bad that he should be left out. I think he is still worth his place in the team.

And we only have Daniel Sturridge to replace him. Now Daniel is ok but when we look at Man. Utd`s strike force of 4 top class forwards our two don`t compare at the moment. Daniel is not yet a favourite at the Bridge and he still has to somewhat live down his "selfishness" tag although I think he has improved on that when he has played recently.

But let`s face it he is not (yet?) top drawer. All 4 United strikers are at the moment quite a lot better than him are they not? Even Welbeck who is a very good centre forward, although Daniel has been injured for a while this season as we know.

But a solution for both of these problems (if you agree they are problems) is:

A - Swap Torres for Falcao and pay Atletico Madrid say £15-20 million extra. Gives them a bit of cash and solves their striker and cash problem for them at one fell swoop. Atletico Madrid is Torres original club and he would be made very welcome there so personally I don`t think he would have a real problem with that (?) which only he could answer of course. He might want to just call it a day on a (relatively) bad period for him and try again and start anew in the Spanish league.

Falcao is dynamite and would, one would think, slot into Chelsea`s team no problem, like Tevez (who is a similar player) did at Man. Utd. and now City.

B - Swap Daniel Sturridge for Mario Balotelli and maybe again also give Citeh a bit of cash (not much though). Daniel has history there and we would get a top class striker in Balotelli that I am sure RDM could mould into an even better one especially if there are only 2 strikers vying for the 1 position - he would get a lot more games than he does at Citeh.

Yes, I know he is "controversial" but remember his performances in the EM - he is a very good striker as he has also proved in the PL and anyway we welcome "characters" at Stamford Bridge do we not?

So we would end up with Falcao and Mario Balotelli. What do you think Chelsea board (and fans)?

As talented as Balotelli is he still carries quite a personal ego load. For Chelsea image this is not desirable as we carry a lot of wrong kind of "weight already".

Are you crazy? Balotelli is a 4 year old.

no where near Bibitelli.... If we go to city for a striker i'd rather we go for Dzeko...

Balotelli is better than Torres/DS/RL but if he would play for us we will always be in the news for the wrong reasons. Wilfried Bony is as good as Lukaku.

Noooo way! He is not welcome!! Torres needs to go and be replaced, preferably with Falcao. We can not play 4-2-3-1 every game..too predictable. Need a holding midfielder - Fellaini and bring home Lukaku and try to change the set-up to 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 when needed. AVB played the same with his high defence line and RDM is playing his way and the other teams are starting to figure us out now. Look at SAF he can change his set-up and I do not know what he is telling his player in half time but I would be scared stiff!!!!

Torres is the one I will be swapping not Sturridge. Balletoli is a decent striker with traits of becoming a great one if he loses his demons. I doubt we got a coaching crew that can deal with him. If Morhino couldn't, I dont know what coach could.

I like Balotelli demons and all he fits in well with the sort of players we have come to call legends nowadays at our club. He is a class act when he is bothered, Drogba much? Thing is I don't think for one second he loves playing for City despite all the flak he gets in Italy he loves playing there you only need see the performances he put in during the Euro's.

I don't get why people (KAKUFRANK the prime suspect) say Sturridge is a $hit player when we haven't seen him given a proper run of games. The last time he had such a run he turned out to be our highest goal scorer (last season)

We can get another striker and stil maitain torres.mancity have been playing tevez and kun with tevez playing behind kun.torres too can play heind another strike and in such a case we sacrifice one of mazcar.infact torres has been playing too deep in the field just like tevez.the only difference btn them is that tevez in that position is better than torres.

I like Ballotelli, and I think that the anonymity that London would afford him would make him calm down a bit...also there is a calming element in RDM that Mancini doesn't have and the relationship would be no where near as volatile...and he is still young...

Chelsea cannot handle Balloteli. We'd rather swap Falcao with Torres even if we need to add 10millio, so be it. Else let us buy a young and cheap Bony.

Since Fernando Torres moved to Chelsea in January 2011, Radamel Falcao has scored 67 goals in 76 games for Porto and Atletico Madrid. The Colombian moved from Porto to Torres’s old club for £34.7million in August 2011. Torres has scored just 19 goals in 84 games for the Blues.

No to Ballotelli. the bad outwieghs the good with him, plus city would only sell for top dollar. The despite his age also earns a huge salary. As for Dzeko - I thank hes ok, but do we want to spend 25+ mil (considering city bought for 24mil if I recall) for a super sub? That is what he is at city..
