'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The screaming need for a quality striker

There is a proverb in my mother's tongue, which states that:

"A good goalie is half of a team"

but after tonight's disappointing draw against Liverpool I came to realize that actually a good striker is half of a team.

Just look at the situation at Liverpool - they play mediocre throughout the whole game, but all of a sudden Suarez comes out of nowhere and saves the day for them. The situation is similar for the two Manchester giants. City have been extremely poor this season, but individual pieces of brilliance by their strikers helped them to end up in a more advanced position than us in the table.

The same applies to United - how many games they have not been the better team, but whether it is RVP or Chicharito, one of their striker manages to help them snatch the crucial 3 points.

At Chelsea, our midfield outclasses both United and City's ones, but their width in the striking department helps them generate more points than us with our brilliant midfield. This is due to the fact that although they are players of extraordinary quality, they are not born finishers and we have difficulties in front of goal.

We lack the player who will take the responsibility when we are with our backs against the wall, someone who can make the difference between one and three points. At the end of the season these points combined usually determine whether one team will be a champion or not.

I very much hope that the club's management identifies the root of the problem. But after the transfer window we should have a figure in our team, who can single-handedly decide the outcome of the game, because without such a player I am afraid that our title aspirations could be over much sooner than we expect.

KTBFFH!

Rdm persistence with torres would cost him his job just like carlo, and torres is costin us points which wil ultimately reduce our title/top4(whichever u prefer) chances..

I'll be disappointed if that is the case as I want rdm to really suceed, if he blows this, I can bet top dollar on it that none of the elites of european football will hire him, but if he can be sucessful, he'll be mentioned in the same breath as klopp and pep. He has the ability, the personnel, all he needs is to brave up and locate the missing puzzle
Desmondadonis
I believe in RDM. I know he knows what must be done...we in a tough situation but we'll come through...
Gian-Franco/Luca
no team is perfcet, even barcelona in its best season with pep had problems with their goalkeepers, its a shame for chelsea that our problem is nt goalkeepers but rather a quality striker, and thats wat win games, a keeper is important but a keeper that has fantastic defenders and midfielders wont have too much problems, strikers are very important in football, its a big shame for our darling club. but we just have to suport the ones we have at the moment.

Hasselbaink,gudjohnsen,drogba,crespo,anelka... They won us games! The only time I felt torres won us a game is against barca in the UCL, and perhaps the castle game is worth a shout
Desmondadonis
Chelsea needs to change and give the likes of Sturridge a starting chance just to be sure if he can lead it out or not.

noticed Pizarro too scoring some important goals for Bayern like he did previosuly for Weder Bremen...is Chelsea a strikers curse under Roman?? Only Drogba has

I really cannot tell what is wrong with that department, maybe it is a curse from Didier that there is no one who will come and hold onto that position. We will have to try them from the academy like Feruz
