What if his mum was right!

What if his mum was right!

What if the worst thing I can think of happens to us in January?

Namely that Ashley Cole joins Paris St Germain!

I pray it doesn't happen but if it does, its obvious that Ryan Bertrand will be the one to carry on as our left back but who would you guys love as a cover for Bertrand?

As for me, my choice would be a young promising left back, though he will be Champions League tied but we can give him a good run in the Premier League to reduce the risk of Bertrand getting injured in a Premier League match, so he will be safe for the Champions League.

My choice would be Lucas Digne

How about you?

Just names please, I`m not asking you to criticize or compliment the article, I am just asking for your preferred left back cover if Ashley Cole leaves.

It was with this eventuality in mind that we had both Bertrand and PVA prepped. We should not have to buy another LB, PVA should be given the first chance as Bertrand's back up and only if he is found unable to shoulder the load should we consider having to look outside again.

The worst thing that could happen is that he goes to United, but it won't.

If he goes we will have big problem in the champions league cos R.BRD cannot cover there like Cole, but hê should be used spareringly.

wow that is pathetic. hazard11 have u actually seen lucas digne play? (i dont mean youtube clips) or are you judging how great he is by reading transfer gossip. you know nothing about him and want him to replace cole. Cole shd stay at least 1 more yr then bertrand and PVA can take LB

We ve been linked to leigton baines. I thinks we will be good if we can poach him from everton. He is a solid left back and also has some dribbling skills and better goal scoring threat than ashley. However, this might just be a game of who blinks first btwn roman and ashley. If he wants to add more caps to his 99, he might take the one year offer cos out of sight in Paris, may defintely be out of mind for Roy. No need jumping on the eurostar when you have credible options at home.

The club's not stupid to release a player without cover again...We'll get a replacement with lesser salary demands and who doesn't think he's the best thing to happen to the club

If we sign someone like baines, then what's the point of having a youth system in place?

At best you'll sign nothing. That's because you Ash with go PSG, Bertrand will be no.1 and your priority will be up top.

Between Kalas and PVA I would rather have Kalas if he can play on the left side. Kalas appears to be a better longer term prospect and he can play center back as well. With Iva and Cesar on the right I would hate to see Kalas buried without ever a 1st team opportunity. But, I don't know if Kalas can play on the left side.
