Torres to Be Dropped?

Could the unthinkable happen?

Could the very person who stamped his feet, after a disappointing season last time out and who was, more-or-less, guaranteed a starting place this season, be relegated to the bench?

Well the prospect is very much on with Roberto Di Matteo, in the aftermath of a loss at the Hawthorns and another disappointing display from our record signing, Fernando Torres, remarking to the media hounds,

"I need to think about making changes. If I believe leaving out Torres is the right thing to do, I`ll do it."

"We will have to assess the whole team and see how everybody is, and how they have recovered."

"But if I believe it is the right thing to do for the team, then yeah, I will leave him out."

"I thought when we moved Daniel up there he looked a danger. He had a very good chance saved by the keeper and another put wide."

"He was always a threat to the defence - we need to score goals."

Damn right we do!

In our case, currently more than we are conceding!

How RDM handles this may end up being the decision that decides this match..we must have an effective striker who can convert virtually all the few chances we will get in the match against juve and i dont think El Nino is that player..It will be a momentous decision but for this game i think RDM should start Danny down the middle with MAZACAR behind him.

It's taken too long. Studge is better than El nino for sure and he can save di Matteo his job. Right step.

better late than never.....torrresss has complety lost it....i thought this was the season for his come back...and i tought he should be given chance till jan but i dont saw any zing in him...whenever i saw him in the field he looks like a lost man no spirit no passion....i think he needs to leave chelsea for his own benefit as well for chelsea benefit also.....chelsea should go for damio he looks like a perfect replacement who can score goals..he looks like in the mould of van persi.....chelsea should defenitly sell torres or send him on loan and should buy damio...

Chelsea's problem is not torres and luiz alone, if u can't see that then I wonder who will?

I am sorry to break this news to our fans, torres and luiz are not the only problem of cfc, our problems are far more deep rooted than that. The whole team is tired, they lack that drive and are so inexperienced.

@desmond,torres is our biggest problem,if he is prolific enough with all the chances and gametime he had many of our squad players would have gotten enough gametime on their belt therefore givin mazacar much needed rest but its never so because we are either chasin a game or tryin to protect a one goal lead

Torres inept performances are costing us it is certainly pleasing seeing RDM make the changes. I just hope we get him of our payroll in Jaunary for good a loan is not worth talking about.

@Desmond Torres and Luiz are our two major problems, end of.imagine how many points we could have salvaged so far without them, cant we nick a win even while playing bad like the manchesters.

Torres isn't a number 9 , hell luiz is more of a number 9 than our 'poor 175k a week nando'. a benching should be a kick in the arse to him , score or get out!(I love torres but this has to be done sorry.)

Torres has lost his confidence. He is dragging the entire team down. He still plays well for the teammates, it seems that he forgot that he is spear-heading the attack. Something is wrong on his head. So, it is better for us to drop him and play sturridge who is very hungry for proving his abilities. Today's match is very critical for us...Minimum required is a draw...If we lose, then we are out of CL...

Juventus will play the same way they did and the same way Liverpool played. It is a defensive approach but very dangerouse on counter attack.
