Does anyone else find it annoying when one of those who was most responsible for the inept way we defended, against West Bromwich Albion, on Saturday, steps forward and beats the drum stating the bleeding obvious.
Without the calming influence of John Terry alongside him, David Luiz`s contributions, in recent games, have bordered on the erratic and perhaps the Brazilian might have been better served concentrating on his own game rather than offering his views, to the media, after the defeat at the Hawthorns, with the erratic defender(?) remarking,
"We were angry and upset after the game on Saturday because we should have won."
"It`s normal to have raised voices after a result like that because this is a big club and we don`t like losing."
"We had the chances to win but we missed the moment and all we can do now is look ahead to the next game."
Ah!
Now that`s the small matter of facing a Juventus team, in Turin, a game in which we need to get a point or risk exiting the Champions League with egg on our faces, prompting Luiz to further comment,
"Juve are a great team and this is the most important game in the group for us."
"They are just one point behind us and we cannot afford to lose."
The trouble is, the manner in which we`re shipping goals makes it hugely unlikely we`ll scrape a 1-0 victory and it threatens to be another night of chewing our nails.
But in true optimist style, perhaps a bit like his defending, Luiz further adds,
"Things are not as good at the moment because we were top of the league and we can never forget how important the Premier League is."
"In two or three games everything could change and Chelsea could be fighting for first place again."
"But right now we are only thinking about our next game against Juventus."
And that`s how it should be, with u staking one game at a time, shame we didn`t apply that principle on Saturday if you ask me!
