Pep writing on the wall

Pep writing on the wall

It has been a rough 30 days already, but the next 30 days don't look easy either.

There is City (great form), Fulham, West Ham, Sunderland and the Club World Cups which makes it a more hectic schedule. Then there is going to be that nervy night against Nords in 2 weeks. In the midst of that, a repeat of events that eventually get coaches sacked have repeated themselves already.

Some of those are as follows:

1.) Poor form from the starting striker without insufficient depth that eventually leads to losses.

2.) Locker room or training bust ups e.g. under Scolari's, AVB and now RDM's era.

3.) Poor form in the winter.

4.) Meddling from Board members and owners.

We already know what 1-4 above leads to which is the eventual sacking of our coach.

In Pep's new book, Guillem Balague describes Roman's obsession which can be grasped with this quote below:

Balague describes salary proposals 'growing with each attempt: £10 million (Dh46.9m) a year, £13m, even £15m according to certain sources' littering Guardiola's last three seasons at Camp Nou. He tells of an invite after the 2011 sacking of Carlo Ancelotti to be picked up by private helicopter and holiday on one of Abramovich's fleet of yachts. ('Stop telling me these things. I don't want to meet Roman or I might have my head turned by him,' is Guardiola's response.)

I believe the writing is on the wall already for RDM. Let's not kid ourselves and start hoping for him to stay. It is now a matter of when he will be sacked. The players know this already which might be affecting their performance on the pitch. I am sure some fans know this already.

1.) RDM will be paid termination payments.

2.) Player decisions - We know the type of coach Pep is, but how many of our players will fit into Pep's system? Does he want Mazacar? Which striker? Which of our defenders are not threatened? What's the future of John Terry? Does he even like midfielders like Ramires, Lampard or Mikel? Not just our starting XI players, but even our academy players. Josh, Piazon, KDB, Lukaku etc...What's their future? Is Lukaku a Pep type player?

3.) Mid-season hire or summer - Reading approaches of Rafa Benitez has been made yet again for a short term solution until Roman is able to secure Pep, but this could be messy as well. Don't see Rafa doing it unless Rafa will take such to boost his resume for a next job.

No doubt one would see an immediate boost due to making minor corrections that we aren't making and just the mere fact of having a change in the locker room. But how long will that last? Till another slump in November? Rather than building this team properly....Adding appropriate depths in the striking departments, the proper CMs and defenders, we are about to spend fortunes again firing and hiring another coach.

Should we start the countdown to fire Pep already?

I feel that Moses aside, the players we bought in the summer were Pep recommendations. This guy has most likely been consulted behind the scenes because evidently he wants this job, he might not say it openly but I bet deep down he wants it if not for anything the Mourirnho factor

If we fall behind, away from home, and leave the pitch trailing at half time, don`t expect the game to have a happy ending. Last night was the 18th time we`ve behind, away from home, at half time and out of those 18 we`ve only gone on to win on 2 occasions! Read more:

oops meant...
21/11/2012 13:37:00
Pep, Mq, Benitez, Mourinho, me no mind again..

Benitez issues ''Come and get me then sack me'' plea to Roman. hahaha
21/11/2012 13:44:00
It was a deserved sack after the lack of flexibility he brings to the team and over use of some players while leaving out marin and continuous use of moses who is by far useless...on d lighter note he gets paid so!?!
21/11/2012 13:48:00
I don't care who we hire. I really disappointed and ashamed right now to be a CFC supporter. We cannot continue like this!!! However, please don't hire Pep. That guy has never won us in his career. he has no experience to manage CFC. Barca cannot be used as a yardstick. The players there can manage themselves
21/11/2012 13:51:00
I just feel RDM was never wanted from the start despite the success of last season. Who ever becomes our next coach he will have my full support.
21/11/2012 13:52:00
If you not proud of chelsea u beta go support the gooners with their trophyless seasons if dats wat u want...u loads of spoilt fans...for me IN ROMAN I TRUST

Co-sign 100% with^^
21/11/2012 14:07:00
no to rafaa and a big nooooo for him...he is not chelsea caliber....but yes to pep i wanted him long time before.....but highly dissapointed the way chelsea handled rdm situation....the image of the club is getting tarnished by this type of saga day by day.....
21/11/2012 14:08:00
@Teebhat, I have nothing to say to you. It's not just about trophies is it? If it was about trophies, RDM will be there for life same as Ancelotti and Jose. These guys won trophies yet they were sacked. It's about stupid power play and lack of ambition by the chelsea owner and maybe some board members. I love chelsea and i wont stop but i still maintain what i said. i am dissappointed and ashamed of of CFC right now. if you think that's being a spoilt statement, you should go check yourself.
21/11/2012 14:19:00
...lack of ambition by the Chelsea further questions nor comments your honor *smh*
21/11/2012 14:22:00
@Mq, if we had ambition, we will be planning for the long haul. Between RDM, Carlo and Jose, Chelsea won about 10 or maybe more trophies including the UCL. So what else are we looking for? It's stupid power play. There is no continuity. How many coaches has Man U had in 8 years? SAF has single-handedly won about 18 trophies. So do you understand when i say lack of ambition?
21/11/2012 14:32:00
Screw it all, I don't support RdM (Though I love him to bits) Nor do I support Mourinho or Ancelotti or even Roman Abramovich...I support CFC, of all those mentioned who has done more for the club...Roman, yes he can be stupid sometimes, and I know he does feel stupid sometimes, like when he fired Mourhino only to watch him take an unfancied Inter Milan to UCL glory, or when he fired Carlo only to watch his AVB experiment fail dismally. I know he feels stupid sometimes, but his choices are in his mind what is best for CFC...sometimes they are not, most times they are...firing Mourhino and then going out to get Scolari was dumb...buying Schevschenko was dumb...same as Torres...but it all came from a good place of wanting CFC to I will begrudgingly continue to cast my lot with him, but can we show our UCL winner a little respect, the younger ones won't know that he was our player and he lost his career in CFC colours, respect that if you cannot respect the man...Pep will come in and will find that CFC is no Barca...and he will fail. why do I say this...coz I want the fates that seem to hate me so much to wanna make me eat my words and have pep as our manager for a while owing to his winning ways, but logically I don't see that happening, as he's never managed anywhere else...expecting him to succeed at CFC is like expecting Villanova to fail at Barca...
21/11/2012 14:52:00
when pep fails, I hope we get Gianfranco...R A would not dare fire him, cobham will be toppled over...
21/11/2012 14:53:00
Moses is useless? So the goals he scored don't matter?
21/11/2012 15:57:00
how is benitez better than RDM?
21/11/2012 16:09:00
Just Hire Pep and give him the Sack 3/5 months latter
