Something to ponder over!

Something to ponder over!

Regulars to Vital Chelsea will know that I tend to do a statistics piece every now and again, so, on the back of a bad night in Turin, here are a few stats fro you to mull over.

- Unless we can scrape through into the knockout stages, on Match Day 6, we will become the first reigning holders, (in the modern era) to exit at the group stages.

- The 3-0 loss, in Turin, last night, was our 2nd biggest loss in the Champions League, nestling behind that disastrous night in the Nou Camp, back in 2000, when Barcelona thrashed us 5-1.

- Our record, in Italy, borders on the abysmal. In our last 12 visits, we have the unenviable record of 1 win, 5 draws and 6 defeats.

- If we fall behind, away from home, and leave the pitch trailing at half time, don`t expect the game to have a happy ending. Last night was the 18th time we`ve behind, away from home, at half time and out of those 18 we`ve only gone on to win on 2 occasions!

It just, on reflection, wasn`t meant to be was it?

Italy is a bogey trip for us it really is this trip and the previous trip v Napoli add the match against Jose's Inter in 2010.
