In Support of the True Chelsea Fan

I had been a regular visitor to this site and I admire most of the views in the various articles posted by my fellow club-mates.

It's a hard time for our beloved club and everyone associated with it. But, we know deep down we must believe in ourselves and be patient and who knows things might change for the better.

Now coming to the point!

Within all the fuss and media backlash, it reminded me to take this initiative to not forget 'One Man` who I feel, despite profound love for this club, must take the harsh steps and face the criticism everywhere. Yes, I am talking about ROMAN ABRAMOVICH.

I mean we must give credit to him for changing the stature of our club and giving us the moments that no other club supporters can boast of. I remember reading somewhere that the match between Real Madrid and Man Utd in the Champions League quarter final in (I guess) March 2003 made Abramovich fall in love with the sport and probably that was the time he decided to make a team that could potentially entertain the crowd week in week out and conquer all hearts.

So then started this quest to play and win with style. Raneiri delivered it to some extent but not the trophy, so he was the first to go then came 'The Special One' and the rest we all know how Jose put us in elite category within such short time. But I must admit (I don`t know about you guys) during 2007 we all had become well aware that we needed the change in the set up. Don`t get me wrong I have great respect for Jose but that season I knew he had taken us as far as he could and it was not a surprise or shock to part ways in September.

Ever since we had many managers/interim managers at the helm but apart from Carlo none lasted for an entire season. To be fair to Roman he was spot on with his decisions to sack most of them. I thought Scolari was let down by Peter Kenyon with the Robinho failed transfer. Perhaps if we had signed Robinho Scolari's fate could have been different.

We have heard from so many of our players and even the managers who proclaim that how much Roman loves the club and its imperative that with such love comes the harsh consequences and right now we are facing one.

I can understand the support for RDM but personally I felt he was never cut out for such a big post. I agree he won the Champions League but in truth it had more to do with players will and spirit and their trust with Roman that got us the trophy.

We should also remember that until the QPR game Roberto's results were not impressive, we very poor till that time and only after Roman's intervention we changed our style and formation.

I read kaku's article and he was spot on with the positives and negatives of Rafa and I sincerely pray that Rafa has more of a positive effect come the end of season than the negatives.

Finally, I am just trying to say that lets come together and support our club and Roman who like all of us loves this club and sadly unlike all of us faces the criticism.

Its easy to discount rdm's win and call it luck, where wasa the luck with the real managers and elite coaches with a better squad, give us a break and stop patronizing us, it would be better if u say he is inexperienced but to overlook his achievement and call it pure luck is disrespesctful, so he won the FA cup from the 5th round thru luck too?

RDM is the best coach we've had. Luck or no luck he did the unthinkable.

Though i hate the way we 've been hiring and firiing managers but the truth is RDM in my opinion isn't the man for the job. I won't say that our champions league triumph was down to luck but rather players who were willing to play for whosoever they want and anytime they like. RDM actually messed things up from the begining of the season by sticking up to his lampard/mikel combo with which we struggled until Roman showed up before things finally changed in that area, all through RDM's reign this season i think its only against N 'castle that we won with ease while we have struggled against teams we shouldn't.

Credit where it due, and Roman's due a lot of credit. Until today only the loss of Mourhino stuck in my throat. But Rafa Beneathus is a ridiculous choice, unpopular, ill considered and doomed to fail. We want a man not the 1st piece of a Russian doll set. I honestly can't think of a worse choice even if we reconsidered Avram, Big Pillock or that onnce AVB. If Rafa is the answer then Roman has asked the wrong question, he needs to get rid of the yes men and find some advisors worthy of the club.

I've supported every decision roman has ever made for this football club, he is like us a true blue. I'm willing to give this a chance just like every other manager, but that doesn't mean I like it. Roman is roman and that's what makes him rich to the sum of £13bn quid. What I am more worried about, is the constant notion that there must be a 'barca in blue' and that pep must come in. I don't want my team to play like Barcelona, a team that only plays one way, a team that only gets its own way, a team of divers and whiners. I want my team to play in its own way, with its own identity that we can appreciate. Roman you cannot replicate something that is impossible to replicate.

Desmondadonis, I have gr8 respect for roberto no one can change the fact tht he is champions league and fa cup winner but behind these victories also lies the pain and agony suffered by two very good clubs in barca and bayern who any other day wud have beaten us comfortably...perhaps this was well known to roman and the board..rdm is gr8 professional and I am sure he wud be back in the business soon...we all wish him gud luck and now we shud prepare to back our team to beat the city on sunday and hope this victory provides us the gr8 platform fr our season...

Yes, Roman HAS changed the stature of this club. No argument there. But, what is our stature today? We are the laughing stock of football. A comic, never-ending soap opera run by him and his rubber-stamping yes-men! The last few days have been a colossal farce conducted by a billionaire who doesn't give a sh_t for the feelings of Chelsea fans or Chelsea heroes like Robbie, playing with his CFC toy, pushing another virtually dead pet project (Torres), asking him who he would like to come in as manager and bringing in a hated scouser and his managing team. Roman, a True Blue? No! He is a manipulating rich Russian son-of-a-bitch who all along has been intent on somehow creating another ticky-tacky Barca-in-Blue in the EPL! Read my lips...not gonna happen! The fat Spanish waiter will fail, so will Torres and the guy who Abramdumbitch wants to come next summer - Pep...is too smart to tie his future to a guy with no integrity (you can't buy that!) like Abramovich.

@blueblood1905....to quote you..."To be fair to Roman he was spot on with his decisions to sack most of them"......BUT HE ALSO HIRED THEM. You're thinking is wrongheaded....I love what RA has done for us (from a success perspective) but hell...we have had NINE managers, no stability, untold PR gaffs and a couple of spectacularly expensive strikers who are seen as FLOPS. The haters will always hate us (for our owners wealth and our teams success) but we have become despised in the footballing world by UEFA, The FA and now the referees. And now RDM's sacking and the hiring of that buffoon (who slated our club and fans) has put us in a negative light again. RA has been in charge for 9 years now and whilst his generosity and determination to build a club full of talent is appreciated he must learn that we can't dominate for years to come if the foundations aren't sound. He must take his time, identify a manager for the long term and then stand by him through good times and bad.

@blueleader01..."take his time, identify a manager for a long time and then stand by him through good times and bad." You KNOW that is not possible with that guy. He wants what he wants right the feck NOW...and he doesn't give a sh_t who gets in the way or who gets hurt. And he's the worst judge of talent ever...he buys flops, expensive ones! He fires perfectly good managers who just can't give him what he wants...NOW! RIGHT THE FECK NOW!

Roman know what he wants and if he never gave Carlo time, he is looking at things happening on a daily basis than collectively. Am reserved but still left to think, where was RDM to be if he never won any trophy last season?

We all knew that he was not going to get the job full time no matter the achievements but since the prefered candidate was not to come, he was to warm the seat for him.

He was also clever and set his priorities right. Am confidently telling you that if he tried to give a shot at the league, he would not have won the champions league and he would never qualify in it this season

RDM got sacked rightly so, likewise Eva the medic, she wasn't delivering or rather not 'healing'...Sturridge was out for a looong time, come's back ang get's injured after 2 games, like wtf?? Lamps was scheduled for a couple of weeks off, that's increasingly looking like a couple of months (not that I want him back anyways) our injured players are out for way longer than expected, she had to go plain and simple.

squig.who made us the laughing stock at first place.u might rememver mourinho-frisk-rijkaard saga..but our board has always supported our staff and players during such times...as for the media we were always despised ever since roman brought the club...and for torres i dnt know abt u but i am sure most of the fans were extremely excited when the club bought him same with sheva and both of them were top players when we bought them so u cant really blame roman for these purchase and called them as bad decision..perhaps these players were not given confidence and support by the managers to succeed cause u just cannot become a bad player overnight...and as for rafa hate him as much as u want but u cant deny he's a good coach and his tactics have always created a prblem for mourinho and tht speaks a lot abt his talent and skills.

The short termism of our owner has created a different kind of thinking in some of our supporters. Some (like me) are seeing it as a danger for the great name of our club, it's future stability and lasting foundations. The clubs name is already damaged almost beyond redemption. It could take a generation for CFC to be respected in the footballing community again. We have become a footballing pariah. This (as a supporter of nearly 40 years) makes me sad. Other supporters have the view that RA can do what he likes as long as the trophies keep coming along with the big signings...after all, it's HIS club and haters will always hate anyway. But it's our club too...what is a club without it's supporters?
