Now That`s What You Call A Salary!

Now whether we`ll end up signing Falcao or not I have no idea.

But the tabloid press seem adamant that he is our main target this January and that the £46 million buy-out clause in his contract isn`t foreseen as a problem.

But, this morning, they offer another inference suggesting that Roman Abramovich has agreed to pay the striker a massive £10 million a year, or a cool £200,000 a week.

Will that bring the Atletico Madrid player to SW6?

Who Knows!

I hope this deal doesn't happen.....Falcao for 48-million and another 10-million annually? I 'd rather pay 50-million for a young Neymar.

@BlueMel,I severely doubt that Falcao's buyout clause is written in pounds,so with a different euro to pound rate the sum might get even lower than 46 but it could well turn out to be over the 50 milion which we paide for Nando. As of today we have to pay Atletico 48.659 million pounds.

It's getting greedy or current striker playing for his future and then we are chasing a replacement you know who I would have El Tigre.

@blue mel.....50 million for one striker and that much amount of wages.....what about our other players for e.g mata...who is the heart of chelsea getting less amount than him...it wont help chelsea club in future....we are having one useless striker earning free wages for nothing.....we dont want other that type of situation at chelsea again....i would buy damio schrulle or any other striker who would cost less than falco and would have decent wages.....

I agree with shlok27. We could get Bent and he would score over 30 goals in a season with this midfield

Its not my money, I have already made my opinion about this known, if roman haven't learned anyhting after 3 attempts then he'll never learn, I just hope he justifies the price tag! I have a famous feeling about falcao coming to chelsea, but finger crossed

Get him!! He can only make us the dreaded side once again and then we won't be facing mediocre teams with uncertainty of victory. If the money is there get him ,get FALCAO!! We need a tiger upfront ,our lion in Drogba has gone. Replace him with a Tiger ASAP!! But only if, and a big if,the money is there. Get Him!!

Frankly as i have said time and again FFP is a paper tiger..the day Fifa dares sanction any of the big boys like ManU, Real and Barca who all have major debt issues then people can start fearing the bogey man. There are more loopholes in Fifa and UEFAs FFp than there are holes in a rafia basket. The way city got away with the money laundering deal they used for their naming deal of the Etihad (which was essentially the good Shiekhs money delivered through the back door) is a classic example of how unserious UEFA are..the only teams who need fear FFP are the minnows. That said i am against spending like a drunken sailor because a football club that lives by that model is living very dangerously especially when all the under the table revenue is coming from one man. As long as it appears that we are going to be losing heavy earners like Malouda, Benayoun, Ashley Cole and Lamps (both likely in the summer) we truly can afford a big salary superstar like Falcao). In the final analysis i wont lose any sleep one way or the other..i am not paying these bills..Roman can and invariably does whatsoever he wants to do anyway regardless of what we all think and say. I will just adopt a wait and see approach.

You guys need to understand the benefits of a beast leading the line for a team. It sends cold shivers down the spine of opponents. I have my worries about Falcao's deal, but some tells me it will reassert our ambitions.

I am tired of saying things that sounds negative about this deal, falcao can help us be european giants once again, but are we sure? Everything is on probability, we thought aguero will be a waste but he was one of the difference for city last season, I was skceptical about about man utd RVP's deal when they paid that amount for an injury prone van persie, but hell they are reaping the dividends already bcos if u remove rvp's goal from manutd's campaign this season, man utd will be in 17th position, so let's just pray he clicks if we get him, I'll be moved to tears if he flops like el nino

We got el nino at the wrong time,he was on downward slide when we got him, strugglin with form and all sort of injury in 2010,but in el tigre we have a man who is on fire, one of the best strikers(if not the best) in the world at the moment.in laliga el tigre rubs shoulder with messi and ronaldo.only last weekend he became the 2nd player score 5goals in a laliga game(1st was fernando morientes)..FALCAO IS THE MAN OF THE MOMENT...but like i said above,as much as falcao dont join our rivals(aguero, anyone?) i wouldnt lose ma sleep

As long as we can get around FFP (thanks for GabeU's insight), then yes please. There are 3 attackers in world football today who would improve any side they join, 2 of them meet in El Classico & Falcao's the other one. Comments like Bent would get 30 goals or any decent striker would score with our midfield, have some merit but, imagine if we had a striker who can get 70/80 + in a year? Now that is dining at the top table & I want me a seat.

Falcao to Chesea please!!! Even though Torres is improving I think the injuries are his undoing.. I've been watching Torres goals when he first got to Liverpool and he was a totally different player! He had incredible pace to begin with, and that was a huuuge plus that he hasn't got today. And because of that pace he was more effective and more confident. He lost that and he's doing what he can but I think Falcao is a different type of striker and we need a beast like him. Ambitious, humble, hungry, a good guy, works for the team, all virtues that we want in a striker. And he's got amazing quiality. Sign him!!
