'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Mystic Rafa

Out in Japan, as the squad prepare to mount a serious assault on bringing the World Club Cup back to London, our interim manager has shared his thoughts with the media.

Rafa, looking to win this competition for the second time, the first being with Inter Milan, has remarked,

"I agree that neither United nor City look unbeatable or a team that is going to run away with the championship."

"I`ve been asked if it`s a two horse race, but realistically, if you win two or three in arrow you have more confidence."

"If we win against Corinthians, it will be an important boost for everyone. If we play good football and they have more confidence, with the quality we have and the balance we are improving on the field, the team can win games in a row easily."

"I`ve not told the players here, yet, that we can win the league."

"If we win here, it will make a difference."

"I can see in their faces they have belief. If we can win do against Villa what we have done here, at the same level, it will start building that confidence."

Do you agree with Rafa or are we too far off the pace to become the first side since the 1930`s to change a manager in mid-season and still go on to claim that top-flight title?

Why not?history is there to make and break.i just hope he wins just to see how cfc fans will react to it.

It is very possible. If we win and the confidence of the players gets high,i think it will stimulate better performance in subsequent games.

I am being realistic that it can't happen with only the current players, we need to beef up and go on an unbeaten run to achieve something like that, rafa is known to drop points when it really matters, but that's where we'll need the expertise of the veterans before they leave, we first have to look for adequate replacements for the afcon bound players, either within the squad or in the transfer market, we can achieve it, but we have to be very clever and prudent with oyr transfers

Not looking way ahead of myself and I suggest we take every game as they come! Next game corinthians and that should be our focus....Oh yeah tubby!! Shut up and do your job and be outa here by the summer. Seems to be making way too many media appearances.

I am not drinking this kool aid. We will be fighting for third and that wont be easy either. Let us not forget that this is essentially a new team with many youngsters and we will probably get even more additions and possible losses in January. If we win the BPL with all these odds frankly Roman will be absolutely crazy to let Rafa go with that kind of achievement. I dont see it happening..it is one thing to be ever hopeful but i am first a realist.

"seems to be making way too many media appearances".... dont worry nely, lampard will beat him to that..

Why is Rafa even mention title talk? It's December. One game at a time and the rest will sort itself out come May.

@Ken4CFC...careful brother...my eyes are in a perpetual state of being welled up after hearing about the now imminent departure of Lamps...easy on the super frank bashing for now...well forever actually...
Gian-Franco/Luca
Can someone ask this guy to concentrate. He is just talking too much and nothing to show.
