What we are seeing here is what i feared all along; that a side with quality and brawn will give us problems. Also the absence of Mikel is obvious for all those who devalue what he brings to the side. At present Corinthians are bossing the central midfield and have a solid no-nonsense defense. This game will be won by who takes the few chances that they get. This will be a low scoring match.

You can't make a sub when we're under so much pressure. It'll unbalance the team for a brief moment and we could end up conceding. Some serious changes: Cahill for Aspi moving Ivan to CB. Mata for Oscar and Lampard for Mikel.

@Desmond i would not take lamps of for oscar because i think we will suffer more in the midfield especially defensively..i also would not remove Moses because right now he gives us our best option for width.

@Desmond...my friend'll disagree just this once....Lampard was responsible for the loss...although I cant him...its tubby who disrespected our best DM in Mikel...and glory hunted for the ''legend'' Mr.Lampard for whatever reason. Desmond 'll state my reasons out in black and white. 1. Lamard gave a total of three passes long and good passes in 90minutes, lost the ball five times in vital areas, had a near zero contribution defensively because 95% of the time he was ahead of Ramires i guess looking for glory of scoring. 2. Playing a double pivot of Rammy and Lampard with Lampard further ahead most times ( i dont know if that was tubby's instructions or Lamps doing a legend stuff) meant Ramires dint burst forward through out the match...so lampard did nothing defensively and Ramires near nothing on the offensive...I cant blame ramires...he did what was best for the team as he had to watch his back and hence the team's back. 3. when was the last time chelsea Huffed the ball?...honestly i cant remember..i am now used to us us playing with the ball on the ground looking for those passes..How do we keep the ball on the floor? because players in the double pivot always made themselves available for the pass...to start an attack. today was huffing galore because lampard was always further forward..and one of rammy's strengths is not distribution..i am sure you know what i mean, Iam sure you saw on tv how our center backs continously called on the double pivot players to come collect the pass. 4. A double pivot of Mikel-Rammy was perfect for this match with the legend in later in the game to bring a calming influence like he has done in the last two matches...but tubby messed it up. 5. Until we buy a DM with a different characteristic to Mikel, he remains our best DM, and Tuby's reluctance to play him will kill the team especially if he is playing the legend in his place 6. All the passes Lamps gave today, Mikel does just that (anyone who wants to argue with me should please be objective). Defensively, Mikel does 150% more than the legend, so what exactly is the reason for benching the young lad since he is even suspended against leeds...i mean bizarre stuff 7. Lamaprd will not be offered a new contract...he will move on..no disrespect to him in any way, he has given so much to the club over the last decade...but truth is our overall shape is better off without him than when he is on the pitch...he impedes our creative players (especially Mata and Ramires) because he never stays in the pivot where he belongs. Until we sign a DM that is faster than Mikel in terms ot taught...he remains our best DM( with the injury to Romeu who could have really challenged Mikel) and just play the boy and stop disrespecting the poor boy.... 7. What a match to bring on Marin...it was so obvious tubby dint wanta to swallow his pride and do the right thing which was bring on Mikel for Lampard so that Ramires could attack....in the semi-finals when we were 3 goals up tubby, dint bring on marin and today in a very important match...he brought in Marin..who was not match fit...for tuby, old habits never die..... 8. This is what happens when you decide to change a winning team all of a sudden, especially with inexperienced replacements. Impotant competitions and we release all our xperienced players, even sold some....gawd. Blame all our troubles this season on Torres though. A bad strikers has a way of polluting the whole lot. @layorh, I agree with all u stated, but with all ur well mapped out points which shows u understand the game, u forgot one thing and that is rafa starting and changing the winning team, if he had played david luiz and ramires or ramires and mikel in the pivot, (i.e not changing the teams momentum) we'll have played better in this game, I said it in the sunderland game that its a perfect time to introduce marin in our team in the 61st minute and we'll know what he can do by now, everytime he introduced this lad under pressure, so that is were the problem lies, his team selection

The boys looked so shattered. More so than they looked when we lost against alteletico. The blame for this state of affairs rest squarely on Roman. He brought in rafa who has succeded in breaking the team, paticularly our mazacar engine room. Now the team plays more direct football to favour roman's adopted son who is so inept and useless Liverpool should be taken go a court of law for defrauding chelsea.
