The Pain of Defeat Hurts

Some things are just not meant to be, but it still hurts!

The emotions shown by some of the squad as they waited for Corinthians too collect the trophy, showed what it meant to some of them.

Speaking to the reporting team, out in Japan, Frank Lampard, who looked bitterly disappointed at having been on the losing team remarked,

'It was always going to be a tough game. I come away with that bad feeling though that we could have at least drawn the game. We knew what they were going to bring, just disappointed really to come all this way and not win. We have to go and win a run of games in the league now. '

Could that have been one of Frank`s last games in a Chelsea shirt?

We should have continued with Luiz as a holding midfielder paired with 45 mins Lampard and 45 mins Ramires. Oscar should have started. We badly need a second top striker to compete with Torres and to provide an extra finisher. Lampard isn't yet in 90 minute shape.
Sad thing is we may never get to play in this tournament again. We've played in three finals and lost all three. I'd take the league and fa cups and third place right now.
Torres doesn't like competition he shys away from it ala w/ Didier. Cash in on him in January bc another striker coming in is just gonna frazzle him and we'll see his hair dyed again and again and again along with those sad puppy dog eyes. Ugh.
Just give Torres for free to anytime ASAP. He is going to affect our EPL final position & going to take us down the EPL table.
Can it be the coach all the time? I think it's high time those fans who go to the stadium week in week out, should start screaming on the under performing players. Because, it simply can not be the coach all the time. we need players who can stand up for the team when things are not going well. players with huge personality and charisma like ballack, terry, drogba, makalele ( call them egoistic if you like). Not some bunch of over payed young kids. Although david luiz, gary cahill stand out for me but the rest are not just it
I was bitterly disappointed but somehow i found out that i wasn't feeling the hurt/pain that comes with this defeat. We won the champion's league which have us the opportunity to win 2more trophies this season which ve now lost. But then on that night in munich, if we had been offered the choice of either losing the UCL or winning it and losing the super cup and CWC, most of us would happily chosen the latter. That night was special, thats why the fans will keep paying their tribute to robbie.

Look...I feel the pain and am frustrated as well. But to me it is a year in transition...Really the board is at fault as the correct players were not brought in at the right time in order to make it a seamless transition...I don't really have much confidence in the board or whomever selects/purchases the players as there are as many poor purchases for every good purchase..It seams that the player purchases are way to spontaneous and that there is no macro "plan" to the coach turnover just magnifies the problems...
Was it absolutely sure that no airport/field/military airfield was available for the flight back today?
wow Piazon has come out with some strong words against his team mates in an interview saying they didnt want to play and didnt have the heart to play in a final! Oscar was also heard slagging off rafa in the mixed zone after the game. Benitez got everything wrong today, starting line up to making subs way to late in the game! Lampard should never have started this match, thats was the biggest mistake he made. Not starting all the brazilian boys together in what to them is a huge huge hug game was another big fault. Azpi should have started at RB with Iva and Cahill at CB with Luiz,Ramires and Mikel all patrolling the midfield area. And why is it we were playing total rubbish but he never hauled anyone off at half time? or even at 55-60 minutes! he waited until we were losing then he decides to change it! The main thing that we need is some serious steel in the CM area and thats the only thing i will hand rafa as he has said it ever since he came here, that we have not got the strength to fight with teams, like today and mostly in the EPL like against West Ham. i dont know who the best man is to buy but names like Busquets,Tiote,Capoue,M'Villa,DeRossi,Gondangon,Wanyama,Fernandinho or even Fellaini have all been mentioned. all i know is we desperately need to add a top top midfield enforcer to this team. maybe essien can come back but can he still do it at the top level consistently? if the gossips are right then we should be getting a CDM and maybe 1/2 strikers. i'd be very happy to go out and get Falcao and Walcott in january to add to Torres,if as it is looking Studge is leaving. Maybe even try for Suarez if he does have a buy out claus of 40 million! so january maybe santa can leave CFC with some late xmas presents and drop Falcao,Walcott and Capoue down our chimney lol
Two big opportunities missed Super Cup and the CWC looking forward to the PL, FA Cup and Europa League to salvage some consolation.
Torres is the problem...the team is sick of all of the Torres hand holding and Tubby just puts a point on it...also players are tire of the Lampard issues....real problems at Chelsea right now...
@lamarochs i totaly agree with you mate torres missed a sitter a 2-3 decent chances he is a big headache....and yes its lmapards fault again isnt it.? n ppl here are actually supporting rafa he is the reason why we lost today...late subs, playing negetive then he had given up after they had scored..... there is only one off i wont be coming back here anytime soon...
Get rid of torres before he gets rid of CFC
I read we are after Miralem Pjanic, think he's not bad as a deep-lying playmaker.... our major problem is that we dont have top quality forward players, moses and marin are almost a waste for top games, Hazard is not top quality yet, Torres is a waste, only mata has been top quality and we usually look poor when he's not having a good game..
The worst thing is because of the early kick off, it ruined the rest of the day as well as having the rest of the day to chew over it. Absolute torture.
Torres and lampard; the gruesome twosome hellbent on dragging chelsea down to their mediocre levels.......this is sooo painful to watch. God help us chase these people out of cfc.
I really won't blame lamps much for this game, because its unlike the AM game where his position abandoning made us concede atleast 2 goals, but I still maintain he shouldn't have started, mata was the poorest cfc player on the pitch, he doesn't mark or tackle, he is easily dispossessed of the ball and favours his left leg too much!! I am beginning to believe he is not a big game player as he surely disappointed me in all our big games this season except arsenal and tottenham which are not physical sides, I think we should start playing oscar as our no.10 and leave mata to play from the wings then, its the best option for us in my own opinion, his creativity was the sole reason I always angle for him to play as our no.10 but what is creativity when u can't keep the ball in ur legs, his attempts to tackle leaves me angry and at the same time makes me laugh, he tackles like a 10 year old playing with a professional footballer, I say let oscar play as the no.10 till mata beefs up and improve his play, we need one of this 3 players in january fellaini/mvilla/ de rossi, one of them is top prority, if we can get a top quality CF or two along with walcott and sell torres
lmaooooooooo @ leyemovich
blus4eva almost making me roll on the floor with laffter...but i do say a really AMEN to those prayers..and I am sure God is listening....
CHELSEA......The New LIVERPOOL in the making...
