'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another Name Thrown in the Hat

A credible one or not, you decide!

With the speculation increasing, on a daily basis, that Pep Guardiola isn`t too keen on picking up the poisoned chalice that is our managers job, a rumour has emerged that Chelsea are now looking elsewhere.

The rumour insists that Roman Abramovich may well turn to the current Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, with the 42 year-old former Argentine international having impressed with his demeanour and his role in our 4-1 demolition in the European Super Cup.

The big question is though - would he be prepared to pick up the poisoned chalice?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I am beginning to think the world is just Roman's candy shop and he is the only kid in there.

We need a manager who has the balls to show middle finger to the board and also to the player power at chelsea. No running to the media i am a legend and i want to play every game otherwise we will all play poorly.
superman93
i'd already mentioned his name once benitez have been hired as interim manager...

Diego is a smart guy..i dont see him coming to chelsea just for the money and that is really the only thing that would make any self self respecting manager come to us now.

That's one that slipped in under the radar. I'm beginning to think we're clutching at straws. I think we have to be honest with ourselves now, we're not gong to get pep or Jose as both will require roman and board to allow them to have total control. Then you have the next tier of managers who are the talented ones who are making names for themselves like Klopp, Lowe, simeone. Then theirs the ones who are semi retired or about to retire hiddink, Capello. Take Barcelona, you may disagree with this statement but they are a team that anyone can manage, that is what roman wants, I buy the players you just manage them.

We might make a Juan de Ramos of him. Lets just let him be. Chelsea job is a much hotter seat when compared to AM's and needs a coach with pedigree to cope with the immense expectation and pressure involved. If we cant get a better coach, the tough type i mean with sound tactical nous, lets make the 'interim' substantial.

Why get Simeone when he would probably turn out to be just another AVB?? one lub and unproven anywhere else then moves to another club and BANG it all goes pear shaped! Just go and get Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola.

Would Diego step in the Lions den I would think not.

roman is in a mission of fecking good managers careers....he should first feck all his muppets in the board....he has lost it this time....in future no good managers will come to chelsea...
shlok27
We should get samson siasia....damned feck

It is really a poisoned chalice that no manager wants to touch or even come close to. I fear we might end up Managerless come next season. If this is not the lowest point of Chelsea FC, i don't know what it is. Thanks a lot Roman.

Mark hughes is unemployed,we can as well go for him since are after every tom, dick and harry

Hmmmmm!!!! People praised and hyped AVB more than this before he came here...

who in their right mind would want the job, anyone descent that is.A top manager would want his own transfer targets and to be able to pick the side do his own thing etc . Roman has been fantastic but hes got to let someone build a future and that takes patience,if he had been in charge at manu all those years ago he would have sacked red nose but they didnt gave him time to build and now look at them
herefordchelsea
Roman should swallow his pride and go for Jose..... Pep are'nt coming to CFC. He must have realised it now that money is just not all it takes.
avbhimself
with current set of players i wudnt want jose in chelsea, if he comes he wud want different set of players that wud suit his style and his style is not romans style
