If Chelsea do have plans to bolster their attacking options, in the January transfer window, by going after somebody we`ve been linked to before, we could have some serious competition.

Before I have you all scratching your heads wondering what the hell I`m on about, I should state that the player in question is Alexander Pato.

Supposedly a target during Carlo Ancelotti`s reign, the twenty-three year old AC Milan player is now a target of our FIFA Club World Cup conquerors Corinthians.

Apparently, the Brazilian side are preparing a £12.2 million offer to lure the injury prone striker to South America.

Will they be successful?

for 13m YES! i'd rather have him for 13m now and lewandowski in the summer for 15m , than falcao for 50m

The article is about Corinthians not us courting him... Besides, 12.2 million quid for as Berlusconi describes on goal.com: “Pato is a problem,” “We really hope that he can fully recover from all these injuries. It is a problem because he was the one Milan player with the brightest future ahead of him.” Hardly money well spent.

I use to feel excited about the prospect of getting this player at a time, but right now I'll say no thank u, sturridge injury woes coupled with marin's struggles made me have an aversion for injury plagued players, his injuries are just too much! And his goal per game ratio have decreased since they are coming incessantly this days

£13m.....Go get him Roman!!with a better medical care like ourz and when he finally gets over his injury problem he will start banging in goals just like V.persie...waste no time roman £13m is worth pato's risk

Pato would be a good option; top, top finisher, he kinda reminds me of van persie some years back when he had glass bones! anyway my point is a period will come when he wont be as injury prone and will be scoring goals for fun, so for that price we better get him if his available without a second thought.

the more i think about it the better it sounds. if we get him and theo, it will do lot in sorting out our scoring problems cause both players are very accurate compared to the current group who got lots of creativity with no sense of accuracy these 2 guys will set things straight for sheissy

People asking for this guy seem to forget we have a certain Marko Marin who can barely get fit and forget how chronic injuries diminished the career of a mighty Bison..as great as Pato's potential is to spend that much money on a guy who hasnt gone 10 games with out a major stint in the treatment room is a major gamble. We are at the point where we cannot afford another major failure in the signing market..No thank you on pato.

Paying even 5M for Pato will be epic madness, not to talk of 13M.... we're still dealing with marin, sturridge and under-performing Torres, moses, hazard, etc.... I hope this is a joke...

But guys I'm not too sure on the facts but I really do believe we have a great medical staff!!! Like I can name 5 injury prone players that have played for us and we kept them healthy and playing....Pizzaro, Robben, Ballack, Shaun Wright-Phillips and our club legend Flopnando Torres....granted Pizzaro hardly played and Robben did get injured but played more than he did at RM or Buyern!!!! So I don't know maybe our Dr. Can do wonders on Pato and we have a great cheap buy on our hands!!! 13mil is worth the risk...we did buy the leagues 3rd most injury prone player for 50mil(owen hargreaves and michael owen at 1st and 2nd)!!

I am on the fence as far as Pato is concerned...fanstastic talent but then the injuries are a worry...although there was a time I had tot RVP will retire before 30 because he was always getting injured...but look at him now...he has not been injured for 2 seasons now...and is in blistering form for manure...so with Pato at just 23 yrs...nobody call tell since every body agrees he is a special talent...
