The irony of it all!
Here we sit, with yet another interim manager in charge, somebody who I doubt will ever really win the confidence of the Chelsea support and wondering who`ll be the next to pick up the poisoned chalice fearing an early end to their tenure, whilst the previous incumbent of the role, at Stamford Bridge, walks off with a very prestigious award.
Yesterday, at the Credit Suisse Awards in Zurich, a certain Roberto Di Matteo was awarded the honour of Coach of the Year for the manner in which he steered a troubled ship not only to domestic glory in the FA Cup but also steered, against all the odds, to the Holy Grail that had eluded us for so long - the Champions League.
Di Matteo collected the award with a smile on his face, probably, a little relieved that he`s no longer in the mad-house that is Chelsea Football Club.
You couldn`t make it up could you!
