Di Matteo Scoops Coach of the Year

The irony of it all!

Here we sit, with yet another interim manager in charge, somebody who I doubt will ever really win the confidence of the Chelsea support and wondering who`ll be the next to pick up the poisoned chalice fearing an early end to their tenure, whilst the previous incumbent of the role, at Stamford Bridge, walks off with a very prestigious award.

Yesterday, at the Credit Suisse Awards in Zurich, a certain Roberto Di Matteo was awarded the honour of Coach of the Year for the manner in which he steered a troubled ship not only to domestic glory in the FA Cup but also steered, against all the odds, to the Holy Grail that had eluded us for so long - the Champions League.

Di Matteo collected the award with a smile on his face, probably, a little relieved that he`s no longer in the mad-house that is Chelsea Football Club.

You couldn`t make it up could you!

The Story of Chelsea FC in the Roman era is so incredible and full of such bizarre twists and turns that even Hollywood could not come up with some of this stuff..The coach of the year recognized by his peers kicked out of his job before even completing a third of the season..only at Chelsea FC..seriously someone needs to make the Roman era of chelsea into a movie when it is all said and done!! Oh BTW Congrats RDM..long may your star continue to shine and once again thanks for the wonderful memories from Bavaria!!!

Goodluck robbie, I for one believe u didn't win that UCL through luck alone, if it was luck u won't have won the FA cup too as a bonus, u remain in my fondest of memories!!!
Desmondadonis
I bet gis thoughts were "take that Abramovich"

Thinking how much more ironic it will be if we end the season with ZERO trophies...as is still possible. RDM...well done for ever in Chelsea history , much loved and an honour thats well deserved . Hopefully , it might ake Roman think before sacking another manager that does well for the club but going through a purple patch
Blue_Mel
Congrats Robbie...and anyone who thinks RDM wont get a nice job with a decent club next summer must be leaving in dream land...

There's only one Di Matteo 16'...LEGEND.

Despite the Chelsea bias, I think he did deserve this award. If my memory doesn't elude me other candidates were Del Bosque, Guardiola, Mourinho, Ferguson, Mancini, Klopp (and maybe even Wenger). He was undoubtedly the most succesful manager last season and given the cirucmstances in which he achieved that success, it would have been totally unfair for the award to go to anyone else. Well done Robbie, it appears at least some political idiots still appreciate you. Fuly deserved, it can't be said enough times.

well done robbie much deserved!

Guys what if we had like a revolt in attempt to return the Legend back to the Bridge? Not that Mq would join us lol
