Benitez on Last Night (Leeds)

As far as last night, up at Elland Road, was concerned, it was job done for Rafa Benitez.

Benitez who, before kick-off, had made his peace with Neil Warnock after a spat some five or six years ago, by shaking hands, had a few words to say after the 5-1 victory, remarking about last night and his ongoing battle to win over the support,

"Winning games will make it easier getting everybody together."

"I`m very pleased to win, pleased with the way we won and pleased that, coming back from Japan with the jet-lag and without sleeping too much, the players were tired but still fantastic."

"The first half was good but the second half was a transformation."

Indeed it was, that five goal salvo blew away any nagging doubts that we may become the latest victims of a Capital One Cup giant-killing, although you get the impression that, as for winning the support over, there is still a long way to go!

lady torres cant stopping scoring pointless goals....roman pet junk toy...
shlok27
his won games with higher scoreline than rdm.i new rdm was also an interim manager just like the gaffer.
mzee69
The truth is he got us scoring better than we are doing under rdm, but he is not better, he needs to sort the occassional blips and get the fringe players involved too, credit to him as torres have improved under him a bit, luiz is a bit stable, moses is shooting more on target and with what I saw of marin yesterday, I am impressed, but he is not there yet, he can surely do better and hopefully we can get a trophy or two

ou on Drugs? you are comparng Di MAtteo to Rafa ? Di Matteo is the man who masterminded are CL glory Rafa is the man that couldt figure out to either play the same squa you did against Monteray in the final or at least to play scar from the begining the play freshest over from Bazil ad that would know me most about the opposition. I you going totell me player rotation is why he didnt play them really? so why is it Rami was rested Oscar was rest but Lampard who is older and still attempting to play fresh from an injury and looks very labored play the full 90both times? are team is currently suited fora 4 5 1 who 3 of which should def be Oscar Hazard and Mata......even those wh like Luiz at efensive mid then now that Terry is back why not Terry Cahil Ivano/Cesar and Cole with Luiz and Rami in mid so that Rami doesnt send the entire game trying to make up for the lack of paceLampard has? Rafa is he wrong coach and Di Matteo should have been given until the end of the season

I missed the game yesterday because of work and could not DVR as it was not on any of the networks i get. I saw the highlights though. Good win ..good job from all the boys and Rafa..should help get confidence headed in the right direction. We will need it against a dangerous physical Aston Villa side on sunday.

lol @ Macsyn...RDM masterminded CL Victory, the same master mind couldn't win against Ath. Mad, Juventus, Shathkar, Swansea, ManU....the list goes on....With our performances this year under RDM, clearly suggests that the last year's incredible run is mainly due to the players who had something to prove to RA that the disaster about to happen last year is due to AVB and not them.
Blu_run
The one good decision RDM took was to leave out Malouda this season, but now i doubt whether that was his decision or was forced on to him by ME
Blu_run
True that Rafa tries to utilise the entire squad much more. One thing I noted is how he is using Paulo in dead rubber situations and giving rest to Mata...

Benitez opens his mouth and the blue world vomits. Remember who this maggot is and what he stands for. Support the club, support the players but stay vigilant in the fight.

What's next Rafa? The sky is blue, Christmas is in 4 days, Chelsea is spelled C H E L S E A? I think Captain Obvious should watch his back, Rafa is moving up the ranks!
