Still Championing His Cause!

Is it just coincidence that our best two results, of the season, have come with the return to the side of Frank Lampard.

Now injury free, Lampard has provided the leadership skills we were so lacking in those crisis moments and his contribution should be recognised for what it is.

Naturally, after the game, Frank was subjected to some probing questions relating to his future but Frank was giving nothing away, simply remarking,

'I'm not concentrating that far. I'm going to continue game by game and I'm just happy to be fit.'

Today the Stamford Bridge faithful left the board with no doubts as to what they want to happen, they want Frank to stay.

Talk of Frank being allowed to leave is scandalous, he still has a part to play in our future and the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson must be chuckling into their hot chocolate at such a thought.

Finally, it`s not hero worship, just open your eyes members and accept that Frank does still belong at Chelsea and we`d be shooting ourselves in the foot if we were foolish enough to let him go simply because of his age!

Coincidentally, he also provided the leadership (or lack thereof) skills in the Super Cup and Club World Cup as well. Two of the biggest nights this season and we flopped in front of the whole world. So an argument can be made against this just as easily. That aside, I respect and love Frank a lot, you don't think of Chelsea without his name not being brought up. But it's in the board's hands now irrespective of what we think and quite Frankly I'm tired of this ordeal taking as long as it has. The focus should be on the club and our way forward yet it is being hindered by these stale mate talks with our club's legends (i.e. Ash & Frank).

Game was over when Oscar and Ramires came not sure how you can say they changed the game.....sounds like the typical blinkered anti-lampard rubbish. Both scored easily???.....1 of those goals was a friggin' what exactly is your point mzee69. Ever heard of a squad.....we need at least 2 good players for each position. Lampard is needed along side the likes of Oscar and Ramires.....just like Scholes and Giggs are needed at ManUre

Sign Lamps up getting rid of him will really make us look like fools. He should finish his career as a Chelsea player if anyone deserves a stay its Frank.

It isn't coincidental that we're winning games with Lampard in the side, it is incidental. World Club Championship apart, our form had improved dramatically before Frank returned. He's still a good player and should be retained, but maybe Rafa should receive some credit for our upturn in fortunes, and if not then why not? Would it pain you so much to credit the manager or are you as fickle as the other Rafa hating Sun Readers on here?

Ahh yes it is worshiping of the dude...our two best results this season..NORDSJAELLAND we beat 6:1, we have beaten Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle all without him...all good results. Our best results have come with Rafa in charge and a fitter squad. We have also played teams that donot have the talent we do. Villa apparently used all their energy on Liverpool and never recovered from Torres flattening them after 3 minutes. The dude in the # 8 shirts should not get any plaudits for our current form...only Rafa & his team. We could have two more effective options in midfield with his salary...I hope we part company with him very soon.

I dont know whether the board will make the right decision on his (get him signed), but what I do know is the man will always give his all playing for the club he loves. Thank you Frankie for all the happy memories, we will always enjoy watching you, whether it is in your last season or for years to come

As the man becomes the all time top flight scorer (from midfield!) The vast majority of fans that sit there at the bridge, week in week out want Frank to stay and not just out of sentimental adoration. We can see the pivotal role he plays amongst the rest of the squad both on and off the pitch. Frank has made a difference in the games he has played this season and would continue to do so. Every major pundit, newspaper and even other managers cannot fathom why Frank is not being resigned. So mr Foreign Viewer, take that enormous Belgian Chip off your shoulder and try to observe what is abundantly clear to the rest of us, that one of our legends should be resigned, and be allowed a modicum of respect from both the club and distance supporters like yourself.

Lampard can stay with significant pay cut and 1 yr rolling contract. But, even if he choose to leave, we would be much better.

Lampard is a great player,i ve never seen any midfielder with the assisting foot of Frank Lampard, eye for goal and 100 percent both foot accuracy, nobody shoots better than Lampard in our whole current squad, and he has won the all time premier leaque assist in English football!!!!

dGive him one more year, get de bruyne back to rotate in the same role or try Oscar there some more. He definitely has one more year in him. Hell , might cross 200 goals even. Surely will actually, regardless of penalties.

what I find most disturbing about Lampard contrach issue is that the club has not offered him a new deal at all..which in my opinion cant be right..Didi was offered a year extension with lower pay (i believe) which he did not accept and i do feel that is the least lampard deserves from the club. Not offering him any contract at all simly implies ''thanks but your services are no longer required'..and if it ends this way, it will be a real shame and a show zero respect for one of the club's legends. If Lapard id offered a new deal and he refuses, then that will be a different ball game altogther but not offering him a deal at all is wrong...hope things come together soon...

If Lampard would take a player/coach type role where he realizes that he is not first or maybe even second choice (and at a much lower wage) I would support and want him to stay...However, if Lampard wants to be a starter or expects significant playing time I think it is time for him to move on...Chelsea has too many young midfielders that need to develop.

i have to say i lovw lamps but agree with lamarochs. best if he signs on a reduced wage and aees iut his glory days here. i agree no man is bigger than club but we beed him. playing with noone on the pitch older than 25 is bad. we need an older general to bark orders and fire up the kids. remember hes top scorer for a reason. hes good but human. will have an off day but his heart is in the right place. dont hate him just cause your new to chelsea. hes just as much if not more of a fan than you
