Negredo Interest Hots-Up

With it being widely reported that our intention of signing up, quickly and cheaply, Demba Ba failing, the media has us now upping the ante with regards to another target.

Although some news sources believe that Chelsea will get back in touch with Ba`s agents, with a softened approach, after the breakdown in early talks, one news source is adamant that Chelsea will now avert their focus to the Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo citing that Seville are keen to alleviate their cash problems by cashing in on the twenty-seven year-old.

So who would you prefer out of the pair?

Negredo or Ba?

I'll prefer Ba cos of his EPL experiene
Seunayo
*experience
Seunayo
negrado is a proven goal scorer as well. Would fit in nicely
Blue India
tough one...may be 'll slightly prefer BA because of his PL experience..hmm...dont know much about Negredo to be honest but i know he has also scored a lot of goals this season...I think for us, with the attacking mid field players we have now, the most important thing is to get a decent striker who can finish properly..and do it on time..
layorh12
Its probably going to be both. Ba is still a player we will get. He will even want to join us, his agents just need a little time. But i will like us to land a CF before Sunday
SameX
Ba
che-l3k1
Well negredo is a proven goalscorer with his stats and will score for us given the latest sucess of spanish players in the EPL, BA would have been another good buy as he is a very good player that is tailor made for chelsea right now, he is not a poacher as most say, he scores screamers on his day and holds up play very well, so if we can't get BA, negredo is another good, strong player that is good in air and can use both feets
Desmondadonis
Can use both feet* well not all spanish players are currently sucessful in the EPL (tongue in cheek)
Desmondadonis
I prefer Ba but being the greedy chap i am i would actually like us to get both so we finally have three strikers on our books which is what we should have done last summer anyway.
GabeU
sorry to digress a little bit guys...I have been wanting to say it for a while, it keeps skipping me, has any other person in the forum noticed how usefless FT9's left leg is?...he can barely do anything with it...how did we pay that 50M??!!..Still beats me...although at first i was elated when he joined even though i knew carlo dint really want him...how wrong i was...
layorh12
If we must get a striker we better do it fast,it wont be pleasant to see us do what we have always done i.e drag it all through the transfer window till the 11th hour...i would prefer ba
Ken4CFC
Anyone of both will do, I would go with Ba if he can remain fit with no recurring knee injury. I wouldn't advice we go for both, get one of the two now and add Wilfried Bony in summer... I like Bony's style of play, he can play as a 2nd striker if we choose to play 2 strikers...
Latunvic
Chelsea paid 5m to Hazard's agent (the reason we beat ManU and Man City to his signature). They don't want to pay 2m to Ba's agent because they THINK Ba's is not worth it whereas Hazard was. I would love the get Ba though.
B2K420
I'll be greatful if we can wrap up a deal, latest in the first 2 weeks, any of negredo,ba,bony will be just fine, we can go for a super striker in the summer...and we'll need an intelligent coach to assess our loanees before dipping in the market when the summer transfer window opens. We have so many worthy players that are ready if given time, KDB,chalobah and perhaps mceachran, I'll say a pivot of josh and chalobah can be something that can marvel the football world
Desmondadonis
can we get messi on loan as barcelona has already won la liga they are far far ahead...and there is no point in playing la liga for him....let him take epl chalenge and make us win the title....:-)
shlok27
@desmond you really think McEachran will make it chelsea? at present he is looking like a championship level player just playing ok,whereas Chalobah is looking like a premiere league level player at the tender age of just 18! he boy is so far easily the young player of the season in the championship! i have a feeling your more likely to see Loftus-Cheek or Swifty playing alongside Chaloban than McEachran!
Dave-David
Experience? Does MICHU had any BPL experience before he came to swamsea? What about our own MATA, SILVA, CARZOLA etc. I'll prefer NEGREDO to BA or both
prince china
І've watched Negredo on a few occasions and he provides nothing special.Ba, on the other hand,is a player of extraordinate quality and he very much reminds me of Drogba-strong,tall,playing extremely well with his back towards the goal, having good combinativity with his team mates and possessing that spark to score out of the blue. For 10 M after agent fees and 70 k weekly salary,I'd get him asap!
Simeon23
@dave-david, well I think the way watford set up their team is different from middlesborough, there were times when I was hearing glowing reports about him, only to fizzle out in recent weeks, we should wait and see how it goes if he ends his loan spell and come back, hope he won't do a franco di santo, carlton cole or scot parker. I really like the kid
Desmondadonis
5m fee for a contract worth 67m is way less than 2m fee for a contract worth 19m...If my assumption of calculations are right, for hazard paid 7% and for Ba, agents want 10%...way more than standard 5%...
Blu_run
I havent seen much of Negredo..But it seems Rafa rates him highly...We better go with a person who has high technical skills and can easily fit in our system.....Have no preferences between the 2...I will like negredo, assuming he will highly technical (being a spanish)...But Ba is powerful and physical...have EPL experience...So, a difficult choice...finally it will be Rafa's choice...
Blu_run
Getting Both Ba & Negredo wont do any harm for us...unless we are ver serious about getting Falcao in summer...
Blu_run
how about make a cheeky bid for Stephen Al Shaarawy of AC milan and Isco from Malaga, both will suit us better
chelsea44
if chelsea wanna bring a new striker then they have buy it as soon as possible...otherwise there is no point in buying a striker if they wanna wait till end of transfer day....its better go for damio...put some money buy him...good young and talented enough to scores goals for us...and will defnetly bench torres....dont go for striker who wiol be a back up rather go for who will start...and i think damio can defently bench torres...
shlok27
@GabeU Dont think BA is greedy mate. His situation is very very different from 99% of other footballers. Constant rejects from even championship clubs etc not to mention his knee. He is at 20K basic at the toon now. Can you honestly say that he is on 20K + 20K based on appearances if he dont hav any pblm regarding his knee? BA is a 20M/100K striker in current climate if it wasnt for his medical condition. Everybody is talking about his knee and meadical condition yet there is no clear cut mention of his problem in his knee. His knee cant be insured i know that but other than that i cant come across a correct mention about this in press. But on the other hand he is one of the fittest players for newcastle in the last 2 years racking up almost 40+ matches a season. So i dont think he is GREEDY in this matr. If he signs for Chelsea in a 30K + 30K wages and he comes and injured unfortunately not necessarily on his knee but some other injury means? All other players will earn 70K to 100K while he is on championship level striker wages? So i dont want to term him greedy mate but the news about his representatives are asking for 5M is a disgrace. If BA want to play for a big club in a good wages chelsea is the only chance bcz he is already 27 also i dont think anybody in the EPL will pay him more than chelsea is willing to pay except for city. Bcz of chelsea's need for proven striker now and also chelsea are one of the few clubs who goes above the wage when its necessary unlike arsenal or spurs
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Getting both players will be ideal as they come cheap, provide options and alternatives in case any of them flops. We shouldnt settle for just two strikers again, not after we learnt our lesson. Btw,it appears the Walcott ship has sailed.
Ohans
Just heard a news on the local radio that ba's representatives are set to meet liverpool for transfer talks...this whole thing is gettin silly but i would take a backseat, relax and watch how these whole drama unfolds...i just hope we have not been used as an advertisement tool for their client.
Ken4CFC
@Ken even if Ba's agents are meeting with Liverpool or any club for that matter..be rest assured that no other club (except for maybe Mancity or QPR who are looking desperate) will pay those mugs what they want, it does not make any business sense...moreso with Rodgers, next to zero chance of a deal being struck with Liverpool exceot the player's agent softens their stance..if that is to happen, I am sure We will still the first right of refusal as Ba will prefer for chelsea as things stand...he'll prefer to play champion's league next season with a probablity of winning some silverware this season as well..the guy is 27 so he aint got a lot of time left...let's just relax and see what happens...
layorh12
Also it seems like Rodgers wants to send Sahin back to madrid to free up some wage space for Tom ince...i think Sahin is a pretty good player..an option for us might be to take him on loan till the end of season..he is a natural double pivot player and young too.....
layorh12
@layorh12, I watched liverpool's game this season a bit, I don't think sahin is as special as I thought he was, as for ba, one person said he is a 20M/100k wages striker, I won't agree less, his knee history is the only thing stopping top clubs in europe for making him their no.1 transfer target. As for el sharawy, I just watched a few minutes of his football when AC milan were beaten 4-2 by roma and he excelled as a LW like hazard, I don't know if he can be a lone striker. Though he has an impressive league goal to his name, though I don't see AC selling as he is the only spark currently in that team
Desmondadonis
@Desmond..oh..i have not seen much of sahin really except 2-3 games at the beginging of the season when he played for livepool...those few times i saw him i tot he was quite good..but then seeing a player on such few occasions is never enough to develop a wholistic view of the player's abilities...if he aint that good..then he should just jog on...lool
layorh12
@layorh12, I agree with u that seeing someone play a few times can't give a wholistic view about the player atimes, liverpool squad is not as good as it usually was, maybe if he is playing alongside better, his real qualities might blossom, so to dismiss ur opinion about his abilities might be criminal on my part mate
Desmondadonis
Nurin Sahin,Shinjury Kagawa e.t.c- BVB key players that are proving to be average outside BVB. Suggests players sometimes take the glories that's due the gaffer. Underlines my reservations regarding Mario Gotze's potentials
Ohans
Rafa mentioning that Torres will accept bench in some games suggests that a striker is surely en route Fulham road soonest. Everybody seem to be in for Demba Ba...am forcing myself to join that bandwagon, seriously.

Official guys: #NUFC have given Demba Ba permission to speak to Chelsea. As a result he won't be included in tonight's squad. More on http://nufc.co.uk

Good news, hopefully we sing him so that we can play him against Southampton. He will bench Lady Torres.
B2K420
Well if things go smoothly I guess he'll definitely play against arsenal in our next league game or is it stoke city? I hope he is injury free whilst playing for us, any idea on what his jersey number would be ?

Lets watch and see how this one pans out. I'l want him to give Torres something to ponder on and if he can replicate his Newcastle form,we'll be better for it.
Ohans
@Desmond... I think it will be Danny's vacant number "23". Torres/Roman will die of shame if Demba Ba scores 2 hatricks in his first 2 games.
B2K420
Good to hear we have progressed in our race to sign Demba Ba. I will however suggest and hope we also buy another 3rd striker as back up just in case Ba picks up an injury to his knees along the line... I don't even want to think of us ever having to rely on Torres as our only available striker for any reason, never again should that happen, so I'll say we try sign Bony or Schurrle in addition to Demba Ba...
Latunvic
@Latunvic: You are right when Torres plays for Chelsea it is like we are playing with 10 men, notice how sometimes Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Moses will look around to find somebody else to pass to instead of Torres.
B2K420
Wow! Great news,am very to hear the ba deal is back on..lets tie it up as soon as possible
Ken4CFC
Ba is a done deal and just awaiting for another possible coming since it is like we are going for like 3 players this January
