'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cahill Comes Shining Through

Signed, if my ailing memory serves me correctly, around about this time last year, circumstances have now contrived to provide Gary Cahill with a regular place in the starting eleven.

The moving of David Luiz into midfield and the absence of our club captain, John Terry, through injury, has meant that one of the heroes of that famous night in the Allianz Arena is starting to enjoy a run of games he anticipated he would get when he signed from Bolton Wanderers.

Speaking about the decent victory, at Goodison Park, on Boxing Day, Gary had this to say,

"We have good momentum. We have changed the team around slightly, the lads have are playing well, we just need to keep winning games."

"Now we need to keep looking forward and have challenge, first of catching City, then looking further ahead to United."

"Everton was a tough one, they are in form and so it was a big test for us. But we rose to it and came away with a massive three points."

"It wasn`t the prettiest to watch but we showed we are not just all about flair but we can dig in to."

Indeed we can, as the sides Mourinho constructed showed. But, if anyone is expecting the visit of Queens Park Rangers, this Wednesday, to be something of an easy fixture, Gary has a few words of caution, further adding in the media,

"I`m expecting a tough game. There is a different atmosphere in derby matches. A lot of form goes out of the window in them."

"If we are without Petr (Cech) that is a big blow, but Ross Turnbull is a top keeper and did really well against Everton so that is fine."

Be warned, QPR know there time in the top-flight could be coming to an end and they`ll fight like dogs to take something back to Loftus Road, Wednesday may be another Everton - not a pretty game!

Gives a 100 percent game in game out. Has an outstanding future ahead of him. Will be a good captain years to come

He is a good player and is worthy of his price tag, funny how some say he aint chelsea quality, yet he was there to help whenever he can with goals and some phenomenal defensive displays and a few howlers to add spice to the mix chuckles, I think the author is right about how QPR will play at stamford bridge, they'll definitely play like dogs and fight to finish, I predict another narrow win

I never doubted Cahill's ability. He's been one of the best players in our team thus far. I hope he and the whole team continue performing well and give 100% in every game. We need to be on top form against Rangers and we surely could be producing yet another huge performance.

Guess who scored again today? Lukaku.

Cahill was a great buy,the lad reminds me of JT always ready to put his body on the line..as for QPR,i wish them nothing but relegation, hopefully we would beat them silly but i know they would come pack the bus at the bridge and try hit us on the counter.ma only fear is turnbull,i have little or no confidence in him..however a chelsea win would do

Love Gary, he's no nonsense.

Was at a pub having a few pints when his signature was confirmed, and i was skeptical he would be able to step up to the expectations of Fans and the 'Big Club tag'. I remember a mate who was with me at the pub saying 'If JT rates him highly then he sure is quality' .He turned out to be right, he's proved me wrong, and has shown qualities of a top CB,and is gradually showing leadership qualities as well.

for me he is the next cfc captain...has everything in him to become our captain...

Never doubted his abilities cos from the games i watched him play while in Bolton,he was always impressive. And his partnership with Ivanovic has been solid so far. I like his person too, seem quite a great guy to me. Also most part of his game has resemblance with Terry's.But he should try as much as he can to not imitate the criminal side of JT,like the show against Corinthians which attracted a straight red card.

Exactly @ohans,he is learnt so much from Jt includin the criminal side e.g the stupid red card in japan(same with terrys' at camp nou),i hope it stops there and dont go further cos we've had enough scandal
Ken4CFC
I hope the players hold on the momentum and continue winning regardless the opponent.
