Lampard will Leave Chelsea in the Summer

Super Frank Lampard will leave Chelsea at the end of the season his agent has revealed.

The 34-year-old record-breaking midfielder will not be offered a new deal by Chelsea and has recently been linked with a move to Inter and Lazio.

Steve Kutner, Lampard's agent, was quizzed by the Italian media on the possibility of Lampard heading to Italy in the summer, he admitted that he will definitely be leaving Stamford Bridge when his contract expires and agreed that a move to Italy is on the cards.

'At this moment, Lampard is exclusively thinking about the present, in other words Chelsea,' Kutner told Cittaceleste.it. 'As for the future, the only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season. Frank wants to pay for a great side, capable of challenging for important targets and where he could win more trophies.

'We won`t rule anything out. The only thing that counts is that the player is happy and can continue playing at a high level.

'A champion of Lampard`s calibre deserves the biggest stage. Serie A? Why not? Only time will tell if Lazio could be the ideal destination.'

The most important words - 'the only certainty is that he will change team at the end of the season.'

So, if his agent knows a thing or two, looks like it's farewell to an absolute legend.

shame, he still could be a key player for us, he's scoring vital goals for us, hope somehow we extend his contract, absolute legend
chelsea44
Best news for the year, have had enough. Now we should gun for a solid, commanding CM
jayb
Very shameful treatment of a legend.. but then does roman care ? all these plastic fans getting happy at the news ..u cannot have such rigid rules..u ve got to be subjective and flexible...but then there is no permanent manager to take such calls like SAF is in man u.. all the shots are called by roman n his cronies...!!!
slash_blue
good luck lamps.....torres lamps malouda benayoun ferrera hilario....we need to clear out all of those...or else we will dwell in the past only talking about legend history and many more sheet....time to move on..
shlok27
he scores vital goals for us, without him, what would we be in this 10 years time? why do some people can't appreciate legend, this days his playing time is also less, yet he scored almost the same as Torres, look at Manu, why the hell are they keep extending Giggs and even call 40 year old Scholes back, that's how you treat legend, he still can be a key player for us coming off the bench, shame to you people who does not appreciate what Lamps has done
chelsea44
Good News...we shall thank him for all the service he had given us...Now we move ahead and build for future...Let him decide his destiny where he wants to move...Great gesture by chelsea by not selling him, rather allowing him to choose the club of his choice...I hope Cole also follows the suit and leaves in summer...Terry be ready next summer, you have 1 yr in ur contract
Blu_run
The agent has told bbc news that he hasn't granted any intervie that talked about lampard's future and those comments attributed to him were false.....we all know its possible for sites to make up such just like they made up the news that falcao has a deal with madrid.......lampard's agent said nothing!!!
Hazard11
Blu_run,why don't you change ur name to gun-run,because I believe you are an arsenal fan that hasn't won a single trophy even when they boasted the best young talents in the league because of lack of experience...let me ask?how many times have arsenal top the table(or even stay second place) until march and begin to drop?why do you think the likes of ryan giggs plays more matches for united towards the tail end of the season?because that's when character and experience are needed to take u through....if we release those experience lads then we might just be the next arsenal....and it seems that's what blu run wants

Well its a shame that we are pawning up the club legends, we are throwing tradition away all in the name of rebuilding, we all saw what an experienced player can bring in the 45 minutes when terry played pool before he got injured, there was a general consensus that we might have won the game if he stayed on, subsequently we played without character in JT's absence and lamps in november we were all dismayed and keep blaming david luiz, atimes cahill and betrand, it tells u something about their replacements, they are good replacements but they don't have the grits or guts to squeeze a win when it matters, I wish the best player chelsea have in my time as a cfc fan all the best of luck, I can remember being confident we'll win if lamps is on the pitch back in those days scoring screamers every now and then and chipping in assists after assists consistently, he'll always be appreciated at the bridge.

Happy new year errybody :)
@Mq
No1 is bigger than the club, maybe except Roman but no1 else. Go watch the QPR game and tell me how many tackles Lamps made (for a pivot player) then count how many passes he made to goal scoring chances, now compare that with the number of times he was found in QPR's goal line, in front of the goalie...you'll know why we deserve better
@Mq
You lot amaze me, you seem to forget that he was paid very well for the services he rendered and if he truly wishes to continue in a blue shirt as he claims to want to...he should accept the contract given to him as a true blue and put the club first before greed. DON'T BE FOOLED HE WAS PAID MASSIVE WAGES for those years and not free so if he wants to stay as majority of us wants him to...he should stay loyal to the club that made him and not his pocket...but he's human ain't he

@Desmondadonis i dont think you understand what is happening at chelsea mate,If my assumption is correct we will more likely to see JT leave in the next summer after his contract expired. I fully think that RA came to the conclusion that player power at SB is doing more and more damage to the club and its image worldwide than good. So my impression is RA already gave orders regarding this to the board not to make any effort regarding FL AC JT to keep them here. If we access this with out taking any bias we could see the reason of RA behind this. Each and every season its a circus bcz of FL AC JT. Constant negativity towards chelsea from the press. Even more CHELSEA is moving towards playing other way of football that FL JT are not capable of playing. Chelsea is going to give the next manager full option on who is going to retain and who is going to leave even with AC. Even though cole can play well for another 2 seasons atleast yet RA and the board decided to give the manager the chance to decide about it. Finally i dont think RA forgave FL AC JT DD for the debacle of AVB. Even though AVB has lot and lot of his own faults yet he is the only one who is directly appointed by RA. RA personally met and talked and appointed him. Nobody in our board is responsible for AVB hiring. Its only RA. So when he asked these so called legends like JT FL AC DD to back the club to move towards sustainable future and project and transition they deliberately back stabbed RA. AVB is the only manager who was personally sacked by RA. Even jose was dispensed like an employee by kenyon. After the sacking of AVB Roman directly went to the dressing room and told the player they are the ones who should take responsibility for AVB sacking. Russians Never forgive or forget. Its the mentality of them from the young age mate. Its a cultural thing. Its bcz of this i am 100% certain that JOSE wont be heading to chelsea next season. Even though RA and JM in good terms after the sacking yet i still dont think RA will go back to JM. So its either PEP or RAFA or another new guy.

@blueandwhitearmy, I am aware of all that, there is a saying in my local language that to behead a person suffering from a bout of headache aint the cure to stop the discomfort, what I mean is we can't sell off all our legends, the club will be souless, arsenal are an example, all top clubs have their club legends still with them one way or the other, but I guess all other clubs don't have the same problems our legends bring atimes :-(

His agent already rubbished those quotes. Which is bit shame really. I think it was great that finally someone spoke out. This speculation and silence thing is quite annoying. @Teebhat you should know by now he hasn't been offered anything he should have accepted or anything he could have turned down. I am sure he'd take any deal CFC'd offer. There was story this morning saying he offered to take huge pay cut from 150 000 to 50 000 a week but Chelsea said no. I wish Chelsea said something. Them being quiet makes these sories more true. And Chelsea is made looking bad which they are even if only half what is written is true. Show respect to legend.
Finn-fan
@Desmondadonis I am also for all to keep FL AC JT at chelsea but at what cost? This is where it gets tricky. The comparisons with Barca players and giggs and scholes is irrelevant to the case of FL JT etc. Barca is a model club that their players wont attract controversy and damage the club name. At utd giggs PS is playing for around 70K. Will our legends FL and JT will accept that? HELL NO. Bcz unlike utd they know that at CFC we hav a owner who will give you what you want in wages. Bcz CFC gave them more in the past with out worrying about FFP. But now CFC must spend what they earn. WILL you give FL a 2 year 150K salary now when MATA is earning 75K? What about Oscar he is around 60K? So we cant just give 150K bcz they are legends and played well 4 years before. The club must look into their future. Each and every club has made lot and lot of unpleasant decisions before Some are good some are bad but they are doing what they think is the best for the club. Now the club has decided to move from these whole controversy image and move towards sustainable wages. I dont think anything is wrong with it. Do you and others who wants FL to stay honestly thinks that he will accept 75K salary? If you are honest then you all fully know that OUR LEGENDS are so much diff from Barca players and the likes of Giggs and scholes etc
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Well well well..although the agent has come out to deny that he said such a thing, I am sure the news is true, the agent has just come out to play the formal politics period!!...we all saw it coming anyways so i cant say i am suprised..i was ready for the news...and I am with @BlueandWhitearmy as well, I strongly believe these crazy events involving our legends are well connected to the AVB sacking where the owner made a promise and stuck with it...Guys if it is true that there is player power at the club and in the dressing room (which i have reasons to believe exists), i think we are probably better off letting these guys go before they influence our young talented players for the next decade (we've got plenty of them now) with such problematic attitude...@Desmond yes the bad side could be the club being souless, but then unlike Arsenal we have guys that i think could step up and take up leadership in the dressing room Luiz, Cahill, Iva and Cech...without the supposed player power and while still maintaining order...moreover JT will still be around for one more season and by the time Lamps and probably are released, the player power would have been grossly weakened in JT's final season...for me these points to 2 things which are my gut feelings...1. we intend to build system for the future where all stakeholders know their functions and dont step out of boundary...2. maybe Pep or another young exiting coach (Klopp, Simeone e.t.c) is coming in next season afterall , although i must say the scenario is just too similar to what transpired shortly after Pep resumed at Barca...seems to be his footprint...fingers crossed!!!
layorh12
Apparently Lampard will take a £100000.00 pay cut to stay at Chelsea. Meaning he wants the £100000.00. What kind of pay cut is that?
foreign_viewer
Out of all this players, cech will be the last among them to leave, which is not even soon. Missing these guys already, hope it won't back bite cuz all these decision to sign hobbits is kinda worrying,as we can see, we are so lightweight in the final third.
jayb
Jesus!!what's Player power??there are definitely some players that would have more influence than others in the club?who sacked AVB,was it lamps or cole or jt?if roman hadn't loss trust in him,he should have left AVB,if he still wanted him,I am not sayin player power is good neither am I saying it is bad,but it doesn't just make any sense to say they should leave because of that,I wish people could be more sensible that arsenal began to drop when they started to allow Their old guards in in 2004/2005 season to leave....same will happen to us here, chelsea have won more games with frank lampard in the squad compared to frank lampard out of the squad....why don't we sell frank lampard and ashley cole now and see if we would qualify for next seasons champions league, sell them and we start rubbing shoulders with liverpool in few years to come....we still need those boys there even if they aren't playing week in week out....Now tell me apart from lamps and terry, who has the character and leadership skills to take the team along and organise the team????
Hazard11
@Hazard11 Are you joking about the player power at SB? Whole world knows that JT FL AC DD are the players who holdes more power at the club than the manager. It is reported for years. Also havent you read about the sacking of AVB? If you have memory about it. AVB and his project is the brain child of RA. Nobody else. RA is the only one responsible for it. AVB is the only manager RA gave much much time. He was sacked only after the total infighting in the dressing room. Scholari was sacked just with mur murs from these players. AVB is the only manager who was sacked personally by RA. RA WENT straight to the dressing room after sacking of AVB. Doesnt it tell you anything. He told the players clearly that ITS the PLAYERS like FL JT AC DD etc are 100% responsible for the sacking of AVB. FL is not the main man at chelsea midfield. ITS MATA and HaZARD are the main man at midfield now. We will qualify for CL with or with out FL JT this season. So dont talk like they are the only reason that CHELSEA ceast to exit as a club.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@ layroh, you called luiz?luiz that still acts like a kid?what is the difference between luiz and piazon?cahill and ivanovic, have you ever seen them talk to their team mates on the pitch so as to organise them?we have seen lampard and jt do that several times, its like saying sagna, wilshere and chamberlain are leaders in the arsenal squad....the only person with the qualities apart from lamps and jt is cech....I am tired of talking about this, its the clubs decision to make, with the way things are going,we are building to be like our london brothers arsenal....its goodnews isn't it?
Hazard11
@Hazard11, while the importance of having the legends around is well known to every chelsea fan...your post above attributes far too much weight to their presence...i am not for the club releasing them (that is the board's decision) as i think in footballing terms, these guys still have loads of offer the club...but then the club might be thinking way beyond just football...there is the part of balancing the books, as well as global image...i am sure you can still remember the JT sagas and Ashley's pistol incident amidst others...so its not just football, its a lot deeper than that...if in the infinite wisdom of the owner and board, they decide to release these players for whatever reason, chelsea will sign other talents and we will move on...and i am sure we wont do an arsenal....Wenger is always looking for cheap stuff...when we need to, we dish out the cash and buy world class talents...and to make matters better, we have immensely talents on loan all over the place...i watched Kenneth Omeruo recently...he was simply fantastic at 19 definitely one for the future...he has matured way beyond his age...add to our unique talent the fact that we could actually dish out the cash when we need to...we are good to go with or without the legends...enough said!

@layorh12 the message has nothing to do with Chelsea mate. Its JT who broke this news bcz some of the fans asked him about FL situation on the instagram. But the account is genuine JT account. He already made lot of posts from that account.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Rumour on twitter also point to the fact that lamps offered to take a £100,000k pay cut.... Lord sweet jesus, he must be really *****en roman off for him to be asked to leave despite that
Desmondadonis
lol @ FV "Lampard will take a £100000 pay cut" means his weekly wages will be reduced BY (not to) 100 K... he'll be on 50k per week if such a deal were to happen.. that said, @Finn-fan i seriously doubt lamps would actually accept a 50k/week contract when he can easily get triple that amount elsewhere, this might be one of the daily fails pathetic attempts to unsettle the fans by making roman look ruthless..
blus4eva
Hahaha..another ploy by his agent to get his client a new contract..hope the club dont succumb to this sort of cheap pressure tactics..roman and the board should please stick to their guns
Ken4CFC
@Blueandwhite..its actually better everybody is clear really...i hold my peace!!
layorh12
if Lamps was actually 100,000 a week and he refused...then thats fine..i would have tot 100,000 a week is quite decent given his age and the role he must have been expected to play...Lampards can leave with his head high and with our blessings...he gave the club everything...what i have always been against is the club allowing him leave without making a good attempt to keep him...the rumoured offer is quite decent in my opinion and if he leaves now..its good for both parties...he'll always be a top top legend at chelsea...
layorh12
YES!!! I hope it's true.

Space was made for Players Like Lampard, Terry and Cole to shine when Legends Like Dennis Wise/Gustavo Poyet/Roberto Di Matteo, Frank Lebouf/Marcel Desailly and Graham LeSaux/Wayne Bridge were asked to leave. So now its their turn to make space for players like, Jeff Bruma, Kane, Kevin de Bruyne, Josh McEchrane, Lucas Piazon, Nate Chalobah, Islam Feyruz, Ake, Romelu Lukaku, Romeu, and Patrick VanAnholt, Marko Marin and Ryan Bertrand. Let's carry on from there please. The Legends have played their Parts and done us proud, its time for New LEGENDS to finally ARISE.
Tugay08
I read comments on here and I miss the days when we had incisive top heads on here, not a bunch of young lads on smart phones who just spill the first thing that comes to their head. A lot of you speak about 'player power' but in truth the board/owner are responsible for transferring player power to the dressing room. The continuous sacking of managers and the lack of support to managers automatically transfers power to the dressing room. If you feel the booting out of club Legend will ultimately kick out 'player power',then you all must be some clueless bunch(no disrespect intended). Booting out of the top and experienced players is ultimately transferring player power to the next generation,by account Torres was consulted before the appointment of Rafa,is that not handing Torres a certain amount of power? We know how trigger happy Roman is and we know we will continue to have a managerial merry-go-round,we will ultimately continue to have player power as long as the players are backed ahead of the Managers. In my 40 years as a CFC fan i have seen lots of Chelsea Legends play, the list is endless and yes they have come and gone, but we treated them with respect when the time was right. Lampard happens to be one of the players on my List as a Club Legend, for 11 season he has been consistent in scoring pivotal goals and was key to Drogba's success at Chelsea as they stroke a certain understanding. I had a chat with a Leeds fan at the bar over some pints some months back,he was pretty knowledgeable of the game, and knows his footy. He made a statement that stuck in my head "A Footy club is like the human body, different parts of the body play their role to make the body Functional. If you have a bad hand or legs or whatever, ure regarded as 'disabled',and cannot function as an able human will' 'The owner,Board,Fans,Legends, top signings,Youth team,Management,Backroom staffs,e.t.c are all a function of a body and should work together to make the club tick'. The board are making decisions that splits the body and makes us disabled,i use to remember times when fans where united in one voice, now we are split in almost every Club decision. Some want Rafa, some don't. Ill leave you all with a key word,as a player gets older, his on the pitch influence decreases but so those his off the pitch influence increases. The only problem is no one notices the off the pitch influence. Lampard #8 Legend.
nelyvanile
@nely but if the club actually did offer lamps 100,000k a week and he declined, i dont think there is nothing more the club could have done to keep him, except the rumour of the offer is not true...club legends take pay cuts as they grow older...i think its just normal...i dont think i will support the club offering really high wages to older players for non-footballing reasons..and yes your analogy about a club being like a human body is very correct...but i also do think for Lamp to have stayed on, a compromise needed to be reached between the two parties but it appears that could not happen hence this sad ending...its not doom and gloom for me though like i said earlier...we'll move on and hopefully we can have a better foundation for continuity in the future...
layorh12
@layorh12 you got it all wrong:( It was Lampard who told club he is ready to take 100 000 pay cut ( from 150 000 to 50 000) but club said no. There is no way this can be seen in a light where club is the good guy and Lampard bad one. That same story also said Chelsea is likely to block Lampard from getting ahead of Tambling. They think it won't look good if top scorer is forced out. Like they din't already look bad. Board seems to be pretty alone with their idea, only some so called fans agree with them all others: manager(s), players, fans, medis, other clubs think they are idiots :) this will hurt Lampard and fans but it'll be Chelsea who suffers most.
Finn-fan
@Finn-fan Go and read that report properly mate. Just pathetic news paper *****. Nothing else. They dont even bothered to insert these lines "A source close to lampard said" Pathetic journalism nothing else. Why chelsea want to block him to score? Tommorow they will come up with a news that chelsea delibrately broke the leg of lampard so that he couldnt broke all time scoring record. Its rafa who decides which player to play. RAFA is a proud and stubborn manager. Mind it first. He wont accept anybody telling him what to do with the squard.

The player power at our club has been well documented. But if you have World class players at a club, with a winning mentality and you see a different manager breeze in every year. I can understand senior players, trying to hold it all together. Grant, Scholari and AVB certainly couldn`t. Some of our managerial appointments have been embarrassing, not to mention ridiculous signings. The club has been run in an appalling fashion since RA has taken over the club. Trophies yes, but behind the scenes it has almost always been in constant turmoil. FL and DD have done nothing that has brought the club into disrepute, unlike JT and AC. Stability is what our club needs and that can only start at the top. Just throwing money at everything is not going to solve every problem.
Blueheart9
Let us pray, somebody who is on multi billion wealth, save our club from Roman Abramovich

@Finn-fan...its all conflicting reports here and there really..but it seems certain Lampard will be leaving the club for whaever reason...its sad and I do hop the Owner and board are clear about their strategy and objectives are for the future of the club as well as how they intend to go about it...because things are getting a little bit more delicate now!
layorh12
I fully agree as to the root of player power as discussed by nely..and just like Blueheart9 has rightly pointed out, everything still goes down to how the club is being run...i have serious fears and i hope my fears have no basis...but all thess events are just a bit unsettling for me..God have mercy
layorh12
This just makes me sick!!! ***** Roman and his 1 year contract policies. Lampard has been our best player for a decade and our stats with/without him this seasons surely prooves he is still a VITAL player for Chelsea. But NO, Let's get rid of one of the greatest Chelsea Legends ever when he wants to stray and he is clearly still contributing at a top level. What's make me even more sick is to see all the plastic fans that salutes this news. Get ready for many years with avrage results and performances because without Ashely and Lamps that's what we will be. An avrage team. You can't expect a bunch of kids can win the premier League. It takes time. Well done Roman. You built a great club just so you could tear it down!!!

And yea as some of you mention I miss the time when i came here many years ago to discuss football with real Chelseafans like myself. This was a great site and I visited every day. But after all the kids and plastic fans have invaded the site I barely come here. There should be an own page called "VitalKids" where all the plastic fans could hang. If you want Lampard out, surely you know nothing about Chelsea.

I`vs been to many other teams forums and their chelsea is the laughing stock of the football world after how we treat lampard.
Lakupiippu
Rune3k It wasent Roman who build it! It was Mourinho! all the players who carried chelsea since he got sack was bought by Mourinho, 2008-2011. If roman would build the team then we would have had a starting 11 fuild with playres such as torres, Roman would never Buy a player like drogba.

All the coaches, pundits in England couldn't even win a single league ahead of Fergie in 27 years. That's how much they know about football.
foreign_viewer
Jose built the team and Roman and his advisors have been weakening it season by season. John Terry, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard have all got 2 years at the top left in them, maybe not every week, but nevertheless invaluable for their experience. It`s not about age, It`s about capability, the 2 central defenders for QPR this week were both over 35 ! Our small, new, young forwards didn`t have a clue how to break them down. We really have a major problem ahead of us. I like many others, have extreme doubts about Michael Emenalo and the other incompetent individuals that make the footballing decisions at our club. In the past, money could possibly rectify a problem, but in the future FFP with stifle this remidy. It will be imperitive that player recruitment and disposal will be done properly, but unfortunately unless Roman brings in someone who is capable of constructing a squad, as opposed to identifying just another small ball juggler with no strength or team ethic, disaster looms ahead. This time next week, because our owners could not see that entering into a season with just one decent goalie, was an accident waiting to happen, we could be out of the FA cup and hanging on by the skin of our teeth in the Capital One cup. It`s laughable.
Blueheart9
The team got weak because the players got old. Roman didn't do that. It's nature. Also, City and manure strengthened.
foreign_viewer
the GK situation has been the greatest gaffe of all. emenalo in particular must have been very aware for some time of the need for proper back up. and mark my words we are now going to pay for this complacency. i have to look away in horror every time bullturd takes the field for us!
trueblue44
What I don't seem to understand about this Lampard's issue is why the club will be so bent on not renewing his contract even if he's ready to accept a pay-cut.. I read yesterday that Frank has told the club he's willing to take a pay-cut of 100,000 a week which means his pay will only be 50,000 a week, I don't know how true that report is but if it is, why on earth will CFC refuse to agree with that and not extend his contract? Are there other factors surrounding this issue which we don't get to hear about? I'm not a big fan of Lampard, I'm never crazy about any player though, I just love my Chelsea, but com'on... 50,000 a week for lampard and CFC is still not extending his contract? I think that is wrong and silly.....

Reading through the comments here, it makes me sick to think I'm associated with the majority of you. Tubby is manager and now you're applauding the departure of Frank Lampard? Heartless and brainless--is this the new breed of Chelsea supporter?
RadioactiveD
The club is run by short sighted individuals with no football knowledge whatsoever. The best signing they could make this January would be Guus Hiddink to take over as Technical Director, a man with immense football awareness, a connection to our club and could give us the stabilising influence that our club is crying out for.

I don't know it this is true but I think it's good that even if Lampard goes, hopefully parting on good terms with Chelsea. Since there is no lack of suitors for him, Frank can choose expose himself to new cultures and experience playing outside of England, and hopefully grow even more. I hope Lampard comes back to Chelsea in some position after he hangs up his boots. You will always be a legend at Chelsea, All the best Super Frank!

He admitted he is not good enough because he is not good enough..but lampard said he had 2 or more years left in him when he is clearly not good enough #liar
Ken4CFC
Emerson, cannavaro, viera, zambrotta, ibrahimovic all left juve when they were relegated due to the calciopoli scandal but captain del piero stayed on and steer the team back to the top of serie A where it belongs.juve didnt renew his contract and there was no fuss, everyone moved on..same can be said of raul and guti who both spent over 16yrs at madrid but had to go when the club no longer needed their services..a.c milan did same with their veterans and their was no tsunami or earthquake..now its lampard turn to move on and some are makin it seem like the end of the world*so much mayan's in here*
Ken4CFC
Comparing the Juventus and Chelsea situation is another clueless statement from you mate. I really don't understand how you guys just say whatever comes to your heads without detailed analysis of the situation. Ill explain better,Andrea Agnelli brought widespread changes across all levels of the club, youth system, back room staffs, board(Moratta was seeded). Juventus were in transition, they went a whole season making changes and effective ones. Del piero played a huge role for a year+ of transition,Conte a former Juventus player was employed certain signings were made to bolster the squad with youth and experience. The changes and transition paid off. Del Piero was part of the Juventus team that went unbeaten and he capped up his last game with a goal in a 2-0 win can't remember the team they played. He signed off with a great standing ovation from fans and management. The point is,Juventus didn't let Del Piero go,until the ship was steady and the club had successfully transited. The situation at Chelsea is completely different,we are releasing our experience head and Leaders to replace them with younger players with the idea that we are transiting properly. No one is saying Leaders should be at a club forever, but they have to let them go when its right. We have been in transition for 1 season plus now if am correct and we still haven't gotten a hand hold on how to build a team and become a force again. You need Leaders to show the next generation of stars how its done.
nelyvanile
You're a better man than I, nely. I don't have the energy to combat Ken's positively ridiculous "analysis." It won't make any difference anyway.
RadioactiveD
Guys cool down, you've not heard anything from the club yet.
sojofjand
I've said this before and say it again: This will hurt Lampard as he can't retire from his beloved Chelsea but has plenty of options for the future. This will hurt and anger fans but they will get over it. But it is club that will suffer the most, on the pitch and on the training ground Lampard's experience and example will be missed, but its Chelsea's reputation that suffers most... Lampard will always be remembered as one of the best players in the world but Chelsea will always be remembered as a club that basically kicked him out. That may make many young players or experienced managers think "will I want to be part of that?" By showing Lampard respect and gratitude may cost CFC few pounds but it'd be money well spent for the future.
Finn-fan
People talk here like they honestly expect Lampard to play until he's 70. Yes, losing his experience and his leadership may hurt, but the guy is clearly not the player he once was and is coming to the end of his career. He does have to leave at some point you know...
MDChelseaFan
What do have u to say about real madrid and raul-guti or a.c milan and their veterans..del piero played a huge part in their transition because he was their captain and talisman,he was probably their best and most important player, juve could have given him a life contract since he is a legend, they could have given him the honour of retiring there(isnt that what u lots want 4 lampard) they had the chance to do so,dont they?... the truth is we have been in transition for over a year now,the clear out started with anelka, alex, drogba now is lampard and cole's(though i prefer he stays) turn to leave, then Jt would be next..its a circus mate,it would get to all the senior players...we have better players than lamps in chelsea while same cannot be said of del pierro and juve
Ken4CFC
people have to understand Lampard is 34 . Yes is an absolute legend. One of the Representative players of Chelsea FC. Lets celebrate the next six months and send him off happily. we have to think about who we should get to replace him now. McEachran or an established player. Vidal??
Siva
We need experience and leadership? lets call zola, gullit, maka....... Lampard alone is not enough. Ffs we got the best of leadership in terry and cole, and the likes of iva, luiz, mata are being molded into the same. Though it would be a total disaster to let terry and cole go, and while i would have preffered lamps to stay for another year, i aint breaking much sweat over this, fact is he hurts the pivot tremendously, and should only be used sparingly, but with his goals and influence off pitch, it may be a little difficult to use him sparingly. Drop lampard for one game, and the media wolfs are here again causing unrest in the club. We can choose to sentimental, its natural. Soldier goes, soldier comes, but the barrack would remain. Lets stop being over dramatic about this.

Obviously he's not in his prime nor is Giggs, Beckham, JT etc etc but all good players still they are Professionals in their profession in the end and even if Chelsea decide that Frank should find a new club I also strongly think he should be applauded for his work ethic, commitment moments of joy he has given us ! I salute you Mr Frank Lampard ;-) imagine if he stumbled upon this thread he'd feel awful! Shame on the haters who have a very short memory!

Good job Lampard won't see pathetic fans like most of you making these comments, he won't even be aware of them. He knows that the loyal fans that attend the Bridge week in week out love and appreciate him.
CalculatedKalou
@BlueAndWhiteArmy you said it all. These 3 players where the main reason AVB was sacked. constantly leaking the dressing room situation to the press. FL interview after Valencia game said it all. My legend is someone that will always put the team interest first rather than their selfish interest. I am surprised people are comparing Giggs and Scholes situations. You never hear them complaining when not playing. That is a real legend for me.
jollyheart Torres
@Rune3K I am takings exceptions to the plastics fans comment. Every Chelsea fans had their specific moments/ events when they choose to start supporting CFC. doesn't matter if I have being supporting the team for the 50 yrs or new generation fans, we all have something in common that is to see CFC being successful. It's doesn't make too much sense to be having a go at them. Teams are happier to expand their fans base. if some fans now thinks there are 2 tier of CFC fans and reserve my comments. FL situations is not the first and won't be the last. Talk of experience CFC let Desailly go @ 34, Frank Leboeuf a world cup winner was let go @31 for Terry, Wise was also let go @ 35 to make way for FL. These are few. I can go on and on. FL is surely going, I have said time and again CFC has never in recent memory allowed players contracts to run to the last yr before renewing it. That confirm he is not part of Chelsea future. Except something extraordinary happen between now and end of season.
jollyheart Torres
FL still has a lot to offer in that he is a match winner. If CFC do not want to renew his contract, it is for another reason. The only explanation I see that fits is the breaking-of-the-player-power theory. Anyone who has managed a team of any kind at any level will know about identifying disruptive elements and getting rid of them. If this is true it would not have been a decision taken lightly.
londonfc
Wow, there's a cross-section of views on the Lampard situation, and it's very clear who are proper Chelsea fans and who are plastics. It's also clear where people were brought up on their Playstations on how to run a club. Quite sickening really to be associated with such trash in the name of my beloved Chelsea.
BlueABS
I'm confused now, just who do ppl support, Chelsea FC or Lamps??
@Mq
There are idiots and there are plastic fans. These are very different things.
blueogre
If its true that lamps wants to accept a paycut just to play chelsea, then it is a disgrace to the entire administration of cfc if they don't accept it, lamps is 34 while the likes of piero and giggs are older, he has a lot to offer the team both on and off the pitch, the chelsea fans who go to the bridge all match days want him, only the fans who are supporting chelsea from their PCs are the vehement ones, u can't watch a player play for u for 11 seasons scoring 20+ goals in almost all the season and treat him this way, it is true that his impact his minimal in the pivot, but whose fault is it? Did he ask to be played there? He excelled as a CAM in all his record breaking season and he declined the moment his role changed, so why don't we keep this man on "THE CLUB's OWN TERMS" and let the man achieve his dream, all the reasons u lot have been giving for his contract not to be renewed can be addressed in "th club term clause" simple!!
Desmondadonis
Lamps is on 192 goals, he have been named FIFA 3rd best player in the world once, he has racked up numerous assists and is still scoring despite him not playing as a CAM, my take is, let's keep him and let him play his normal position as an impact sub or squad player and if he doesn't accept to be a squad player then we can say he should leave without a guilty conscience in our hearts for the sacrifices he have made for cfc
Desmondadonis
thos who support CFC are considered plastic fan here...and those support Lampad are considered the true real fan...:)
shlok27
I think Roman made the decision ever since. I am surprised some are baffled with the behavior of Roman and his management team. They did the same to Ballack. I actually don't think the management team has anything to do with it, BUT ROMAN HIMSELF. Remember Ballack's words: "The decision was down to Roman." The fact that Terry had to say this on his instagram account: "Devastated is an understatement. We should retire the number 8 shirt in honour of Lamps". Terry went on to use a series of hashtags, describing Lampard as a "friend, hero, legend" more than likely means the rumors are TRUE that Lamps is leaving. The owner doesn't even care about a pay cut if Lampard is willing to take one.
KAKUfrank
@kaku if what you said is true, then whats the purpose of the negotiations that took place over the past few weeks that lampard admitted to? Definitely the negotiation broke down because both parties were not able to reach a suitable compromise, maybe lampard was unwilling to accept the one year rolling contract, who knows.
LeyemovicH
The lampardFC fans are here in full force..next season u lots will move on a free transfer to TerryFC..as 4 me,i support ChelseaFC not any legend
Ken4CFC
Well said Desmond & Kaku !!! And guys like MQ & Shlok just don't 'get it' do they? Roman & his cronies are taking their hatchets to new levels of bafflement if this treatment will extend to Lamps, JT and perhaps AC and following his treatment of Robbie (whether right or wrong), Carlo, Ray and JM (the ones that matter in terms of management) he is treading a very close line to ripping the soul out of the club, substantiated by his recent appointment of a manager who no true Chelsea fan would have allowed within 1 mile of the famous SB gates.
BlueABS
@shlok - if you can't support FL, then you can't support CFC. If you can support Roman's indifference to even allowing FL to stay in a reduced role, then you can't support Chelsea. There are certain players in every club that bleed the club colours and you will generally only get maybe two or three in each generation. True Club legends that should be revered and cherished, not swept out with the garbage. Give them a role, a structured route to retiring gracefully whilst still contributing to the Club. Every other supporter in the land must be laughing their socks off at Romans recent antics.
BlueABS
Well Ken4CFC - you can add your name to the MQ / shook list. Pathetic
BlueABS
We cant keep player who attract media attention and keep presure on the team anytime is on bench, its high time u go super frankie

Roman is doing the right thing for his investment. Lampard will go. A new player will take his place. The football will improve.
foreign_viewer
@BlueABS, Roman has ripped the soul out of the club already. It started with chasing Ray Wilkins and of course hiring Benitez. There is nothing wrong on not renewing Lampard's contract, but there is something absolutely wrong with the approach. It is not done with respect. It is not responsible. It is not professional. Anyone who trusts the judgement of a man who personally signed Shevchenko and bought Torres for 50mm with a salary of 175k a week is a bloody clown. RA is the one I pity because anything chelsea fans have to approve of e.g Will he ever convince CPO holders to sell their shares? At the rate he is going, NEVER.
KAKUfrank
BlueABS,we all would love our legends and favourite players to play till they are bedridden but the truth is its not possible, there comes a time when they have to move on and for lampard that time is near, del piero moved on 4rm juve, raul and guti moved from real madrid, gatuso, seedorf and nesta moved 4rm a.c milan, even Drogba moved on,so why should lampard's turn cause 3rd world war here..i dont have a problem if he stays on but on the club terms which is a massive paycut and a 1yr rollin contract... those fans laughing at roman should continue but roman would laugh last, and u knw what they about who laughs last?? They laugh BEST...
Ken4CFC
Roman and his side kick Emenalo are the two kids playing Football fantasy on their playstation. Their lack of football knowledge is breathtaking. Chelsea have peaked, Ranieri and Jose built the squad that has been successful over the last 9 years, 2 individuals with managerial experience. With who we have now trying to asemble a squad together, welcome to the circus. There ar so many holes in our squad its embarrassing, all that after spending more than any other club in the summer.
Blueheart9
@Desmondadonis what Sacrifices did Lampard make for the club? If anyone is making sacrifices for this club its Roman. Made Lampard one of the best paid players in the league so he wouldnt move to Inter. Provided Lampard with some of the best training facilities available in Europe, some of the best managers in the world have coached Lampard as well as the world class players that have helped Lampard achieve what he has. At which point did Lampard have to make any sacrifices?
Anarchy
Spot-on Kaku!! Some people here think if of us a legend lovers, but that's not the point I try to make but you describe so much better. It's about respect. I will be very sad if FL is not here next year, but let's have a graceful exit, not a complete shun of Roman's shoulder. He is ripping the soul out of Chelsea, piece by piece, man by man from management, coaches to players and even now with hard-core supporters.
BlueABS
He is not gonna be offered a new contract.hw is that disrespectful ?? Oh u want the club to throw him a farewell party right?? Ffs this is business, lamps was paid for every single service he rendered and now chelseafc no longer need those services, meanin no more contract..is it until we let him play til his 40s then u would be satisfied we should him respect?
Ken4CFC
@Anarchy...Playing through the Champions league semi final just days after his mom passed when everyone told him not to. They said he wasn't emotionally ready,Grant spoke to him if he felt mentally right to,he insisted his team mates needed him and he couldn't let them down. He went on to score an important goal from the spot to guarantee us a spot in the final of the UCL. He sacrifices his lungs on the pitch for the badge every time he steps on the green grass with the Chelsea jersey on. There are players who earn more than he does who can be nonchalant at times but not Frank. You can buy a bunch of talented player and put them on bumper pay,but you cannot buy passion.
nelyvanile
This article is very instructive on why Lampard shd go. If we can equally lose Malouda,Essien,Benayoun,Hilario and Ferreira, we will be good in the long run. m.apnews.com/ap/db_15877/contentdetail.htm?full=true&contentguid=3M4qVppC&detailindex=#display

I don't get the idea of being LampardFC or TerryFC rather than Chelsea FC fans, clueless and stupid and beyond ignorant. True fans understand, respect and acknowledge the role Legends play at a club. I still idolize Osgood,Nevin,Kerry Dixon and a whole lots of them, its what fans do. Not questioning your ideology as fans just clarifying your statements. Transition is done slowly and gently, you ease the players out while you steady the ship, not replace them by plucking holes after holes. As long as we keep plucking holes we will have more holes emerge. We Let Ballack go and couldn't steady the ship and his role, let Drogba go and still can't steady the ship and his role (got ba to pluck the hole). We keep going in circles and come back to the same spot.
nelyvanile
Ken4CFC - that's exactly the attitude that rips the soul out of a Club. A football club with Chelsea's history is much more than just a 'business'. If a footballer can contribute something whatever the age, after having contributed so much already, he deserves a little bit more respect from the Board. By some accounts Lamps has offered a way to extend his contract, which most people would find completely acceptable and completely expresses his love for the Club (FFS he can earn almost the same as he does now by going to a whole gamut of other clubs who would receive him with open arms). But no, by the same accounts he has been snubbed by the Board, which completely shows how childish and immature the owner is. And we all know, children can be very cruel.
BlueABS
No net yet, deserves to become our all time top scorer first.
Seabourch
BlueABS,roman is a businessman and he runs chelsea like a business enterprise,he sticks to the guidelines of the business world which includes 'no sentiments in business'...juve,real madrid and a.c milan(do we have a better history than these clubs?) have all released their legends that contributed so much....we have not heard from any of the parties concernin lamps willing to take a paycut, its all rumour created to make the club look terrible(i dare u to give me an authentic link where lamps or his representative said so)...if he can get as much as he earns in other clubs then he should do a didier,we would thank 4 his services and he would leave with our blessings....
Ken4CFC
Ken4CFC - with the greatest respect, that is utter tosh, Roman does not run it like a proper business, not when he makes personal buys such as Sheva and Torres. What are those buys if not sentimental? The muppets below him have to sort out the finances as a result, not because they are astute businessmen. Secondly, and you keep referencing other teams releasing legends, but it's not about the releasing, it's about the way RA & the Board go about it. Lastly as big a legend as Didier was / is, FL is bigger and accordingly he should get the equivalent treatment (Didier was offered 1 year extension supposedly) Bottom line - they are ripping the soul of the club apart. JT & AC next.
BlueABS
BlueABS,yea u are right about the sheva and torres gifts,it skipped ma mind.but even at that our club is stil not run like a proper football club...those muppets(accordin to u) below roman have calculated the cost of keepin lampard and they ve seen that the disadvantage overweighs the benefits....i keep referin to other teams releasin their legends because some forced the legends out while others blatantly refused to extend their contract even when they had the chance to keep them...so if FL is not offered a new contract its not a big deal everyone should move on...the soul(FL,JT and AC) took over from past soul(wise, desailly and lebouf) a new soul would emerge, thats life my friend;its come and go...its a circus
