Rafa`s Thoughts - Swansea (COC)

For once I have a degree of sympathy for Rafa Benitez.

The under-fire Spaniard ran the gauntlet, as far as abuse from supporters was concerned last night, but is quite right when he suggests that on another night we`d have won that game comfortably.

Addressing the press after the 2-0 first leg defeat, Rafa remarked,

"If you just look at the score, that`s fine. But if you analyze the way things went, it`s a different opinion."

"I can only say what I saw and that was a team creating chances from the first minute and who had 23 attempts on goal."

"I was happy with the way the team worked and, if you played this game 10 times, we would win nine of them."

"The team was attacking, we had plenty of possession and we controlled the game against a good team. But the reality is we made two mistakes and paid for them."

We certainly did. But others may point out that we only really looked like scoring when Demba Ba came on, with the Senegalese striker injecting that little something extra that Fernando Torres has failed to show on many an occasion.

Discussing his latest acquisitions contribution, Benitez added,

"Ba was level with the last defender, so it was a goal."

"You can argue about the penalty or not but obviously it is not a yellow card - that is very clear to me."

Once again he`s right, but then again was it a case of too little far too late?

I have no sympathy for Benny. Ba should have been on before the 46th minute. It was obvious Torres was larking around waiting for the end by the 8th minute.

well with 23 attempt and a no striker in our team how does he expect us to score. After the first half break i was expecting to see come in for that guy who call himself a no9 but rafa says no,only for our real no9 to come in with 9 minutes remaining had 2 attempt,a penalty turn down and a goal disallowed.

" if you played this game 10 times, we would win nine of them"...but if you plays torres in it you will loose all the 10....

this man's obesity is both tragic as it is notorious. the tragedy is that the excess lipids infect his mind and cloud his judgement...no matter how many truths come forth from his putrid flesh ridden mouth...the ultimate truth is that he bottled it...rotation smotation...he plain just bottled it...Ba should have come on with at least 40 minutes to go...but noooo tubby wants to play (an oversized) cupid to the sordid love affair between torres and roman...torres is the source of all this...yet that glutton wants to play him in a semi final? he then goes and benches our resident cup super hero in lampard...what is he thinking...i'll tell you what he is thinking...he thinking about his next feast (and therein is the notoriety)

If he had any sense he would have taken Torres off when the second half started and why the feck did he bench Lamps. Ba in 10 minutes did what that shoite flop couldn't trouble the opposition. Roman please for your sake and the club get your head out of Torres backside and realise he will never come good and push him through the exit door he is costing the club money both on and off the pitch.

Rafa u should have simply said "starting with poorres cost us the game"...hell no,u wouldnt(and we all know the reason)

I read Somewhere that Torres is Unhappy and wants to leave Chelsea FC and return to Liverpool, and has also refuse to train anymore, and this has angered the Old guard at Chelsea. If there's any truth in this, O! What joy it would bring to us.

Torres single handedly ruined chelsea, he is the reason we are were we are this season with his lacklustre performance when it matters, I am ashamed a player playing like him is mentioned as a chelsea player, about tubby's thoughts, he said we made two mistakes, well the first mistake is starting torres and the second mistake is not subbing him off after the first half..
