Match Day Moments - Stoke (a)

Match Day Moments - Stoke (a)

A difficult trip to the Britannia Stadium, to face Stoke City, beckons this afternoon.

It is, as they say, a must win game if Chelsea are to continue to harbour ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Recently, Sir Alex Ferguson labelled Stoke as 'The Jolly Green Giants` such is their fondness for aerial combat. Now whether our team, comprised mostly of diddy-men can match them or as Rafa Benitez implies; dash between their legs remains to be seen.

Nevertheless, it promises to be an intriguing afternoon and you are all cordially invited to join us in our Match Day Moments thread whereby we`ll be on hand to discuss the starting eleven chosen by Rafa, the tactics employed and the action as it unfurls in the Potteries.

It should be quite an afternoon!

I don't care who ever start, The most important thing is the three point cos we can't afford to lose this match KTBFFH 4 ever

@Larger-chelsea...please dont say you dont care who starts because torres should clearly not start..except you are not as desperate for the 3 points as your post suggests....I am damn desperate and keeping faith that Torres will be on the bench....

I don't think Torres will start tonight as he is down with bug as mentioned... As for Terry, I wouldn't want to risk him with a physical team like Stoke....

boy the starting line up today will speak volumes as to how our club is run and who the true power brokers are..people have been bitching and moaning about lamps and player power..well guess what if Torres starts today we will officially have our new version of player power in full effect.

@layorh12 I need the three point badly as those manchester club are playing tomorrow so that to close them, which i know very well that both of them will drop point but as for nando and Ba, let Ba play ahead of nando as we can't keep on waiting and believe he will be inform soonest

@ GabeU.. don't worry... the player power is officialy ending this summer.. let the players (whoever holds the power) do whatever they want to.. (eg.. bitching in media, contacting owner etc..) they will be thrown out come summer..

Dr Watsons... I hope your spot on... Terry shoudl be available on the bench though. To me , Torres is gone come summer probably in exchange for Falcao (IMHO)

I am not worried about this game, despite the fact that tony pulis has a professorial degree in defending and parking the bus, what I am really worried about is the breaking of bones and marrow, flying tackles ju jitsu and shaoling martial arts we'll witness today, I hope ba,mata hazard or any of our players get an out of the season injury!! I'll begin to be worried when we play soton, arsenal and swansea, that is when we put our leg off the gas

Cahill will not be starting as he has family issues to attend to. His wife just gave birth. So its probably going to be Luiz and iva at CB,Rami and Lamp in CM.
