That Lad Modric

That Lad Modric

I bet when Luka Modric signed for Real Madrid you seriously doubted whether you`d ever see his name and that of Chelsea in the same sentence, well you were wrong.

It transpires that all is not well with Modric, over in La Liga (as we`ve reported before) and that the Croatian might just welcome a return to the Premier League.

To that effect, it`s being reported that Chelsea are set to dangle a £22 million carrot in front of Real Madrid, this summer, to see if they can be tempted to part with the playmaker.

Now considering Chelsea, reportedly, offered Spurs £40 million for his services not that long ago, £22 million seems quite a bargain.

Your thoughts on the subject would be most welcome.

People keep forgetting that Modric didn't do any preseason training either with Spurs or Real Madrid, so expecting him to be on the same level without the training and in the new league is a bit over the top. Even so, he still plays pretty well there and his adjustment is going rather smoothly - if you watched him play for Real you will understand.

only i want modric if we can get torres and modric swap...it would be good for both of us....i mean very very very good for us...real wil get a strong free scoring top class striker which will take them down further..and we get free from the curse....let real face some bug...

I would love Chelsea to sign him or Benat during January transfer window as we are dire needs of a deep-lying playmaker... I hope it is not too much if I could dream to see Willian coming as well (also in January)

@Shlok i am still chucklin after reading your post...i wish it could happen but Jose is no mug..there is no way he is going to buy our lemon from us. He lived through the sheva mess..he wont fall for it unfortunately.

If we go steal him for 20m I'll take him with eyes closed, he is not injury prone, he is a player that is unplayable when on form and he'll jump at the second chance to join chelsea, he is a BPL proven player

I'd have him any time. He's the kind of player we need now and will solve our problems for a long time. Fellaini is another interesting option although i'd like to have them both and dump the slow Mikel.

If Madrid are willing to part with him then we should do all we can to get him. I would love to see the reaction of the Spurs chairman to him coming as he was the one who made it IMPOSSIBLE. He would work wonders for our midfield. Imagine him and John Obi....man o man that would be great.

He will come as a steal at that price,as i believe he will offer us alot. He went to the wrong club and he should know that by now.

Why not try get Benat instead who has value for money imho.. That ass dumped us for Real Madrid. Can't believe folks here calling for his signature. Although, i won't be against it if the board signs him.

I would welcome modric wholeheartedly. benat maybe can be a good option but he will only join the league of our new recruits who are adjusting to the BPL. hence its best if we get modric who knows the in and out and has already been proven in bpl

Madrid is wasting his talent like they did Kaka, and it's no surprise it's Mourinho in charge, he simply doesn't know how to handle technical players, he wants brawn and functional more than anything.

I'd still take Modric for 22Mil though, given the " talent" we have at CM (Lamps, Mikel, Ramires) I'd play him with Ramires and we'll undoubtedly be better than Ramires with Lamps or Mikel

it crossed my mind when luca moved to madrid that this just might be a way to get around levy not selling to us. just might happen and at 22million wouldn't break the bank. fingers crossed!
