'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Why Chelsea & Mourhino are ........ Part 2?

In my first article I saber made a strong case for Jose Mourinho and why he is the best manager there is for Chelsea.

Hours after my article, and less than 48 hrs after my prophetic article on Mou's return Jose Mourinho the man himself has sent out his strongest hint yet of his desire to return to England. Its almost as if we are picking up on each others signals. Joking aside! In my first part, the comments sparked a rage of debates. I as the author of the piece feel the need to explain my views to the misinformed and those who spread falsehood.

GabeU my good friend says 'trust but verify' so I`ve done a detailed analysis in the last 24 hours to come up with factual answers. I now list my sources...

1. Transfermarket.co.uk (for transfers)
2. Jose Mourinho fact files
3. Three documentaries (available on You Tube) by respectable sources like the BBC and sky....(doc length in brackets so you don`t confuse it with other stuff)

a) Footballs best managers - Jose Mourinho (26:19)
b) Jose Mourinho documentary full NEW 2012 (46:45)
c) Jose Mourinho - a translators dream (34:59) (not available on mobiles)

4. Countless interviews from Mourinho, his detractors, supporters, biographers...

After a thorough research I will now attempt to debunk every lie that has been made of a man whose image has been twisted beyond truth that even his own hate him. I will attempt to handle the readers of my previous articles on an individual/group basis. I hope merlin bears with the length of the article as it will be biased for me not to state the accusation / misconception before replying.

I wish to explain to the readers excepting one or two that this is not a criticism of you but an attempt to clarify myself as I feel you`ve a right to the best of all that is saber -

1. I agree with most of your points Saber. I sincerely hope that Roman Abramovich will swallow his pride on this one - if he does I think the Chelsea fans will love him forever....at least i will :)) Having said that, I struggle to see how the Emenalo / Mourinho combo can work (this is the only one of your points I don`t quite agree to) - JohnnyOz

SABER - Johnny, I`m glad you agree with me on most points, I for one like most did have a bad picture about Emenalo post Ray Wilkins sacking. But he has won me over with some incredible displays of shrewdness. Torres was an Abramovich purchase. Apart from that he has successfully ensured certain brilliant signings. Luiz (23mil) Ramires (18mil). Then he got Lukaku and De Bruyne who I`m sure will be real value for money in 2 yearrs. Piazon is another. Meireles, Mata and Romeu were AVB buys. Emenalo was instrumental in the Cahill deal when we had competition. His best signing was Oscar who is a real steal. None in the media or fan sites linked / wanted him strongly. Hazard chose Chelsea over City and United (who offered the same wages as we did), surely the Technical Director had a role to play. Moses was a steal for £10 million whom the likes of @mq were screaming for £40 million Hulk. Hulk went to Zenit and we know how lucky Zenit feel to have him. The Marin deal was a great plan B if we failed to win the Champions League. Azpilicueta was a great buy for that price and age. Also Chelsea are now showing a will to bargain and not loose an arm or a leg for players as once was. For £78 million we got 5 potentially world class players. Mourinho in the new age of FFP cannot afford every player he wants and hence needs a person like Michael to give him great options. Mourinho has no choice as overspending would mean no Champions League and to a coach of his standing that`s not a choice.

Emenalo is not a threat to Mourinho as he is not a potential replacement as Avram Grant was. Nor is he strong headed. Emenalo is not big enough 'a personality' for Mourinho to feel uncomfortable about.

2. Lol what heaven would that be? Talk about delusion

@Mq - The same Mourinho who would risk losing just to get sacked thus avoiding compensation? Would you ever understand benching Cech for Turnbull?

@Mq - Why am I even wasting my time...*smh....how crazy of me to even read and respond to an article by a person with a reputation for........*smh

@Mq - Why anyone would root for a Manager who'd rather lose deliberately to be sacked than resign beats me...*smh

@Mq - Then again, perhaps the author and his ' backers' are naive. Mourinho and Madrid have a contract that whoever terminates has to pay the other €20 million, so with Jose wanting to leave he knows he can't get a club to pay off that €20 million so he's agitating to be sacked so he doesn't pay anything, hence him dropping Iker and publicly criticizing the squad at times

@Mq - If AVB had dropped Cech for Turnbull early last season when Cech was making howler after howler I swear VC would have shut down due to insults yet here are pretty much the same ' experts' condoning Mourinho drop Iker for Adan because he's their favourite...*smh*

SABER -.My reputation on this site against your son, we all know who`ll lose, by a landslide. @mq's obsession with me is similar to Barca's obsession and hatred for the blues.

I'll now proceed to expose his sheer incompetence and complete lack of intellect by rubbishing his two claims. Firstly Jose Mourinho did not bench Casillas for footballing reasons. It is because of player power and dressing room power struggles. Jose Mourinho, as is widely known, is facing a power struggle with Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos at Madrid this season leading to a pro-Casillas and pro-Mourinho factions in the team. Now before you say more crap about how it`s Mourinho`s fault, I clearly remember how you bitched about Lampard for being the reason for AVB's sacking.

So it's not alright if AVB faces player power but its okay if Mourinho does. While I`m clear that player power is a bad thing and the manager has to be the boss at any club, I unlike you tend to apply my principles uniformly. Secondly to even suggest that any manager would lose on purpose is disgusting. Mourinho unlike you is a professional, not a two penny attention seeking individual.

3. Don't want Moanrinho back - By the time he left the football was dire, with the full backs never crossing the halfway line. The success he had was gained with an unbelievable squad. Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Lampard, Ballack, Essien, Robben, Duff and Drogba all in their prime. He kept bringing the club into disrepute and had to go. - THEBREEZE

SABER - I hear you mate. But he was equally or dare I say more successful with lesser sides both in monetary and skill terms like Porto and Inter. (note - spending far lesser money as less as a fraction as will be proved to you in subsequent answers). One could also argue that Pep did whatever he did because of an even more unbelievable squad (Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and co).

4. To all the comments that point out that Mourinho is so good only because he spent so much money -

SABER - I`ve done 5 hrs of painstaking research and to my own surprise my own notion that Mourinho spends too much to succeed is untrue. Here is the proof

I have developed a system to measure success in terms of trophies versus money spent. trophies in order of difficulty level to win have been assigned trophy points as follows

TROPHY POINTS

Champions League = 10pts
Europa League = 6pts
League Title = 7pts
Domestic Cup = 5pts
League Cup = 4pts
Community Shield = 2pts

Success ratio = trophy points divided by money spent in millions

Using this index we can see some interesting findings-

Porto Under Jose

Club - Porto 01/02
Manager - Jose (appointed in Jan 2002)
Transfer revenue: 0 - Transfer expenditures: 0 £ = 0£ (winter transfers; the ones Jose was in charge of)

Club - Porto 02/03
Manager - Jose
Transfer revenue: 15.664.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 10.032.000 £ = +5.632.000 £

Trophies:-

• Primeira Liga
• Taça de Portugal (Domestic Cup)
• Europa League

Club - Porto 03/04
Manager - Jose
Transfer revenue: 8.800.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 9.240.000 £ = -440.000 £

Trophies:

• Primeira Liga
• Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira(community shield)
• UEFA Champions League

Net Expenditure = +5.192million (profit)
Trophies = 6
Trophy points = 7+5+6+7+2+10=37
Success ratio - 37 free trophy points at a profit

So Jose Mourinho made a profit of 5 million and won 6 trophies including the Champions League, the Europa League and 2 League Titles

(We are only going to take into account first two seasons as 12/13 is going on and Real can still win trophies this year)

Net expenses = 109million
Trophies = 3
Trophy points = 5+7=12
Success ratio= 9.083 million for every trophy point(that number will change monumentally if Real win even a single trophy this year as they have spent no money this season. For example if they win Copa del Ray or Champions League or both the number could fall to 6.3 or 4.9 or 3.96 respectively)

Chelsea Under Jose

Season - 04/05

Trophies:-

• FA Cup
• League Cup

Net expenses (excluding Shevchenko) = 188.87mil

Trophies = 3
Trophy Points = 10+5+2=17
Success ratio = 4.016 million for every trophy point (but has a trophyless year; Jose did not, therefore is the more consistent of the two)

5. The media wants you to believe Barcelona don`t spend at all and everything is homegrown and we are the bad guys

Barcelona`s expenses in last 5 years

11-12- Transfer revenue: 41.316.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 52.800.000 £ = -11.484.000 10-11- Transfer revenue: 46.376.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 63.800.000 £ = -17.424.000 £

07-08- Transfer revenue: 12.320.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 60.280.000 £ = -47.960.000 £

Net expenses = 190.48mil

Chelsea`s expenses during last 5 seasons -

11-12 Transfer revenue: 27.139.200 £ - Transfer expenditures: 91.388.000 £ = -64.248.800 £
10- 11Transfer revenue: 14.520.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 111.320.000 £ = -96.800.000 £
09-10 Transfer revenue: 3.445.200 £ - Transfer expenditures: 26.400.000 £ = -22.954.800 £
08-09 Transfer revenue: 38.764.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 26.840.000 £ = +11.924.000 £
07-08 Transfer revenue: 39.292.000 £ - Transfer expenditures: 53.592.000 £ = -14.300.000 £
net expense= 186.37

Barcelona have spent more than the 'buying trophies' Chelsea have in the last 5 years. Pep was Barca manager for 4 of them.

United have spent 150 million (minus the stupid money Real Madrid gave for Ronaldo)

City have spent 560 million

Madrid have spent 330 million in the same period.

6. Saber, I know you can be persuasive just as you've demonstrated in this article. But it`s still a no-no for me. You make it sound easy, truth is, its not! You can`t guarantee he'll stay here long term and forget that your 'he's getting old' argument, because you alone said that and as good as you are, you re not yet an authority. Also he thrives on controversy; we have enough of that already. He lacks the ability to effect continuity, he left us with dry bones, just like he did Inter. I know he is good at instilling a winning mentality into the players, but that fizzles out as fast as it gets in. And why so much assumption (borne out of delusion) in the article, like FFP has reduced half of his downsides already, how about we say he'll need a splash the cash to start his project? And you mentioned Callejon, just Callejon? By the way do you know how old he is? You should know he likes players mature, and he seldom shows patience for the up-comings. Maybe it is because of the pressures for results and the high expectations...which obviously have not abated at the bridge. - Ohans

SABER - This summer Mourinho`s daughter joins college in London. In anticipation he has purchased a house. End of the day he is a family man and will do his best to stay close to his daughter. Arsenal and Spuds are never really options for him. Ideally a return to Chelsea is what suits the family man in Mourinho. Secondly he has nowhere left to go after a return to England. PSG? No its not glamorous enough as not many people care about Lique Un, even if the money is good its a step down for him. He can`t manage AC Milan, Roma, Juve after he critcized them while at Inter. Barca are now his sworn rivals. So who? Portugese national team? Yes only when he is 65-70 and has beaten Fergies record nice and proper. He has only 3 options - us, United, City. His next job by all logic has to be longer than this. At the end of this season things have gone so sour in Madrid that he will leave them by 'mutual consent' and neither party will pay the other the stipulated 20million as suggested. On my point that the FFP will not allow him to overspend, it`s true. Neither the club nor Jose Mourinho can afford not playing in the biggest stage viz. the Champions league. I mentioned Varane and Balo apart from Callejon my friend.

7. Don`t want him back - Look at the mess he is creating at Madrid right now....where is Madrid going down at the bottom and its because of his big egoistic issue which is creating the problem. He is a good coach no doubt about it but seriously don`t want him here. Big ego always favours his favourite players.and say bye-bye to youth system. if he becomes coach, players like KDB, Piazon, Lukaku and Josh wont get chance at all in future, big nooooo for him, he will take no time to reach from heaven to hell. Madrid were in heaven last season and this season they are in hell, don`t want that happening at Chelsea - shlok27 (and all other comments citing his current bad spell at madrid as reason not to sign him

SABER - Dear Shlok, and everyone who shares his opinion on the Madrid issue. Let`s put things to perspective. Jose Mourinho's struggle this season is not due to failure on footballing terms. It is due to player power and Forentiono Perez's inability to reign in players. His decision to bench players is not due to their underperforming but more due to a power struggle. Casillas and Ramos are undermining his authority and the camp is split into a pro Mourinho and anti Mourinho faction. The whole of VC cried foul when AVB became a victim of player power last season. Compounding to this situation is the Madrista support who turn their backs on the man who delivered them the league siding with their club legends a.k.a Casillas and Ramos unwittingly giving their rivals Barca a clear advantage. For any team to succeed there has to be only one boss, but that`s not so in the dressing room. As regards to player favouritism, Mourinho rewards players who work hard and perform if they don`t they are benched. There are other comments saying he only plays star names. Sheva was a star but was benched. Lampard and Terry were not stars when he joined the club, neither was Cech. They had to work their socks off before becoming starters, then stars and later club legends. You cant fault any of our legends (Drogs, Lamps, Terry, Cech) for lack of effort. Only age and influence in the dressing room. Robben may havve dazzled but he didn`t do wt the gaffer asked, hence was shipped out. (the same way as SAF shipped out their biggest star at that time in David Beckham, if that is glorified, then why not this? Oh right, we don`t have half the media licking our backsides). Please do read on The Catalunya Freedom Movement. The Madrid / Barca rivalry involves the Spanish and Catalan press and every dirty accusation as its more then just football. It`s a symbol of political struggle.

8. Fell out with Roman, set up Inter for a fall, currently ruining Madrid - foreign_viewer

Mourinho didn't prepare Inter for the future. All he wanted were trophies for his CV. He signed players for the short term. He said it himself that he likes signing older players even though the transfer fee cannot be re-couped - foreign_viewer

Set up Inter for a fall? Oh, you mean after he won the Champion's League? Good god, from what hole do you people crawl out of? - RadioactiveD

SABER - ref answer 8. Are you having a laugh mate? Radio is spot on here as usual. He did not set inter up for a fall. By winning 5 trophies with 30 million it`s called setting a club up for a fall? if so Di Matteo set us up for a fall eh? The subsequent managers and poor player purchases did. If Inter did not plan for life after Mourinho you can`t blame the man for it. Its like saying it was Bob Paisley or Kenny Dalglish's (last pool manager to win the league) fault that Liverpool went into 2 decades of decline.

9.Saber I feel like this time you didn't do homework correct. When Mourinho left, there was not enough money for Rafa to do what he needed as the winning of Champs League covered the debts he created when he first got at Inter, he isn't a youth favourite, playing youth and building youth are totally different stories, as for who is a better manager, its clear Pep is, mind you Mourinho has a better CV...Di Matteo has a better CV than Matthias Sammer, but Sammer is way better...in terms of style, why can't we play good and win?

Don't we just need time? It hurts to see United or City do it. Authority wouldn't be an issue here because he is a club icon, but if he starts to lose his way with Chelsea players then that will spell the end for him. In conclusion I'd love to have him back at the club but not as a manager, maybe Emenalo's position but not Manager...I would really like Pep - Number#25

SABER - again, he spent 30 odd million in net expenses while at inter. Thats a HUGE DEBT to cover even after winning the cash cow that is Champions League no? I don`t blame you dear friend. I thought so too till I did the homework.

10. @ saber I am not buying it this time mate. JOSE will never ever, ever return to Chelsea. It`s as good as anything. Jose was not sacked for footballing reasons. Jose was not sacked for personal reasons. JOSE was SACKED because he was acting as he is bigger than the whole CFC. RA sacked JOSE in a single second because of this sole reason alone. After the brutal sacking of Jose, in the match against Valencia in the CL below are the rough quotes of RA (he invited some Chelsea fans to his hotel to talk about the sacking)

'I will always remember what Jose has done for this club. He will retain a special place in every one in Chelsea. But Jose has to go.

RA is not even thought twice about paying his FULL compensation more than 13M - Blue and white army

SABER - Jose wasn`t sacked for acting bigger than the club. He was sacked because of 2 principal reasons

a) A refusal to play Shevchenko as Roman wanted.
b) His issues with Avram being technical director. Anything else is what is pedaled by the media up to this date when the real facts have been lost in between.

11. And why do the author and some of you guys make it look like it`s either win playing ugly or lose doing the tiki taka? Why can't we play attracting footie and win? God knows we have the personnel to do so! - zosBlue

SABER - I`m sorry if that`s the impression I created in the first article. Maybe I overstressed on the importance of winning over pretty footie in part 1 as I don`t want us to go down the Arsenal road. That being said I`m not an advocate of boring football. This takes me to point number 12.

12. All comments saying Jose plays boring football. I remember a comment that he does not take the game to the opposition.-

SABER - true at times we did play boring football under Jose at Chelsea but lets not forget whilst Abramovich`s mission statement to Jose was 'Sign whomever you want and win trophies". Jose delivered this desire to play a brand of football is a newer wish of Roman as he evolved as a football fan. Also it`s completely unfair on Jose when you say he can only play boring football. I`m going to use his last 3 years as a reference. Because he has spent 3 years in La Liga therefore can be compared to everyone version of the attacking team prototype Barca as he played in the same league as them and against the manager who is considered the epitome of attacking footie and the alternative some Chelsea fans want at the Bridge, Pep Guardiola. The stats are there for all to see.

Goals scored -

Season - 09/10

Barcelona - 98
Real Madrid - 102

Season - 10/11

Barcelona - 95
Real Madrid - 102

Season - 11/12

Barcelona - 114
Real Madrid - 121

The illusion of Barca being the epitome of attacking football is mainly due to superior possession.

Possession (on average over the 3yrs)

Barca - 69%
Real Madrid - 56%

So Real not only score more they have a much better goals to possession ratio

13. All comments that say he is better than Pep!

SABER - in what way? He spends less and wins more. He did it with a weaker team and less skilled players? Time for facts!

So when you compare the success ratio Mourinho has spent only 0.28 million more then Pep per trophy point; lets not forget in 4 different countries, in 4 different cultures, in 4 different languages with 4 different owners and 4 different transfer budgets and with no team arguably as strong as the one Pep had under him, at his home club with the best players speaking his native tongue a former club legend

If anyone still believes Pep is better you are deluded my friend. Because by your version Tito Villlanova must be the best ever!

14. The comments that the youth will suffer

SABER - while the likes of PEP were afforded the luxury of patience and the famous and undoubtedly best La Masia academy, Jose was offered no such luxury when he joined Chelsea. The youth products of then are no way close to the McEachran`s and Piazon`s of today. Plus the demands of then and now are not the same. Chelsea has evolved and so has Jose and like I`ve always said FFP will turn out to be a blessing in disguise to the chaotic paradise that`s Chelsea!

Well, it's not going to be Pep - he's off to Bayern! If it's going to be Jose, for us, then, at least it should sort out the Lamps/Ash/JT problems: if Jose comes, can you see his letting those three go? And can you see his allowing them to go to United? No way... not unless, of course, he's going to United, then all three will go there, too!!!! And they will all come back to haunt us!!!! That, and Raffa still in charge next season? I think I'm going to be ill!!!
BlueGenes
GREAT article now that peps at bayern jose is sure to come
Humza_96
Why not go for Pellegrini? (The coach of Malaga) i may have spelt his name wrong, but he got a record amount of points for Real during his first year, and now he has made malaga a fantastic team
bleedblueSTL
If Rafa manages to have Chelsea playing good attacking soccer, and wins one of the major cups besides challenging for the Premiership title, Would this talk of having Mourinho or another Coach still be relevant ? Would Fans still hate Rafa if, he has a successful interim period as a Coach at Chelsea ?

Dont even know what to say or where to start! Its so long with so many numbers being thrown around that it looks like Osbourne's crazy budget!!! Good work though Saber.

Saber - Thank you for your all your time and effort regarding this analysis...I would take Jose in a second...

@Saber: Good points, you really love Jose. I have to accept Jose's Chelsea was defensively SICK.>>1>> IMO Jose is an attention seeker, I want Chelsea to move on from the past, If he comes he might want us to keep the old guard.>>2>> Frank is a legend but I am sick and tired of media talking **** about Chelsea cause of Frank's contract, it is always in the news. No player is bigger than the club Frank/Terry/Cole/Cech/Hazard etc..>>3>> If we don't get a big name manager that is not the end of the world, we should do alright in EPL with a decent manager.

I am so grateful that Guardiola will go to Bayern and I would pick Mourinho ahead of him at any given day. Mourinho has the personality, experience and acumen to be succesful in different footballing cultures which is worth so much more than what Guardioala has to give. Guardiola never really showed anything spectacular or impressive. He won trophies with a team that's also won them under Rijkaard, so that pretty much sums it up how much Barca's success depends on their coach. They didn't even have a proper coach for the last few weeks because Tito Vilasomething was ill and still managed to stay miles ahead of anyone else in their league.
ElMagicoNino
The only stumbling block will be Abramovich. I guess he'll have to make a decision based on what is more important to him: personal pride or a brilliant coach and a succesful club. Seems so easy to me, but it will definitely be a struggle for him to decide. I certainly hope Jose comes back.
ElMagicoNino
If Mou comes back,i want Lamps gone!!! Lukaku could become our next Drogba.

Nice one Saber... Will be tough but wish Jose comes.

Just saw the headline on NewsNow ''5 reasons why Guardiola picked Bayern''. I did not read it but one of them is probably that Chelsea didn't want him ;) I don't really buy into the media hype about RA's admiration of Guardiola.
ElMagicoNino
i think it is clear now dat pep is munich bound

Saber..my goodness this it a tome..you have really outdone yourself here. I agree with much of what you have written so eloquently here. Jose would probably be our best choice for manager especially where we find ourselves right now but the greatest impediment will be Roman. Those two both have egos the size of Everest and for Jose to return Roman will have to eat a hefty dose of humble pie and give him total control of football matters including ins and outs of players. That has never happened in the Roman era at Chelsea and sadly i dont think that will change. Roman is dangerously stubborn..Chelsea will have to be at rock bottom failure levels for him to change the way he does things and meanwhile Jose has so many other options out there..he wont be waiting for Roman and chelsea FC to get their act together.

Before I even respond in detail, any individual in denial about Barca being the epitome of good football is as deluded as those who believed Steven Gerard say Joe Cole was as good as Messi
@Mq
Saber brilliant. I mean its top notch. I said many times before Roman made the biggest mistake when he let Jose go. He can rectify it by bringing him back. Btw, saber...just ignore the @Mq kid.
Keyser Soze
I for want Jose in the club. He will make decision on player, whether they will play or not. I just want elephant out of the room. No matter how good some player will claim to be and use that as their power, they are shipped and later on humiliated by mourinho's team.
drogforever
As much as I and everyone would love to see Jose back at SB he will want things his own way and that aint gonna happen here.
Elbowz
Roman should swallow his pride because Mou loves chelsea and fans and players support him. The only concern with mou is can he integrate our young players. He did do good job on creating that arrogant brat balotelli. He is also giving varane chance to play. But if Mou does come Mata and Marin will be first one to get chop, since neither one them knows concept of tracking back.

I would rather we appoint Adi Viveash than have Jose come back... but really, I hope Adi Viveash would one day have the opportunity to coach the 1st team, that guy will be a great coach imo.... Anyone watched the FA youth cup today and see how he made changes and changed tactics to steal victory from 2 goals down....

Latunvic....Any manager can coach this team with the kind of player we have. But, that manager should not only be tactically smart but politically too.

Haha. In your face @mq. Great job Dr Saber, as usual. Unlucky for us as Pep is going to Bayern, if not, surely we are gonna see another "dope" who failed at Chelsea :p

@Mq Anyone who believes the Barca style of football can just be bought to the club through pep and implemented in our first team from the offset is just as deluded! I bet my life that Bayern wont be playing Barca style football next season!

great piece saber, but for JM to come back home, RA needs to finally learn his lessons and "let football people run a football club" said by Wilkins who got sacked right after he said it!!! All he needs to do as an owner is just build the right structure at board level and reap in the rewards.... i mean most of it is already there, if JM decides to come back, RA has to give him control over the squad... thus he'll know he is backed by the owner who doesn't interfere with his work, and will let JM implement the youth into the squad as soon as they are ready!!! Its really a simple fix, but extremely hard to imagine Roman letting anyone have that power, ie actually being a manager and not a coach!

How did Mourinho win his two Champions Leagues?2004 with Porto-when Scholes' goal was disallowed. He would have been knocked out otherwise.Inter-2010.There was a foul on Kalou at the stroke of half-time which should have been awarded as a penalty and you idiots would have got a second away goal.Foul by Walter Samuel on Drogba and a penalty in the second leg.Against us in the semis,Diego Milito's offside goal in the first leg. That Portuguese idiotic ref was Mourinho's friend.Hence, enough said.Second leg-Bojan's goal in injury time disallowed. So,this is how Mourinho won two CLs.How did Pep win?Clean and clear.Chelsea fans moan about the 2009 semi-final.Only there were two penalties.Pique and Eto'o handballs.Bosingwa fouled Henry in the first leg, which was a clear penalty. And we got the revenge for 2005.Your controversial skipper scored an unfair goal.Carlvalho fouled Valdes.Eto'o should have been awarded a penalty and it would have been 3-3 and game over for you boys. But Roman had already paid the ref.In 2012,Pep would have won another CL,if Cahil's foul on Iniesta was awarded as a penalty,Ashley Cole's handball just before the 50 million flop's goal.Had the refs been fair,Pep would have had 4 CLs and Mourinho would have none.We smashed the loud-mouth the day he became the Madrid manager. So,overall,Pep is miles miles better.MQ is hated but he's right. We play the best football world has ever seen.Pep deserves the whole credit for that.Mourinho can only park the bus.He is more of a one-trick pony. And Mourinho and Chelsea would work very well.Mediocre manager managing a mediocre club. You are right about that. Can't wait to smash him when he's at Chelsea.Yes,we Catalans hate Chelsea as much as Real Madrid, because they are a disgrace to football. And don't be ignorant of the fact of our homegrown quota.70-80% of our starting line-up is homegrown.Hope we get the opportunity to smash you because currently you are not even on Shakthar's level. They sent you to eventually where you guys belong.Enjoy Thursdays.

Are you seriously comparing us with Real Madrid? They have been on our toes since a decade and we have not even spent half of them.Anyway, bring on Mourinho and Chelsea again, but this time with a fair ref.And the whole world knows which team is the best and plays the best football, apart from jealous Real Madrid,Chelsea,Milan and Manchester United fans.

1. For all the research you did, I’m appalled that you still made some points without any evidence to back such. You said “Moses was a steal for 10Mil when the likes of @mq were screaming for 40Mil Hulk. Hulk went to Zenit and we know how they feel to have him” what are you suggesting, that he’s been a flop?? None of anyone who’s ever said this has provided any evidence to back such up, I’d appreciate greatly if you provided such evidence, especially as it is well known that Hulk was “hated” by the team captain and some team members because of the salary he earned (thus implying he was a “board” purchase more than anything). While you @ it, bear in mind that he’s playing with teammates who don’t want him, he arrived in August with the Russian season drawing close to a break. 2. You said “Marin deal was a great Plan B” but, from the football (or lack thereof) we have seen it’s clear he hasn’t made much of an impact (what has he added to the squad??), so clarify what’s great about the Marin deal lad?? *smh 3. You made some points about Emanalo and Mourinho potentially working cordially without any reliable fact/reason to back this. You said “Emanalo is not a threat to Mourinho as he is not a potential replacement as Avram Grant was” Kindly provide the quote where, on Grant’s hiring, it was evident he was a potential replacement. For a man who ‘researched’ that you haven’t provided a quote on this renders this point invalid Furthermore you said “Emanalo is not big enough a personality for Mourinho to be uncomfortable with” remind me again, was Avram such a personality?? Matter of fact, was there anyone of such a “personality” during Mourinho’s tenure at Chelsea?? Mr Researcher...*smh 4. You quoted my comments then said “my reputation against your son, we all know who’ll lose by a landslide” funny for an acting, playwriting, singing, composing, dancing doctor to mention “reputation”. If I may ask, apart from the Hulk and Lucas Moura transfers (for whom Chelsea wanted but were outbid) and that RDM would not have us playing good football (which he did, although once under pressure we saw what I meant when I said he’d show his “true colours”) how many of my predictions/assertions have eventually not turned out true, do you need a reminder because I’ll gladly dig up the article that summarised this for your convenience 5. Barca’s obsession and hatred for the Blues you say, link please?? You did the research after all, not so??
@Mq
6. You said Madrid’s failure is not due to footballing terms?? LoL for a man who did his research, such a comment is pathetic. No player, especially at Madrid with the pride at stake vs Barca, has been identified (in the Media or anywhere else) that they will deliberately lose to get the manager sacked. Actually, how many players have you noted (with your research) that have been credible identified as being such (willing to lose deliberately)?? To compare Mourinho’s tenure to AVB is even more laughable because, willing players aside, are they no footballing reasons we were failing under AVB?? I recall some mentioning defensive highline, Torres’ inability to score despite the number of games he played, defensive howlers such as those vs Arsenal that cost us the game, AVB “PUBLICLY” denouncing his need for the players to back the project but only Roman’s support he said he needed (de-motivating the team) AVB supposedly refusing to adapt his football style to the “ages” of the players (as RDM did)....as you can see clearly, there are plenty “football reasons” why AVB failed, so if you want/seek to use anyone as an example to your clearly flawed reasoning, use some1 similar. In AVB’s tenure there are plenty football reasons why he failed, same goes with Mourinho right now You said Iker and Ramos are the problem, are you implying that 2 players only the reason Madrid is flopping right now?? If that were the case, surely Madrid would have won the matches without Iker/Ramos playing, not so?? *smh* when Mourinho left Chelsea, according to you it was a personal-induced decision by Roman (you obviously won’t mention that we were clearly having issues with our football too) and now, as he clearly agitates his desire for departure, Madrid is flopping. Either you ignorant to that trend (leaving a “high profile” talent-laden club mired in controversy) or you deliberately choosing to overlook it. Either way, an exhibit of flawed reasoning if you ask me
@Mq
@saber Both the issues you described about AVARAM and Scheva is somewhat true. BUT that is not the reason JM was sacked in a second by RA in 2007. The press made the fans believe that CFC sacked him bcz of the pblms with the owner. The quotes i made in my comments are not by me. It was made by RA himself after the sacking of JM when he invited some CFC fans to his hotel after CL away game at valencia. As usual the press has done their utmost to bury that bcz they cant say JM acted bigger than the CFC so thats the reason RA sacked him. Finally you can make all the logical discussions and points BUT "NEVER GO BACK TO YOUR OLD GIRLFRIEND" It will always end in tears. SO JM is a old girlfriend of CFC who will posses a magic at SB but no wise man went back to their past and lived happily. There is no second comings in life the same applies to football also. JM and chelsea is over. GET over it guys. I will take DAVID MOYES or MARTINEZ with HIDDINK to guide them for the first 2 yrs from the board and revamp the entire culture of the club. JM is not the answer at all for the pblm CFC has now.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@saber All this idiotic obsession of CFC fans with JM is so pathetic. There is more than enough young managers out there they will do what JM did in the chelsea before with proper backing and time. CFC fans thinks that JM is the only manager in the world who can win trophies for chelsea. KLOPP is 10 times better manager than JM. WHY? BCZ with out even 10M budget he revamped Dortmund single handedly as a force to be reckoned with in germany. Going back to JM is 100% end up in disaster. When JM is here Chelsea is the only team with that kind of financial muscles. Now there is CITY UTD they are blowing CFC out of water in wages and fees. JM had almost 25 world class international players to pick from. CFC had almost 2 world class players for EACH and EVERY position at that time. JM cant win at CFC now what he won from 04-07. 7 trophies in 3 yrs. The fans will question him on each and every turn after his appointment about how he is not the same and how the current team is no where good enough compared to 04. JM is HISTORY. Our fans are not understanding the mentality of RA. For RA chelsea is like his CHILD. Each and every father want his child to be the best in the world on everything. So the obession of RA with winning with style and all. RA is no fool to believe JM's char will change. Everybody at CFC fully know that if you appoint JM expect controversy after controversy with out any breathing space. RA is not giving contracts to JT AC DD FL bcz of the same reason. RA want CLEAN IMAGE and clean football with JOY and FUN at the same time winning trophies. WITH JM there will be always controversy or dire football or bad image. You can write all you want saber but the simple FACT is JM dont have even 1% chance to return to CFC when RA is the owner. All these ***** press is writing about how RA and JM rekindled are *****. The press is fishing for stories. The minute chelsea appoint JM their tone will change from JM the savior from the man who made RA swallow the humble pie. PRESS will hound chelsea until they sack JM again until then they will write more and more negatives about RA. RA is no fool to believe that the press will call him god for letting JM take over at CFC. So dont hold your breath about JM at CFC. I am fully expecting a rebvamp of the footballing side this summer with another young manager(moyes etc) with helping hand from the like of hiddink in board room for not expecting difficulties like AVB.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@saber Also your argument about JM is a professional and he wont loss the game on purpose is correct. BUT dont under estimate the POLITICIAN inside JM. His ACT now at RM is 100% calculated political move. Ofcourse its a power struggle. But the struggle started with JM's obsession of spanish players at RM being friends with barcelona's spanish players. This is the core to their entire mess. JM knows only way to achieve success "US vs WORLD".But at RM their the clean image of RM is more important to their players and board than any manager whether its JM or anybody. His OBSESSION on breaking the relationship between BARCA and RM players is what made the players to undermine him. HIS THEORY of INVISIBLE is what the core of the reason of player power at CFC. HE created this invisible and finally he also felled victim to that. His relationship with his invisible are not at all ideal in his final 2 seasons. JM has much negative as any other coach out there. So dont overblow the "RETURN OF MESSIAH TO CFC". JM is a very very good manager but he has flaws like any manager so your portroyal of JM THE LEGEND and ONLY ONE WHO CAN WIN at CFC is downright insulting and pathetic.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
I need to avoid this front page more often, the amount of nativity on here is just absolutely amazing. Jeez. Great article Saber and good points as well.
nelyvanile
@Saber Why am i calling JM's la liga troubles as ACT. JM fully know that he cant win la liga this year. His only chance of staying at RM is to win CL and cup to go out on a high. But if he fails in his task this year he needed a scapegoat to blame all the negatives. Who is better than RM's iconic captain? Even though IKER's form is not that much good this season only a fool will drop him for ADAN. More than 70% fans voted that JM destroyed the royal image of RM. After this so much negativity engulfing their club RM board overruled him by letting the players speak to the press regularly against the wishes of JM. WHY? Bcz with out good media portroyal no club can survive. Not barca not RM. So the MEDIA HATE CHELSEA so we wont care about the media will only work for the CFC fans. BUT its 100% important for RA and CFC board. With out good and clean image they cant push for sponsorship and more money. This is another reason behind the boards refusal in allowing JT FL AC DD to continue at CFC. This is the reason behind CFC's all out seduction of PEP. IS PEP is a good manager like JM? No. BUT PEP is 100% clean guy unlike JM who is dirty as they come when it comes to IMAGE. JM is loved by Porto,CFC,Inter fans only. Now RM fans are turning against him bcz now he is not winning anything yet destroying their clubs image. IF JM comes back to CFC he will once again destroy the image CFC is trying to build. Great football with out controversy and winning trophies.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Like i said JM is a very good manager but he is not fit for cfc now. He was fit for cfc in 2004 bcz we are not a BIG club that time.So we needed to win almost all the trophies to establish us in the elite group. Now what we need is a manager who build a CLUB. Not just the first team like JM. If you think JM will play KDB JOSH RYAN OSCAR COURTIOUS etc and loose some cups for them to gain the experience then you are having a laugh. Even with all their injury and suspension pblms at RM this season JM is still playing ESSIEN (loan) and CARVALHO(36)in their defense in the la liga which barca has won already. So think twice about the imaginary scenario about how JM will change his personality and how he will suddenly play 10 chelsea youth players in CC and F.A cup.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
jose wont come back to chelsea....pep snubbing will also added another fuel on fire...the one thing with roman is no matter how bad things are going on..he will not get back to the one with whom he had a personal issue...and jose is one of it...jose was sacked because of footballing as well personal reason with roman...why would roman sack a manager if he had won back to back pl for chelsea...its something regarding jose ego which clashed with roman about who has more power at chelsea and you know the latter....and about player power which you are talking about...remember he was the person responsible for having player power at chelsea...the player who were responsible for player power at chelsea are ones of jose favourite and the so called untouchables at that time....dont want that stuff right here happening again.

Oh goodness, i have never seen in vital chelsea such an elaborate article with statistics to prove every point made. even Pep Guardiola would concur with this.
The Blue Indian
Go through the link i posted guys and think twice about JM. HE started to ACT LIKE A GOD at CFC. The major reason for the sacking of JM is not widely reported. All was reported is his famous falling out with RA over scheva affair. But there is more to the whole RA & JM issue. JM started to think that he is bigger than CFC bcz of his success in the 3 yrs he constantly blames the board and RA for all the failures. RA and the board clearly asked JM to tone down the controversy image of chelsea and asked him to move towards exciting football and integration of the youth culture. But JM belittled the club and RA at each and every given opportunity in the press. Constantly telling the press about the board meetings. His comparison of how RA and board wants him to make great omelettes with third rate eggs. Not to mention that JM's stock was falling rapidly from the 3rd year onwards with SAF created a new team who challenges CFC in every opportunity. So he took the easy route by getting the sack from chelsea to stay up forever in the chelsea faithfuls hearts.Even if JM comes back to chelsea it is going to end up in disaster only.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Regardless of what the resident trolls here think, this is the best 'Jose Defence' I've seen. Cold hard truth garnished with facts! I for one, don't want Jose back by all means but I'd rather have him instead of Rafa. Now, If you think you hate him that much, start sharpening your Vocal Cords and start painting those 'Jose Out' placards for WHEN he is appointed. Mugs.
zilosxp
1)Avram or Emenalo It doesnt matter. JM should be the alpha male. Not only in CFC. Any where and everywhere. IF there is a ALPHA MALE at CFC its RA. No idiotic manager will ever think himself bigger than RA at CFC. But JM still thinks that he is bigger than RA at CFC.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
2)Player power. You are talking about Player pblm at RM.So JM has every right to bench IKEr. I AGREE with this. BUT this is the same JM who fueled the player power culture CFC whole heartily bcz it suited for his purposes that time. Even makelele said in a interview about how JM massaged the EGOS of players like JT FL etc until they started to receive the praises. After that JM's tone changed about how he is the only reason for the success of CFC. JM is no stranger to "Success is 100% bcz of me" "Failure is 100% others fault sometimes its the players or board or owner etc"
BlueAndWhiteArmy
3) The negatives of JM now outweighs the positives he could bring to the club now.So i dont want him back. Its the other way around in 04.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@BAWA. I'm sorry mate ure starting to sound really annoying, your points are basically all over the place and from an ideology that's non-existent. Do you make up a movie scene in your head or something? Have you ever worked for Chelsea PR before? Then why just come up with things you feel?...I don't see Jose Mourinho coming to Chelsea either, and I'm not making up theories to back my reasoning from gut feeling. Saber points out an article that I don't agree with but it makes a lotta sense because its backed up with pretty good facts and analysis not gut feeling.
nelyvanile
4) Like statistics spending money and trophies wont tell you the whole STORY. IT not about spending BIG MONEY. Its about how you spend big money. If you just look at RAFA's spending at liverpool and JM spending at CFC its almost look like the same but there is a big and subtle diff in between the lines is RAFA needed to generate most money he spent and he constantly need to look for mediocre players in the hope of spending two or three 7 to 10M signings. But with JM he is able to spend in abcolute QUALITY with out any need to generate that money. His most of the signings are in the range of 10 to 30M. In the time of 04 to 07 its roughly of 20 to 40M now.Spending wont tell you the whole story. JM able to hand pick his purchase unlike most manager who need to generate the transfer money first to spend it.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
5)All the big clubs spent money. So its no brainier to argue on that. But all the teams you mentioned has more money in revenues than CFC in the range of 100M more in citys case their owner is wealthier than RA. Chelsea is signing players for big money but the diff now in chelseas strategy is now we are not buying any finished products barring that 50M pussy girl. All the players we bought for the past 3 yrs are less than 23 yrs of age and have more resale value now than the time we signed them.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@nelyvanile I am not making anything up in my mind. If you are ignorant to see through the $hit means its not my fault. What i am saying is behind my consistent reading of all things concerned to CFC in all type of sources. I am not working for CFC's PR dept. But i am no fool either to jump on the JM, FL,JT bandwagon to thrash the board and RA. I am saying things as my opinions. If you feel its annoying then you could just ignore it mate. Like all the FAN BOYS of JM they always say that JM and FL cant do any wrong. But what i am saying is the negative points of JM So it doesnt mean its all lies. What @saber saying in the article is all true.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
We wont get jose after pep went to munich I reckon he will go to city, shocked dont be,heres why, we are not organised in any managerial sense look at the new ground saga and Roman will sack him for the first defeat
herefordchelsea
Point 7 and 8 is already discussed. There is only one ALPHA MALE AT CFC. That is RA. 9 and 10 also i commented on the issues.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Gosh. A perfectly written article has JUST been ruined. Lord knows!!!!!!!!!!
KAKUfrank
All in all i am saying is this. JOSE is very good manager but he is not the only one who could bring success to CFC. Dont hype up JM like he is the GOD of CFC. That is what i am saying. He is a good manager but he is not what we required now. The soap opera surrounds him is way too much. It will destroy the image of CFC forever once more. With just now the club is coming out of all thre race issues player power etc. there is no real need for cfc to go for JM this time around.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
The difference btw urs and Sabers,is that one is backed up with facts and sources the other is just a story from hollywood. I'm not in support of Saber, and I do not see Jose coming to Chelsea, but Saber makes a very good case, and if you want to be debate his points be a lil more insightful. Like you've said ill ignore your comments, which is basically baseless and undermining a pretty good article.
nelyvanile
@nelyvanile If you read something other than VC in the papers then you can know almost all my points are made from sources only. I dont want to waste my time to back up all my comments with links. There is no point in commenting if you need to give source for each and every one of your thoughts. Not all my comments are backed by sources but most of my comments are from my memory about how much i read about cfc in the past and how i interpret them. You can say the same to this particular article written by @saber. He gave the facts by he is also doing the same thing finally with his own conclusions from the facts. Saber is not telling you this is the truth and this is the only truth.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
We can interpret anything the way we want. If saber thinks Jm is the only manager who can bring success to cfc then he is wrong in my opinion. My arguments are coming from that point of view. I amy be wrong but dont come out and dismiss it as i am imagining thinks and i am deluded.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
Saber Duuuuude....This article is the business! well done Old chap... You certainly have me convinced on the Emenalo/Mourinho Issue. I really hope it comes to fruition, as i think the missing ingredient with CFC atm is stable/competent leadership. Throwing away a two goal lead at home with a game we knew we had to win, leaves quite a bit to be desired. Fans booing off the team (under the pretext of booing the manager) again is a little bit counter productive for me but there we are...There is no I in team....Bring on the special one...never ever wanted Pep here and i dont think he would stand up to the rigours of managing a top premiership side - I think Pep knew this as well...
JohnnyOz
I'm in awe of your article sire lol what an effort...

Well said @blueandwhitearmy,ofcourse the valid points you make would not go down well with the JM and FL fanboys but keep up your good work..the neutrals understand your points perfectly

I've not come on here to gloat but to ask the question that now Pep seems to have snubbed you, has Abramovich has made it virtually impossible to attract the really top coach you need & is Jose the only option left open to him? With hanging on to Rafa not an option, who's left that might be willing to work for him?

Could this be the price he'll have to pay for his sacking mentality & interferance? For your sake I hope not, but if RA doesn't let his coaches do the job, it's quite possible that he's on the verge of making your Club un-manageable & that would be disastrous for you & our glorious game.

Spuds-U-Like
"Emenalo is not big enough a personality for mourinho to feel uncomfortable about" @saber,in 2007 was Avram Grant a big personality for mourinho to feel uncomfortable about??,if YES, reason please..
Ken4CFC
@spuds-U-Like, u make valid points but hope u would ask same questions when Levy equally gives AVB the pink slip..
Ken4CFC
Can't put too much of a defense up there Ken, Levy has too much previous mate. The only difference I can see is one of interference, Levy does tend to let his managers manage & supports them in transfers. however, he does tend to limit those transfers & only gets the targets in if he can do a good deal!

I will say this though, life at the Bridge certainly isn't dull under RA! Only you guys can say whether the seemingly bizarre antics of Abramovic towards his managers have been worth it should the current situation prove to be the beginning of the end of his time with you.

Spuds-U-Like
Technical facts are boring. No to Jose.
foreign_viewer
I won’t rule him out returning to Chelsea (although I wish he didn’t) but to say he and Chelsea are a match made in heaven, only an “extraordinary” individual would dare try justify such folly.... I guess if you are doctor who dances, composes songs/poems, sings, acts, is a playwriter then you are clearly multi-talented, “extraordinary” perhaps??
@Mq
Finally....7. Lad you clearly so consumed with your desire for Mourinho that you fail to overlook his evident failures, even Sir Bobby Charlton said Mourinho’s reputation wasn’t ideal for ManUre, hell Madrid papers (Marca for 1) that have more information than you have VC “expert” are openly agitating for his departure which begs the question, is it Madrid or he the problem?? 1 person calls you a horse, shake it off, a 2nd calls you a horse slap them but when a 3rd person calls you a horse, go buy a saddle....*smh 8. Some1 rightly pointed the garbage Mourinho was saying before he was sacked/resigned, I remember very well the omelettes analogy to the media. Would you really take a man serious who basically spits in the face of the people he expects “help” from?? We had 2 “good” players for basically every position, talent like Joe Cole (at the time) Glen Johnson (at the time) Kalou (at the time) were languishing on the bench without further development, yet you basically condoning him asking for even more players?? *smh* talk about flawed logic 9. Goodness me you said “as regards to player favouritism, Mourinho rewards players who work hard and perform, if they don’t they are benched” I’ll tell you what, do yourself a favour Mr “thorough researcher” and research about the “ untouchables” because clearly you the only 1 that seems not to know/be wilfully ignorant of such.*smh* 10. All in all, while you do make some interesting points (financial calculations) its evident from your flawed logic that you are so obsessed with Mourinho coming to Chelsea that you overlook, rather foolishly because of your persistent unsubstantiated stubbornness, his character flaws and the negativity surrounding him. He is a good Manager no doubt, but definitely not a Manager that advocates youth development (something evident in our current transfer policy) does not possess the abilities of sustaining an aesthetically beautiful football style (again, not necessarily tiki-taka) attracts too much negativity with his insults about opposition (Managers, ref’s, media etc) is a well known megalomaniac who couldn’t even attend a football event because he knew he wouldn’t win (talk about bitterness, he should learn from his own players who even congratulated the opposition) is a proven seeker of older, more experienced while less technically-gifted players (which is something we clearly are trying to avoid) has no documented/identified/rumoured future development plan wherever he goes (how many players can you allude to his development) who has openly mentioned how he derives comfort in mobility (was it not he that recently said he was driven to want to succeed in different environments presumably because he’s Portuguese??).
@Mq
@spuds-U-Like,again i agree with u,if only roman would allow them do there job and not force a player or 2 on them..
Ken4CFC
@Spuds-U-Like What you are saying about world class managers are somewhat true. But i think CFC is not looking for a manager in the TOP 3 in the world for now. AVB is an unknown manager with only 1 season experience. He was appointed by RA just for this fact only. RA is not that much naive like the papers wants us to believe. He foreseen the pblm with FFP and the instability in managers and wanted to move towards his 3 year project with AVB. AVB's only requirement for the first 2 yrs at CFC is the TOP 4 finish but its unfortunate that he was sacked.Either its avb's fault or players fault or RA's fault is another matr. But i dont think RA has abandoned that plan at all. Only twist in this whole tale is RDM winning the CL and fa cup. So it forced RA to give RDM the chance whether he can cut it in the top. So he is also gone. Now RAFA is appointed just to make sure CFC wont go out of top4. Even though i cant see RAFA winning us any cups with his rotation and "i will take 0-0 draw in 5 games than 3 wins and 2 loss" attitude. So all in all RA's plan to revamp the squad is still in motion. Only the managers name is going to be different this time.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@ Saber there are some comments on this forum i would ignore if i were you ...I hope i'm not giving too much away when i say the authors name sounds like Iq...lol yup Iq of an 8 year old. Anyone who writes meaningful articles can appreciate the amount of work that has gone into this article, not only that, there are facts to substantiate his arguments each step of the way...and you actually want to read the whole thing which says a lot for the sentence construction and flow...Good job
JohnnyOz
@mq,quite interestingly u hit the nail on the head.u sure have your way with words,i enjoyed readin every bit of your comment above and am anxiously waiting for the response of the author or his followers
Ken4CFC
@JohnnyOz This is a well written and researched article. One of the very best article i saw in VC. But What i am illustrating again and again is that the way @saber and other JM lovers implying is "JM is the only manager ever win trophies for CFC" "JM is the best thing to ever happen for CFC" "JM is the only coach who can coach CFC" This is the type of statements that i hate. JM is a very good manager. Nobody is denying that. The way he won league titles in 4 countries is testament to that. But that doesnt mean he is the best manager for CFC in this summer. WE need a CLUB building coach at this point of history. Building the club from TOP to BOTTOM with patience and understanding of youth at the same time not falling behind too much from TOP of the football world. He is not the right choice in that matter for most fans. What is wrong with that. From PORTO to RM with in this 10 years. Somebody please tell me which YOUNG player who is made by JM. Just tell me a single player who is naive and young but JM made him a great player? I cant think of any one. JM is great at making good players into believe themselves as world beaters but i cant remember which UNKNOWN player he made as world beater.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
I can see it now. Mourinho benching Hazard, Oscar and Mata because they too small. Bye to any player under 23. Hoofed balls up to Ba. Bus parking vs teams like Wigan. The complete destruction of the academy.
foreign_viewer
Fv,the academy would be effectively shut down hahaha
Ken4CFC
News is that Rafa Benitez might be sacked with a permanent coach immediately taking over. Any guess who it is?
Diego_rodriguezz
@Diego_rodriguezz Where did you heard it mate?
BlueAndWhiteArmy
I WOULD GO FOR ZOLA AND POYET COMBINATION FOR CHELSEA NEXT SEASON....WOULD BE GREAT THEFANS WILL LOVE THEM AND THEY WILL BLEND YOUTH AND EXPERIENCE PROPERLY....OUR PEP AND TITO...JUST THAT ROMAN SHOULD ALLOW THEM TO BUILD FROM THE BOTTOM...WE HAVE PLAYERS NOW ALL WE NEED IS A PROPER MANAGERS WHO CAN GUIDE THEM PROPERLY...
shlok27
@ blue and white army...i can see reasoning in your post above, but i'll stop short of saying that i agree with it, cos i honestly don't...I think Jose works with the goals that are set out for him, by his bosses. If the bosses at chelsea say that academy building a la arsenal is the main priority, then Jose will try his best to do that...Personally, i think Roman's target in 2013 (esp with FFP looming) is to find a balance between continuing to win trophies and to try to make our Academy more valuable to the club in terms of its successes. If this job spec is given to JM and the relevant support is provided, i dont think there are many managers out there that can do better. Having said this, i think the most important thing for chelsea over the next few years is management stability, and in Jose Mourinho as has been proved in the past, we have the best chance of having a little of bit of much needed stability at the present time. Anybody else and they have to get results from the get-go or risk the boards trigger finger...Academy successes are a means to an end and not an end in itself...and God knows how proud i am of the quality and level of our academy atm. and guess who has invested significantly in this youth structure? yup you guessed it RA (so perhaps he's not a daft mug like a lot of knowitalls on this site allude to. he may actually know what he's doing or trying to do. In my eyes, the reason he has successfully attained his billions is that he knows when to separate Sentiment from value adding decisions (i.e. when to be "ruthless"...Those of us who have aspirations to attain any thing near that level of financial success will do well to learn from him...IMO
JohnnyOz
@JohnnyOz The point i need to make about JM and youth is this. RM's defense is ravaged by injuries and suspensions this season. WITH JM accepted that la liga is over for RM yet he is still playing Carvalho(36) Essien(loan& midfielder) in the defense for them against the bottom team ossasuna. What is the point in this? JM's LUST for trophies and FAME will never decrease unlike our fans thinking here. That is what JM is all about. Winning everything each and every season. Melodramatic to a point everybody will get sick with the sight of him. JM always claims about how he want to come to england. His stmt about england return has lot to do about his antics in spain and italy. BOTH countries will respect a winner only when they are humble unlike england press who expect to write "JM goes for the toilet each and every morning". With all his win in ITALY whole football fans are against him except inter fans. Do we really need to go through all that once again? JM will make sure CFC's name is thrashed for another 10 to 20 yrs even if he comes and stay for another 3 yrs. Media will hound RA and the board like dogs until they sack him again. From the day they sacked JM they will completely change their tone about how RA and the board is pathetic and how great JM is.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
The reason why jose became a legend is because his legacy was continued by the old guard. All our success is based on the jm template. We have won everything till date following that template. Ra doesn't want that and that is one reason for not giving new contracts to lampard, drogba or cole. I don't think that a man like roman is an idiot, who does not know what is happening at the club. He knows cole and lampard are still some of the best in the world, but he wants none of the jm mentality at the club. He wants a fresh mentality. His recruitment of avb is the case in point. Even recruitment of rafa is because rafa is a dimetric opposite of jm. Roman is the same man who brought guus hiddink to chelsea when he was contracted with russia and he sure helped fabio cappelo get the russia job. But fabio is not our manager due to his love for terry and lampard. With ffp our purses are tight and we are a club of great ambitions. To do this we need a manager of proven pedigree who would 1. Install a template that can play good balanced football for the next 7 to 10 years. 2. Develop the current breed of youth in to leaders. 3. Utilise the produce from the academy. 4. make friends to get sponsors 5. Rid us of the ghost of jm. Does jm fit the bill? Maybe if he can swallow his pride and work towards the above. If not than there are many talented managers out there that can be hired. But, will these managers like klop, lowe come to us. That is difficult as no manager in any sanity leave his stable job to sit on a frying pan. This would require both parties to sit back and introspect. We should be able to provide any new manager coming here some sort of job security for atleast 2 years.
Blue India
Was talking to a friend from my hometown Valencia. He is an amateur plater with good contacts and was quite serious about it.
Diego_rodriguezz
with pep now at munich. Watching the dortmund vs munich battle will be all the more exciting. Bundesliga will now definitely attract a lot of neutrals. I have seen klopp's teams; they play a great game of football and klops passion is addictive and the atmosphere in the stadium is something else.
Blue India
for some reason, i never feel that Chelsea's name is getting trashed or maybe i just couldnt care less? because i dont believe what the media write or say or in their values re whats right or wrong...i believe in what i believe in and thats it. The thing that riles me in all of this is not other club fans/media/the FA or whoever else wants to take potshots at Chelsea on any given day, it is what chelsea fans think - and this is why i get so disappointed by some peps at times when i'm on here, but again i look at the positives because i know some real chelsea fans and they have good views, not always agreeable to mine. but good views (they dont go about constantly trying to bite the hand that feeds for one and having unrealistic expectations cos they know "from whence they came".) unfortunately i can't attest to the veracity of all a lot of the fans on this forum so it is impossible to tell who is a proper fan and who is just on the bus for a few stops and will get off a few stops down the road when it gets too cold /hot...you can also generally tell by the reasonableness of comments people post...so for example, while @mq generally sounds like he likes to make the most controversial comments ever made by man lol, you can tell by some of his comments that he has blue blood in him...and so on..
JohnnyOz
@bawa, you make some valid points but atimes I feel u overdo it, are u saying fans who have not tasted the joy of winning the pl to not be filled with gratitude towards the man who gave them that happiness in quick sucession? Everyother trophy we won after mou is due to his foundation and organisation, his core players and buys are the ones winning it for us, so imo, if another manager cannot build from the scratch and give us another identity like the one mou gave us, then I won't believe there is another one like him, we all serve our different gods because we believe they are omnipresent, until they stop being there for us our faith in them will not diminish, if roman was that fixated on changing our image and brand of football, why did he sack AVB? Pls don't give me that talk that we are on the verge of losing out of top 4, if roman was true to himself and isn't success obsessed, he'll leave avb to do his things in ways he dim fit, roman should have backed him at all cost and stuck to him even if we end up being 10th, we can argue forth and on, we can agree with saber or bawa, its all boils down to RA, if he trully care about the club, he should take a step back, appoint a DOF who he respects and let him and the board take the board to the next level, as for me, I agree that roman and jose are the perfect fit, reason? It Is because both would get success at all cost and they forget that u can't eat ur cake and have it, either u sow and wait for a 2-3 years to reap the harvest or go to the mall to get whatever u need for a quick fix. Bawa and saber nice posts guys. We'll see what roman have tucked away for us next season, he'll surely suprise us again..
Desmondadonis
Pep to bayern. So all, Lampard hater, avb fanboys etc. Wo will you dream of now coming to chelsea? LÖW? Overrated manager. Cant win with a team with bastian, lahm, gomez, hummels, etc. Klopp wont leave dortmund. Germans dont like leaving their country.
Lakupiippu
Low is not overrated , his attacking mentality is so crazy it actually works , germany losing major finals is not lows fault , it's the players , I've never seen them play amazingly in major finals , the players choke , if a player isn't confident , a manager can't do anything (TORRES)
CFCTalal
@Desmondadonis I am not taking anything away from the by gone era of JM, JT, FL etc. I have utmost respect and love for what they have done for my beloved CFC. But like i said you are also over stating the achievements of JM to the point like he is the only one who can achieve success at CFC. This is what wrong with our support. With proper backing and time lot of young managers out there they could do the job like JM even better than him.Like i said once you broke up with your girlfriend then its the end. You will always have a soft part for her but if you go back to her then it wont work out in life. JM is like past girlfriend.
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@Desmondadonis Anyway lets see how the summer will play out for CFC. Like you said i was also very very critical of RA when he sacked. Still i am saying what i said the day he sacked AVB. Still i will gladly give up our last seasons CL and Fa cup if it means integrating youth and building strong foundations in the first 3 yrs and become a empire like barca or bayern etc. No quick fix or throwing money like crazy
BlueAndWhiteArmy
@saber, you crushed him mate...his response was poor, no evidence or sources to back....ironic in that it was this he was trying to use as an excuse.
Ess...DaBison
the only reason i would say to jose is the negative press that he brings with him. with JT scandal and other things the club does not need any more negative attention that jose brings. if only he tones down his rhetoric a bit he is welcome anytime.
SALZBURRY
i meant no to jose*
SALZBURRY
@SALZBURRY, Mou would take the pressure off the players and take it on him. My opinion is that he is the best option for our club, but because of the nature of RA, I seriously doubt Mou will come here. @saber, top articel, this took you a while to write, so thank you for your effort
icebluelg
what's happening is for the good of the club. This fire will either burn the club or we might arise like a phoenix. Interesting! very interesting indeed!! Who will now coach chelsea and rebuild the squad? Will a big manager come to chelsea for money alone? Now that the german league is expected to have more eyeballs next season. This is just the right kick that the management needed to wake up. Fans deserting the stadium, managers snubbing the club, what's next? If we see similar response next weekend where will the management hide in shame? Can poyet or clarke build a squad for the future? Maybe but will they come? Maybe not, especially now that pep has taken the moral high ground and made an example out of chelsea. Now i am sure the next manager to come here will be a big profile manager with a written no pressure contract. Now, i see some light at the end of the tunnel. KuDOs to pep and fans. I am hopeful.
Blue India
whether you guys like it or not, the owner had enough of Mourinho's way of playing football thus he spent more than $100M to purchase young talent who wan the ball under their feet. Jose is not the right guy to lead them.
zosBlue
I am pretty sure Jose is not coming. If, I say if he his really on his way here FL would have been given a contract extension with Mou blessing. I shouldn't be surprise if RAFA get it fulltime. The consensus here is a enough of Roman sacking the coaches, 9 coaches in 10years since he came. Now we have a manager, why don't we all agreed he been given the time to build a team? The same people that want RAFA out will come back here (VC) when whenever the next coach is sack that it's now 10 in 10 years. That is hypocrisy of the highest order. Alot of worst things has happened in the world and people has always moved on. Why are we not moving on from what he said about the fans? ROMAN might just be listening to all our stability request and give RAFA a 7 year contract like Newcastle did with Pardew. Are we not going to support the team after that?
jollyheart Torres
Hahaha...Rafa a 7 year contract...just take a rifle and shoot me mate...hahaha.
nelyvanile
@ Nelyvanile, we can't eat our cake and have it. We have a coach now why sack him and go back to the unknown? Stability is what everybody is calling for. So we need to be careful for what we wish for.
jollyheart Torres
yeah, shoot me too
Gaban
Right about know DI MATTEO would have been working his magic!
Bain^DoggZ
i am behind gaban. Shoot me too.
Blue India
I know it's all because we love our club but can there be decency here? Can fans contribute without trying to be offensive? Because I don't believe you get your point(s) across by being offensive/abusive, you rather do the opposite. Bring decency in here & VC front page will be a happy place to be.
Ibidayo
This hatred for rafa is gettin out of hand, some u would go jump off the cliff when u see rafa here next season, well if that happens i wish u lots a safe trip to hell
Ken4CFC
@icebluelg i agree mou takes all the attention on himself deflecting it away from the players and the club. but the only thing i am asking cant we have at least 1 season without any of these controversies. carlo was decent man, likeable enough and under him we did not have any issues with the media. all these -ve antics and news do hurt the clubs image in the long run.
SALZBURRY
@Jolly...Stability is not just managerial,it involves all corners of the club. Board, youth system, fans, back room staffs, squad e.t.c are all involved in building the team. Arsenal have stability in management and program, but lack squad stability. Don't under-estimate emotions of fans mate, the only reason majority of Chelsea fan base and the supporter group are all taking this with a pinch of salt is because Rafa has an 'interim' tag around him, there could be mayhem if a contract is handed to him.
nelyvanile
Found out yesterday from a former Chelsea PR that Emenalo suggested Rafa to Roman, and was basically responsible for the deal. Didn't know the man had that much power at the club.
nelyvanile
loool @ Ken4CFC...nice one
JohnnyOz
@nely lol. maybe emenalo should just stick with getting players and leave the managers to roman.
SALZBURRY
@ Nelyvanile, The board has been stable for the past few years now. it's only the first team coach is where we need the stability most. I am not underating the emotions of the fans but don't there more we can do to change the situation if ROMAN really care to give it him fulltime. Portsmouth FC fans won't love their situation either. if they have the power to change it. that show the limited power we have.to change a fanancial situations when the decisions has been made. realistically what power do we fans really have to take ROMAN on if he decide to appoint RAFA as full-time?
jollyheart Torres
Emenalo has a job to do and done without sentiment. Good business decisions are all taken without sentiments that is what make successful people like ROMAN thick.
jollyheart Torres
@SALZBURRY, we did have "the rifle" issue during Carlo's era. Never a dull moment with cfc
Ibidayo
@ Jollyheart Torres - i can see your logic somewhat but Rafa Benitez will be gone in the Summer or before if things get bad...I think Mr Abramovich will have got the fans message and you can see that his PR machine have already been doing some work today in putting full blame for the Tubby appointment on Emenalo...If mourinho comes in the summer (which we gather will be Roman's solo appointment ooooh lol), i reckon the Chief scout duties may once again beckon for Mr Emenalo
JohnnyOz
*Typo* ---but don't there more we can do to >> what can we really do to change the situation if Roman ------ it to him full time?
jollyheart Torres
1 in 2 years is at least better than 1 every fortnight.
SALZBURRY
@salzburg,the john terry vs bridge controversy was also during carlo's reign
Ken4CFC
damn my memory is too short. maybe i need to be treated for amnesia.
SALZBURRY
rifle issue, vanessa issue, jt wembley box issue. guess life is never dull at chelsea.
SALZBURRY
@Jolly. I understand your point mate. Brings me to a quote Jose made in 06/07 in response to suggestions in the Media about Roman's involvement in club matters. “If Roman Abramovich helped me out in training we would be bottom of the league and if I had to work in his world of big business, we would be bankrupt!” Bottom line Roman is good at what he does best (his business empire),and I think he should take a step back and appoint people(Football heads) who are good at running a football club.
