Cole Staying!

Rumours had been rife that Ashley Cole would be leaving Stamford Bridge come the end of the season.

Speculation had been rife that Cole, who supposedly had rejected a one-year deal, would be heading to either Real Madrid or Paris St Germain.

Well, today, it is being reported that Cole, courtesy of a revised offer, has agreed to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Apparently, Cole has put, or is set to, put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the option of a further year, thereby ending speculation that his Chelsea days are approaching a close.

It seems like common sense has prevailed, at long last.

Means Lampard will also be offered a contract. But I think it will be at the end of the season.Terry and Roman had a private meeting regarding this situation.

I'll believe it when I see it , it will be good if its true as bertie is a bit shaky

I am happy that Cole will remain and as for Lamps it's upon the club to decide. If he remains it's ok with me but if he chooses to leave i won't hang myself either although the ideal decision is for him to stay at the club (that is if he wants to boost his 2014 world cup chances). He should however accept that his game time will reduce significantly. He'll be a squad player.

given the midfield situation we have atm (and striking as we need to sell and replace fernando). we really need cole for another year at least. left back problem can be summer 2014.

Great news...

BOTUM Ihavent heard Lampard complain about not playing under benitez. He never complained under Rdm. Only thing he said under Avb was that he felt that he was still good enough to start
Lakupiippu
both cole and chelsea know we NEED him for another year. as much as i love and respect frank, this is different.
arbor9
'crf250 how did you know about their meeting? i will like to know more about it
Don capon
That means he complained to AVB. Anyway there's no problem with keeping Lamps around. I am not against the idea at all. It's good to have him around for his experience, leadership and more importantly goals.

Pleasing news know I hope Lamps gets a new contract too both Ash and Frank have deserved it after their performances.
Elbowz
Hopefully, Lamps will get atleast a 1 year extension.

As much as this may sound odd, I believe that a new managers or potential new managers touch is behind this. I just seems funny that one moment he's leaving and then the next he's staying. It could be that that manager has identified what he wants before he accepts, anyway just a theory, could be completely wrong. Great news though, it will benefit Ryan greatly.
Blue1989
He deserves 2yrs

Cole is now on £200k /week - highest paid defender in the world http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2265523/Ashley-Cole-highest-paid-defender-world-agreeing-new-Chelsea-contract.html
Blue_Mel
Cashley almost never discussed his contract in public and he been given a new deal, unlike some "legend" who warps to the media any chance he gets...*smh
@Mq
Good move keeping him, and will allow Bertrand to be given more time to show credentials for first choice after one more season and Cole can play on a one year rolling contract so we dont get stuck in any more poor situations with players declining getting paid huge money. 200K a week is alot of money and puts him in the same wage bracket as Hazard (who reportedly earns 100K NET a week). Massive for a defender.
BlueKiwi
Great news, hopefully he puts a 200k a week performance when called upon
Ken4CFC
Great news. He is the best left back that england produced and im happy that he wont be wearing red next season.
abzkilla
im happy he is to good to let go,as for his wages whats all this talk about did he ring and tell you what cra.
herefordchelsea
